I think it suits the use you are putting it to - probably the same use as everyone does 99% of the time - safe efficient transportation on ordinary roads. Most of us are susceptible to fantasy marketing in vehicles (and everything else) and end up buying too much performance for too much money, leading to anxiety and frustration. Why ? Do we think others will like us more ? Probably not, they'll just be jealous. Maybe we believe others will think we are successful ? Probably they will feel that we don't deserve it, and that we are wasteful. When you drive an older vehicle other people (generally) look upon your car as a pleasant image from their past, and you, as the driver, as a custodian of better values from the past. Especially when you have done the Work your😇self.

      Thank you very much!
It suits for every day that's for sure. A lot of cars since 60s suit for daily driving even in our days. Human beings are very susceptible for marketing tricks that is true. Ah yes, people think that others will like them more! A lot persentage will jealous only. Just humans psychology. Moral is: keep driving what you have. Don't allow to pull marketing boloney on you. 'Pleasant image from past!' So awesome! We all custodians of values. One of main values is doing things which help you to avoid boring I think.

B18 engine - I looked it up. It appears there are lots of performance modifications that would make significant performance increases on this engine. Yours is a 60s model, so it's probably carbs or Bosch-D injection, with SOHC. They improved this engine over the years. You could take it up to 130-ish hp with off-the-shelf parts. More with ghetto hotrodding methods.

Yes, my b18 was too exhausted and it burns oil. Right now I'm riding on b20. The same design but volume 2.0 liters and diameters of valves increased and another things modified. This one with single carburetor. Agreed it can be modified for horsepower increasing (with getting worse gas mileage?). Probably more angry camshaft with double carbs🤔. Thank you so much for watching!

Maybe some uprated suspension, as it's sagging to the front left when you're driving.

Thanks! Agreed, I have to work with suspension. I've replaced recently upper ball joints and lower by non original substitutes and steering rods choosed best ones from junk. Yes yes I should pay attention to length of springs.

Grew up with the Volvo 140 series. Performance parts can still be had from companies like IPD. If you have a B18, I'm guessing your car is a 1968/69.
They're kind, an absolute friend, always there when needed. Easy to work on, service, and if you can keep the rust away they will absolutely outlast us all.

@@znuh Thank you! I'll keep it in mind spare parts can still be had from companies like IPD. I never bought anything from IPD. Yes, I have b18a but this one which I'm currently using is b20a in right this car now. Main advantage that easy to work on. At least they outlast a lot another cars if we take care of them.😊
