CLASSIC CAR & tractor moves, drives out, Harrier find & car memorabilia

- There's plenty going on in today's Old Classic Car video - from underbonnet cosmetics on the Ford V8 Pilot, then a drive out in it to admire old aircraft. Memorabilia finds relating to classic cars, plus tractor & trailer moves, and the discovery of a retired Royal Navy Harrier jet outside an MOT garage, all make it into this classic car video.
While a lot of time lately has been spent on the Jaguar purchase, there has been plenty of other activity here at OCC HQ, some of which is featured here. If you wonder what's happening with the 4CV, then that'll appear in a separate video soon, as will (hopefully) a few words on the A40 as I know a number of viewers are keen to see things progress on the latter. Not a day goes by without something relating to these old relics happening here, but not everything gets video'd, for example we've been to a few small meets in the Ford lately but haven't necessarily filmed them all.
If you're a fan of classic cars and transport in general, please take a look around the rest of the channel and the main OCC site (established in 2001).

Yes, a video on the trailer please.
Hi Richard . The US Marine Corp still use the Harrier . My brother had a 700 Coupe and was clocked at 102 mph across Stone Henge late one night towing his Sprog sailing boat with all the gear and crew member . When the police stopped him and asked what it was they couldn't believe it was only 700cc and let him off 😊Cheers Richard .
Some going in that little BMW!
Great video thanks 👏🏻
Would love to see a video on the trailer.
I really enjoyed this as it was full of variety and interest, and it is good to see that your "youthful assistant" is still as enthusiastic and interested because he is at an age when things of childhood are often shrugged off. You and family must be rightly very proud of him. Glad the Pilot is even healthier after your wiring work, and that you will keep the Ferggy, which like many of we country bumkins was the first vehicle we started to drive, though in my case albe it standing as I 'wus gaar laarl' the a we say in Cumbria! Thank fro the fun and knowledge. Rob
Hi Richard. I love both BMW's. Especially the 1960s white model. Very rare indeed. Complete with the old style hat in the back. I wear trilby hats sometimes. I like the 1960s style of fashion. Your Jag is looking good. Your dashing youthful assistant suits being behind the wheel of it. Did you know there is a type of cheese called Dunlop like the Tyre. I haven't tried it. It might be a bit rubbery. Ha !. Thanks for your video. From Carl in NZ.
I've never heard of Dunlop cheese, although as I hate the stuff maybe I wouldn't have!!
@oldclassiccarUK I was watching the TV game show The Chase. It's your British show with Bradley Walsh. And one of the questions was which of these three answers is a type of cheese. One of the three answers was Dunlop. It's a cheese. I didn't know that either. Apparently it's a British cheese.
@@oldclassiccarUK Sorry , I goggled the cheese, and it's Scottish.
Great video a lot of activities going on very enjoyable cheers
Glad you had a "suceed to proceed" in the Pilot!
One of the most interesting videos about bits and pieces the tractor will be good for all the moving when it's fixed and the extension will hopefully house the Jag as it will need to be under cover for the winter
Harley is so good at driving especially as he drives all sorts of vehicles he won't be any problem come test time very useful guy keep us entertained with more like this as and when possible
Thanks for the kind words, I did wonder if there were too many un-related things in this one but it came out ok in the end. Thanks for watching.
Thoroughly enjoyable breakfast viewing, Harley definitely has better reversing skills than I possess. The first time I have seem a BMW LS700, it looks an interesting little car.
Cool trailer - has almost an aeronautical look about it, as if it had been made from an old fuselage
I have wondered whether the outer skin fitted to the trailer did have a previous use, there are one or two holes that don't make much sense
Lovely to see your video of Rootes at Gaydon. I live and breath Rootes cars in southwest France and have several Alpines and a very late Series V Rapier. I am also into Jags but now only have coupe XJS V12. A very interesting channel that you do . Keep it up!!!!!
Thanks, glad you find the channel of interest (from a fellow Jaguar owner)
Great video as usual. That noisy tappet on the Standard would drive me mad!
Hì rick, great vid. Lovely trailer for big dodge, you have a good fleet of cars.do love the pilot.you n harley make great vids.well done.❤❤ alan n suzy
Thanks 👍
Lovely to see the AVRO Anson. My Dad did a lot of RAF training in those during the War. Did I miss something - what was the point of moving everything around at OCC HQ ? Great to see the Pilot out and about - I do love that car - my favourite of all your fleet. Thanks for all your interesting vodeos - take care 🙂
Glad it was of interest, the main idea was to move the trailer so that I can carry on pulling down the old shelter. With the Jeep soon to go, I wanted to get the trailer moved.
Interesting video😊
Thank you
Very enjoyable with a nice mix to the content
Thanks!
Beautiful job, i also think traditional there should have been a retainer on the inside of the bearing, maybe they delete them now. Love your work.
1 minute after, first view and like from São Paulo, Brasil!
Thanks!!
Well I have often wondered what was under the tarpaulin but I didn't want to be rude and ask! That trailer like big Dodge is a real piece of history and I think a bit of a clean up one day would be very interesting. I think the paint on the Pilot just spruces up the engine bay a bit rather than having too many colours and of course not correct colours. I did guess the last spark plug was a Bosch by the green stripes but I am not sure about one of them. I do remember the parking lights on cars. I think there were a number of reasons for having them, one being 6 Volt lighting on some cars of that era. I think the quality of street lighting played a part too. It was a shame the Avro could not fly but safety is the important thing. Nice to see the Harrier up close as well they were such a fantastic design. Thanks Rick for the video, a bit of everything in there which is not a bad thing. 👍👍
Glad it was of interest!
Yes I should like to see a video on the trailer. It would be nice to see it in working condition.
Thanks, it does tow and I took it to a show a few years back, I might do it again sometime
7:40 The horn "intakes" are actually "outtakes", ie. where the parpy sound comes out!
Well yes I suppose so, just the wrong choice of word
COOL.
📻🙂
The trailer deserves a clean and oily rag.
Yes the oily rag will be done, although before then I'd like to have a bit of the missing signwriting re-instated where it has faded away
Good idea to set the tgractor up for towing seeing as the Jeep's days are numbered. A tow bar on the Jaguar wouldn't look so good!!
Hello, this man was the designer of the BMW 700 etc. and for Standard Triumph --- 😉Giovanni Michelotti
That makes sense!
Gearshift lock also featured on Saab, 900s
The BMW 700 is interesting.
Hi. re Henry " not being a fan of the Pilot"..... very much doubt he ever heard of it as he died in winter 1947 & was quite removed from the company a few years before that! It was understandable Ford Britain came out with a quick minor update of the '30s Model 62 V8, Most people today would think a Pilot was more aged than 1947-51. They are a stylish '30s design.
It was probably Henry Ford II I was thinking of
❤
On the tester the screw is probably to zero in the needle
Ah thanks!
Im getting on a plane flying to your town to help you push the tractor,, wait for me..
Hi Rick, super little "bit & pieces" video 😊Thank you. I thought you and your viewers might like this video ua-cam.com/video/NL3JJSLFSyw/v-deo.html from a vehicle meet deep in what was the DDR. Lots of very unusual (to us) vehicles, many of East European/Soviet origins. All best, JP. Cheltenham.
