You only get the proper ending if you complete it on the hardest difficulty setting. A friend of mine and I managed this (eventually) back in the day but it took several attempts!
@@geovani60624 It's interesting, how much of a different meaning, the word "Demo" meant, back then. Imagine what a kid would think about those old demos, now days. Example: Kid walks away from the game, while at the title screen. The kid comes back with snacks, and see's the game playing its self. Kid freaks out and thinks his room is haunted.
Dunno, game is hard but not THAT hard. It's about memorization. Unlike Contra Hard Corps, which is memorization PLUS good reflexes (because of how fast that game is).
Its successor had _a few_ great games, most notably Zelda OoT and Zelda MM, which are arguably significantly better than Zelda ALttP. But the SNES had _many_ great games. Even the generally praised Super Mario 64 wasn't remotely as fun as Super Mario World in my opinion. (Jumping on enemies' heads is so imprecise in 3D that they had to give Mario the ability to punch. Generally there is much more walking and much less jumping because of 3D.) And the two Rareware shooters aged badly. The developers hadn't really figured out 3D at the time, and they didn't realize that not everything needed to be converted into 3D. (That comes from someone who had a N64 but never owned a SNES.)

Manays i actually think super mario world isnt as great as smb3 or super mario 64. The only problem switch has is 3rd party r rereleasing compared to making new games.

C3 gives me that true arcade approach - the game you're playing is so challenging, yet you know it's not impossible so you keep coming back for more. Tremendous SNES visuals & audio, it's Contra NES on steroids. I still can't defeat the missile/rocket boss fml.

I have just this moment looked at the manual online for the game under its original _Contra III_ title and even that calls the same weapon a Crush-Gun.

I have watched dozens of your videos, and this is the first one where you were drunk (or at least admitted it). "H" = homing missle. Also, you should have switched to your other spot, so you could keep spread, and have homing missles, the two best weapons in the game.

Just shoot them. Just shoot directly down. They'll never hit you. Two, you can hold R to root your character, which lets you shoot on the diagonal without moving.

I loved playing Easy 3 lives and continuing on until I ran out of continues. I made it to the end boss on Hard but could never beat him that final time! Love this game!
It's the same game but the robots looked SO much better in the Euro version. I mean it looked like so little effort was put into those two dudes at the start when compared to the Masamune Shirow style robots in Probotector.

In November of 2020, I beat this game on hard mode for the first time. I didn't know about the bonus boss! I am so relieved to have finally finished this game. I also beat Double Dragon II: The Revenge on NES on Supreme Warrior difficulty in the same week, and fuck, that had a hidden boss, too!
Hey SNESDRUNK i have a question for you concerning this game when you die and you switch your regular machine gun before you do does it take away both of you gun upgrades or not? bc in contra 4 it only takes away the gun you had equipped during your death.
On stage 3, right as you beat the wall climber and get to the top. I used to attach a rubber band to the fire button, move to the very left of the screen, and farm lives for the next stages 😂 would walk away for about an hour and come back to max lives and lose them all instantly hahaha
I remember playing this game when I was really young with me and my brother and was really hard and now you can play on the Super Nintendo classic edition and it brought a lot of memories but I have to play it alone because I don't have any friends Cinema laser so I appreciate this game a lot because I wasn't always like this

After years of trying I've actually beaten Contra and Super C now, but I think Contra 3 is on another level of difficult, but it could be because i haven't been playing it obsessively. Johan Öberg I would say Super C is probably the easiest, followed by Contra, and Contra III being the hardest of the three Nintendo Contras. But like you said, Hard Corps is the hardest one by far.
I found out a lot of people didn't know they had 2 guns slots and you could switch between them and If you die ( i could be wrong) but you don't lose that other slotted gun.
Final boss sequence is one of the greatest ever in video game history the simplicity is mine blowing. And you're very intelligent for realizing how contra just borrowed from what was cool at the time
Gamers growing up today have no idea about these classic games. This wasn’t the type of game you’d take home, play for several hours, and then have it beaten on the 1st or 2nd day. You’d simply get burned out if you attempted that. You’d play a bit, take a break and play it again a little later, get a bit further, and keep repeating. Maybe after several weeks (or longer) you’d finally be able to beat it. It took to to be able to complete these games.
I have never played this game and i grew up with super nintendo lol. Ive heard u talk about this game a ton so even tho Run and Gun games aren't really my thing after watching this video like five times and laughing my ass off over the past few months since I discovered you I have decided to download it for my emulator. I decided 2 watch the opening cutscene for the first time before I started playing and hear your voice every time I see that cutscene and it cracks me up I haven't really buckled down and tried to Beat it more have just gotten through the first and second level on1 continue but I never use the continues so I can try to get good at the first couple levels before moving on it is very intense I played it on hard with 7 Lives for shits and giggles and got creamed then tried easy and still got creamed lol so i switched it back to normal and have gotten semi decent at it. I was quite sheltered as a kid so i love this channel so i can find all the shit i missed out on due to my parents not letting me get certain games. Anyway im about to go attack aggressively. Nah maybe ill attack passively who knows lol

H stands for Homing gun which chases the enemy. It is just like the enemy chasers in Metal Slug. S stands for spread gun.

This game was one of the coolest games ever growing up in the 90s, the action was soo intense and very fun, one of the best games ever!! Classic.
The C "Crusher Bomb" is the strongest weapon although it comes out slow but in quick short bursts can do loads of damage.

The mini boss on level 3 that blew your mind is the same mini boss you knocked down moments before - back with a vengeance.

You can hold the bumper buttons to station your self so you won't move when you are in a angle or aiming at things.

The contra guys were totally a couple. The "attack aggressively" was the power bottom.
After they're done exterminating the alien swarm, they go down to the Ramrod to cruise for twinks. What a couple of super buff dudes!
