YES TRUE LIES!! Among all the dog crap I rented back in the day, True Lies was a total hidden gem, I had a blast playing that one.
I admit I'm one of the four or five people in the world who loved Last Action Hero.
Same. We are dozens!(Maybe)
nonh1 well if you mean the movie I think it is rather good although it is tough to categorize cause it’s not just a normal action movie. Charles Dance is without a doubt an incredible villian in the movie lol
I'm one of the 12 people in the world who hasn't seen Last Action Hero, but knows enough about it to question why people hate it
I was going to say, Last Action Hero is amazing.
No you’re wrong we all loved that game it was very Unique gameplay and super challenging
Waterworld music is very relaxing, Donkey Kong underwater levels level of relaxation 😂
That Shane McMahon comment was hilarious and spot on
Armateras it isn’t Shane McMahon in that game unless he is jumping off something very high, like a steel cage, lol
As soon as he said it I did a double take and was like... yup definitely him!
I died.. it definitely looked like Shane O Mac 😆
My GF heard that comment and had to check it out too lmao
No Escape is an underrated movie. It was good.
It would've been better if it had a hard R rating. Felt a bit kid friendly.
@@Bubba__Sawyer What was "kid friendly" about that movie? You have to be talking about a different No Escape because the one from 1994 was rated R and had a decent amount of violence...
@@Bubba__Sawyerbeheadings are kid friendly?
This video had my sister and I cracking up, I love how straightforward you are and we lost our shit when you said " this game is bullshit".
Thank you for mentioning True Lies! Rarely does that game get any mention anywhere else on nostalgia SNES games, and it's a damn crime considering how fun (and bloody) that game really is.
This game was ok. Not incredible but decent isometric action. Surprising it turned down to be maybe one of the only two or three movie based titles on the system that are worth playing
José Marques Def debatable with your first statement, but I respect your opinion. I do agree with the second though.
Man, I just stumbled on your videos just yesterday and I've been watching non stop since. I really appreciate your videos!
Just a quick correction but Indiana Jones Greatest Adventures was developed by Factor 5 of Turrican fame. The Super Star Wars games were developed by Sculptured Software.
I love Factor 5.
I wondered how they got sprite rotation (the giant boulder) to work, as the SNES didn't natively support sprite rotation without the SuperFX chip. But of course the boulder is an image on the otherwise black background layer, which can be rotated in mode 7.
Nice video. I like the idea of reviewing a specific genre, makes it handy for someone looking for a game similar to one they already know they love.
thanks for the video. your channel really helps me find games I havent heard of
Thank you for watching
One of the best video game review channels on youtube. I really like how you make your videos. and checked out some games because of your suggestions.
Thanks for watching
No Escape aka Escape from Absolom is a flawed but enjoyable flick. Worth checking out.
Which stars a lot of famous actors, like Lance Herinksen, Ernie Hudson, and of course, Ray Liotta
the action is very well done and is very satisfying to watch!!
This was my favorite movie on the rent store back then.
Terminator 2: Garbage Day!!!
Thanks for making this list it will save me a lot of time.
After watching this video i will have a great rest of my day! Thank you SNES drunk ❤
Arnold looks like Hank Hill in Terminator 2 on SNES.
No Escape analysis: "Anyway, this game is bullshit." Concise and descriptive. I love it.
Jeffrey Wachter cool. I love the game too.
I like your channel ... you don’t talk down to your viewers intelligence, and you don beg for subscribers at the end of your videos ... it’s refreshing ... liked and subscribed 👍🏾
Thanks, that's the idea
Another fantastic video. Spot on with everything you said but I do love the SNES Jurassic Park. The game itself was great and the soundtrack is amazing. Some of the best SNES music in my humble opinion.
The only thing in the morning to look forward to
I've always loved last action hero. Great flick.
That Bruce Lee game has really great music for SNES (actually most of games you mentioned have good sound design - Lawnmower Man, RoboCop 3 etc.). Also I like how you can continue your game even after death by beating ominous samurai ghost (really creepy atmosphere for movie-licensed 16-bit game).
I played the jaguar version. didn't even know there was a snes version
It's an amazing game with hidden depth. Music is stunning and it's got a 3 player mode.
Thanks 7
I enjoyed Alien 3 also... scrambling around tunnels and levels while trying to ration ammo, with xenomorphs popping out of nowhere at you... planning your route strategically at the terminals... and the music really matched the atmosphere.
I remember to beat cutthroat Island a long time ago. Me too would put it on my list, 'cause the game can be really fun when you accept the challenge and memorize the patterns. I think they could've polish a bit more of the game, it could deliver to the player a bigger promisse.
That waterworld music at the end though ...beautiful
The music at the end is 🔥🔥🔥
Last Action Hero featuring Shane O'Mac lol
I also loved Last Action Hero... really ahead of it’s time
the power ranger super nintendo games were amazing to play. movie game was hard but still fun.
