    The sense of entitlement is strong with this one. If your show is a dud with an audience they aren't going to make part 2. End of story.

      Yes so true, it is a mind disease with them, in that all once normal human, mature and adult instinctive ability to see the truth when it is so obviously apparent like a crying cry is no more and thus they have to result to paying a lot of money to lawyers in their need to still win. Is a big problem for the western world!!

      @kermmettfrogger624 Fans are critical when garbage is released with a $180 million budget. Nevermind the agendas and gaslighting, it was horribly written, with a useless plot that was an all over the place ripoff of previous content (and even fanfics) and it completely ignored what Star Wars truly is. They destroyed lore, destroyed known characters and canon. No thanks to anyone who shits on George Lucas and refers to R2D2 and C3PO as homosexuals. No thanks to gaslighting and their own twisted virtue signing. The show was nothing more than a shallow, below CW level fanfic with an incompetent key-janggling showrunner that did nothing to earn it, full of self-entitled SJW's and actors who got parts with no auditions.

    I was stunned at how badly written this so-called show was . . . Heard from the "Overlord DVD" channel that there are three versions of the show that were shot, to reflect radical script changes. I believe it, by a preponderance of the evidence as to the flow of the (rather nonsensical) narrative. Also, you may have noticed that in the middle of the season the robes the Jedi wore went from the white of the high republic to something more like what we know, then they switched back! The process of shooting various and sundry script changes, and trying to edit together a coherent movie or show from such is called "scrapbooking" - and it never works out for the good of the project. Setting that all aside, on two major points alone the show got completely wrong - how the Force works, and who and what the Jedi are . . . Had the Jedi order become arrogant, which blinded them to the manipulation of a sith lord, who gradually gained political power and executed a coup d'etat via the clone wars? Sure - but they were never corrupt in spirit, as they were the good guys. Jedi who were corrupted by study and practice of the dark side . . . became sith! I know that all this was done to serve an insidious political agenda. We the fans, and Star Wars itself, deserve better than this bantha poo-doo.

    • @TheCriticSensei
      @TheCriticSensei  29 днів тому +3

      Completely agree! The writing and narrative flow were just all over the place, and those inconsistent Jedi robes really stood out as a glaring example of the mess behind the scenes. The Force and the Jedi were so poorly portrayed; it’s clear they missed the mark. Star Wars deserves so much better!

    You cannot sue Disney for the cancellation of a series.. Quit acting like a baby and get over it.. If you don't like it take a hike and go someplace else to make movies.. While it's true that a show can be pulled without being officially canceled, the legal grounds for a lawsuit can still exist depending on the contracts and agreements in place. If the creators had expectations or assurances that weren’t met, or if there were perceived breaches of contract, they might feel justified in pursuing legal action.

      @TheCriticSensei  15 днів тому

      I appreciate your perspective, and I understand where you're coming from. However, I see things a bit differently. While it's true that the original trilogy had its flaws, what made them special was the heart and soul that went into the storytelling and character development. Those movies resonated with audiences because they were more than just entertainment; they were a cultural phenomenon that connected with people on a deep level.
      It's also true that times have changed, and we can't expect to replicate the exact formula from the 70s and 80s. But I believe that respecting the core elements that made Star Wars beloved is essential, even with new generations of writers and directors. The new content should build on that foundation rather than moving too far away from what made the originals great.
      For some, the newer content is entertaining, and that's great if it works for them. But for many fans, it's about maintaining the integrity and magic that Star Wars has always represented. For me, it's not just about entertainment; it's about preserving the legacy of something that has meant so much to so many.

    IMO only one of these is fact ...
    >There is no Agenda.
    >There is a Narrative from the toxic fan base.
    >There is an audience for these storylines comensurate with the budget.
    >The SW projects viewership and ratings are trending downwards.
    The other three are IMO self-serving or delusional.
    The 3rd might be partially true. Somebody watched. There may be an audience for these but not proportional to the budgets; maybe there is at an indie film audience level. Or the audiebce isn't into SW in a galaxy faraway but more of a League of Their Own or the Color Purple (1985] (only the villain would be race shifted by The Agenda).

    • @TheCriticSensei
      @TheCriticSensei  16 днів тому +1

      I agree, the viewership for these projects clearly isn’t matching up with the massive budgets they’re getting. There might be a niche audience, but it’s not enough to justify the kind of spending we’re seeing. It seems more like they’re trying to push a certain narrative rather than focusing on what the broader Star Wars fanbase actually wants. If they were truly paying attention to the audience, they’d see the downward trend in interest and adjust accordingly.

    Did nobody really use their rotten brains when watching the Acolyte? It's never as great as the Clone Wars or Mandalorian, but the Acolyte was always meant to be a two season show. The only reason why this show did so bad is because of reviews from people who only skipped through the first three episodes. People are only hating on bad writing, bad character developement and lesbian witches because they are easily manipulated by those reviews I mentioned. With Darth Plagueis appearing in the season finale we now have proof that Qimir might be Plagueis' first apprentice before Darth Sidious and that Plagueis learned about the ability to create life because he worked with the witches. Darth Plagueis watching Qimir and Osha, the ending scene where Vernestra wants to speak to Yoda, that already means that there will be a season two with most likely more Plagueis content. The Acolyte is a difficult show because unlike the Mandalorian, where we were taught that it's going to be crazy soon, The Acolyte slowly builds up from episode to episode, giving us only little information, so that we come up with theories like we used to do with older Star Wars shows.

    • @TheCriticSensei
      @TheCriticSensei  Місяць тому +10

      I guess that’s one way to look at it lol, I believe the show has several fundamental issues that detract from its quality. Here are some reasons why many viewers, including myself, found it disappointing.
      Weak Writing: The dialogue and story arcs often felt contrived and lacked the depth we've come to expect from the Star Wars universe. Many scenes felt like they were trying too hard to be profound without actually delivering substantial content.
      Character Development: The characters, especially the main protagonists, felt underdeveloped and one-dimensional. It was difficult to form any emotional connection with them, making it hard to care about their journeys or struggles.
      Pacing Issues: While a slow build-up can be effective, The Acolyte struggled with maintaining viewer engagement. The pacing often felt sluggish, and crucial plot points were either rushed or dragged out unnecessarily, which made the viewing experience less enjoyable.
      Forced Diversity: The introduction of certain characters and plot elements, like the lesbian witches, felt forced rather than naturally integrated into the story. This can come off as tokenism and detract from the narrative's authenticity.
      Comparisons to Other Star Wars Content: Shows like The Mandalorian and The Clone Wars set high standards with their storytelling, character development, and ability to engage viewers. Unfortunately, The Acolyte fell short in these areas, making the contrast even more noticeable.
      Reliance on Future Potential: While the inclusion of characters like Darth Plagueis hints at future developments, a show should be able to stand on its own merits. Relying on the promise of what's to come isn't enough to redeem the current weaknesses.
      If a second season happens I hope it addresses these issues and brings the depth and engagement that Star Wars fans are craving but I really doubt it. Too many mistakes were made with this show.

      I watched the entire thing, no skips. What I hated most was how they have perverted the Jedi order into being the villains and made the sith out to be a misunderstood counter culture. The bad writing, acting, and pacing was just the icing on the cake. Sure, the Jedi were misguided in the prequels, but never malicious oppressors. That has always been the sith position.