True lies was such a sweet game... A big part of my childhood.. maybe the reason I was so bad at school for a year. Loved that game
FINALLY someone else that loves True Lies! Easily one of my favorite top down shooters on the system
Another great video! Good job man, so many titles to analyse.
MM Power Rangers is my favorite of these. Really fun and unique beat'em up.
3 Ninjas have really good graphics. Wasn't expecting that.
I loved last actuon hero as a kid. The over-the-top parodic action was just fun. Like when he doinf continuous flips off the top of the sky scraper.
Dude, love your videos. Could you add a list of "good" and "bad" in your comments section? I'm from MN as well, I laughed hard when you talked about the pains of NBA Jam and the sad player options for T-wolves. They could update NBA Jam every year and include it in the new NBA games
Dude 3 Ninjas Kick Back was a highly underrated game. Good times playing that thing!
Subbed im a snes collector ur vids are bad ass A++ my friend
What music was at the very end of the video? Was that from Waterworld? It sounded like Blade Runner.
Demolition Man was my favourite game for a while, back in the day.
oh wow!
you have gotten alot of subscribers...
i never thought about it before now but it sure has grown.
congratulations, its well deserved.
also, good video as usual
Finally, found someone who shares my love for The Last Action Hero
Yup Alien 3 is an awesome game, its definitely in my top 25 SNES games
Nice. Thanks. I'm buying It soon
The Soundtrack to Waterworld was made by Dean Evans. He also made other great video game music, like an unused song for the SNES Flintstone's and the cancelled Green Lantern game. He has his own UA-cam channel, which goes by his name, with alot of high quality game music uploads and also background stories to the songs.
No bullshit, there is a Cutthroat Island kiosk in the Maritime Museum in Beaufort, NC. It's located in a section for pirate and sailing themed entertainment along with some Muppet Treasure Island and the original Treasure Island movie stuff... all in the same museum as a bunch of artifacts found in the wreckage of Blackbeard's ship, The Queen Anne's Revenge!
Whoa whoa whoa! Last action hero rocked sir!
I love you! Please don't dog No Escape without seeing it. It's actually pretty good and got thumbs up from Ebert. Aside from that tiny off topic point-another awesome video
I am amazed your the first to mention snes Bruce Lee game I forgot about that I watch alot of gamer channels too I remember renting it from block buster and being in shock of the awesomeness ( applause)
Damn . SNES drunk , did you just become my new favorite channel ?
I’m addicted to your content.
No Escape was a good movie in the day.
Dragon-The Bruce Lee Story,is actually a very good fighting game.It has an in depth combat system, with 3 different fighting styles, that you activate by building up your ''chi-meter''.If you build up enough ''chi'',you can pull out a nunchaku and trust me,you will need it.The game is also pretty hard, has great animations(if you're a Bruce Lee fan you will recognise many iconic moves),cool soundtrack incl. music from Lalo Schifrin's ''Enter the Dragon'' soundtrack, speaking off,you actually fight the villain of this movie and an opponent who looks like Jim Kelly. It also has a co-op mode
The negatives:it's very short, you can finish it in less then half an hour and in multiplayer versus-mode ,you can't play as the opponents, only as different coloured Bruce Lee's.
Well, that Power Rangers game wasn't really based on the movie considering that the only thing from the movie in it is the final boss being Ivan Ooze, the villain from the movie. Everything else from in the game is just from the TV show.
Literally called the movie.
True Lies is way underrated.. excellent movie, excellent game tie in.
Very cool video.
Love the music at the end
The last action hero was a great movie, ahead of its time.
Demolition man is amazing. A lot of people hate it for its difficulty, but it's actually really nice. And it never gets boring.
Whats the song or game the theme at the end of the video is from?
Seems like no game can get Arnold right. Looks like John Goodman in T2.
John Goodman cosplaying Arnold, but then having the body language of Frankenstein's Monster when he jumps
Looked like hank hill. “I’ll be back, I’ll tell ya what”
"Heh, this guy doesn't even know how to use the three seashells."
I actually remember both of my older brother's playing the True Lies game back in the day. I never got around to playing it back then I think it was just a rental from Hollywood Video to be honest. Yeah we did have Blockbuster Video in town but we like going to Hollywood Video instead which was pretty cool at the time.
Hey is Blues Brothers any good? Seen it in my local shop and was considering it mainly because I heard its 2 player..
One of the cool things about Dragon The Bruce Lee Story were the three player fights. If you had a multitap then that mode was a good laugh.
No Escape was the first R movie I watched - our babysitter picked it up at the rental store when I was 9, and my brother and I loved it... keep in mind, we were 9 and 10.
I liked it too (although I knew it as Escape from Absolom), and I was like thirteen. It's a pretty solid 90s sci-fi action flick, with some surprisingly good actors. Ray Liotta, Lance Henriksen, Ernie Hudson, and Ian McNeice as a prissy germophobe, what's not to like?
StraightOuttaJarhois dont forget Stuart Wilson’s awesome turn as the villain! Also, for the longest time I thought the big guy was Glenn Shaddix, not Ian McNeice.
What's the song that plays at the end of the video?
Guess I'm one of the 5 who liked Last Action Hero (the movie) too. Great video as always, Drunk! Lots of solid content and guidance in this one. Keep it up.
I know a lot of people (including myself) that liked the movie, I must have watched several hundred times in the 90s thanks to it being replayed constantly on HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, Starz and Encore during the summer.
The kid ruins it for a lot of people, and to be fair he is really annoying. But still it's got some great jokes, "How did you know there was a guy in there?" "There's always a guy in there."
I thought everyone liked it.
"It's a beautiful day and we're out killing drug dealers...are there any in the house?"
I played and kinda liked it as well, without even watching movies. Even if it was obvious it is not that great. On PC though. Big nicely drawn characters, driving stages.. Standards were lower back then, especially among owners of a low-end PCs.
Loved T2: Judgment Day on Snes, shooting spree in the mall!
Bro that Shane McMan comment was perfect at 5:21! 😂
Your cideos are just the best
other than game sack you are the best channel on youtube good sir.
Thanks
In Lethal Weapon, You can switch to Murtal by going to the lockers in stage select part of the game
I really enjoyed Lawnmower man as a kid. Those 3d phases were amazing back then.
EXACTLY! This channel should have been over after that comment.
I loved last Action here too because it's amazing. Saw it in theatres.
Ben Wilson it’s probably the most misunderstood movie of the 90s. People seem to be favoring it more as time goes on.
Ohh T2 and those driving levels.
I honestly found the best way to get through those was by driving backwards in the middle of the road.
Also yay for True Lies, only got to experience it on emulator but its a damn fun Arnold game
Where's that music from at the end of this video??
You are absolutely right. The Arnold character from Last Action Hero DOES look like Shane-O-Mac!
I loved Last Action Hero the movie! First time I actually listened to any Megadeth. Friggin fell in love with Angry Again.
I had Judge Dredd for the Genesis. It was not bad for a movie game but I got lost in the levels a lot because of those dumb ladders I would never notice.
I saw Two Best Friends Play do most of these games in one episode years ago. Funny stuff.
I remember no escape! It had Ray Liora and Ernie Hudson. It was pretty decent to me!
dude I love the movie Last Action Hero I saw it in the theater as a kid and the villain I forget his name but he's awesome with the different colored contacts that he puts in I'm with you on that one snes drunk
True Lies is one of the best shoot-em-ups on SNES, no question. Its perfect 16-bit fun.
The cover art for Time Cop was of the Comic the movie (thereby the game) was based on. Probably did it to appeal to fans of the comic book, as well as the movie.
Cliffhanger use to make me cry....physically,and mentally. I was so excited to play it but I should have know better,I won it at the arcade for like 5000 tickets.
I loved Last Action Hero too. There are three more of us out there.
What is that music at the end of the video? It sounds really cool.
I laughed at that clip of Cliffhanger where your character is climbing and the bad guy just shoots at you from a ledge.
Judge Dredd is an awsome game imo. I dont find it hard to navigate around the levels, but it is a difficult game, definetly a recomendation if you want a bit of a chalange.
I really like Lawnmower Man for snes, I dont play it to much but I liked what I played.
You're not the only one who loves Last action Hero!
That's interesting to hear that True Lies is actually pretty good. I'm sure I dismissed it based on it being licensed. Just saw that it goes for $25-30 on ebay though.
Awesome video, and the fact you love The Last Action Heroe makes it 10 times more awesome! I remember playing a Universal Soldier game years ago, but it was a clone of an old Turrican game, I guess, and I hate it. You should check it out. Thanks for your amazing channel!!!!
Have you done battle clash? What an awesome and very underrated game for the super scope six I used to play that ish al the time
I wonder what sold more: Tickets for Cutthroat Island or the game?
probably the game since they made an adptation of the movie almost to all the actual platforms of the time.
Neither, lol.
No Escape with Ray Liotta and Stuart Wilson is a great film! You should give it a viewing.
I rented Last Action Hero from a local video store after it came out and I remember being confused by it. I was young, naïve, and it was the first time I had played a game that was no fun to play and had absolutely no redeeming qualities. I kept thinking I was missing something and continued playing waiting for something good to happen, but it never did.
True Lies is one of my childhood favorites, sadly i never finished it.
Yeah you can count me as another Last Action Hero fan. That movie was fucking brilliant.
I'd switch Alien 3 to Star Gate. Love this game and used to play it to death on Genesis when I was a kid. And as far as I know SNES and Genesis versions of the Star Gate are almost identical to each other.
What was the song at the end?
what's that beautiful music I'm hearing at the end of the video???
