Cold War had a near-complete blackout 2.0, it had slightly altered variants of the ground war/ outbreak maps, that’s why Sanatorium and Zoo have the same train line in the middle. They were meant to have a train on it like Worlds edge from Apex had a long time ago. It also had a little Soviet town in the middle and Summit was up on a hill in the Alpine area, there’s a video on UA-cam that goes over the scrapped map, just search ‘scrapped blackout 2 map’ it’s the one by CodTricksandSecrets

Man, thank you for this video. I wish there was still Lobbies to play this game, it felt truly rewarding. If you die, you die. Warzone is essentially multiplayer at this point. We would play all the time, no real big responsibilities or anything, just gaming and vibing. I love warzone as well but I would at least at the bare minimum love to see the map return as well, such a underrated BR experience
Blackout was really the BR which was on the point, a mashed map with nostalig Poi's, everyone had the same chance at start to scanvange and hope rng blessed you and customize the weapon you want or change it on the way for the situation, grapling hooks, sensor darts, vehicle on mass which pushed the rush playstyle on every aspect, which if a duo pushed didn't mean death cuz the movement and chance to flee or dodge and fight, the size and 100p was perfect, but the rng and scavanger aspect was what really pushed the classic BR which dropping on the same spot mean you must work with what you found and adapt which at the end mean the one which is better win. Or the jumping from tall buildings where you jumpsuite glided or could glide and push a enemy cuz it was fast and you didn't parachute as a free kill in the air, Blackout was really a COD BR fast and simple, loot-kill-win....i hate myself that i didn't play it more cuz had Bo4 since release and would give a lot to relive it...hell i would pay 70€ to have it with crossplay but all other stay the same, i hope Vonderhaar which left treyarch heard or saw that many wanted a blackout 2 and create a succsesor which catch with the simple br systems and arcade playstyle the same energy...or simply do it in bo6 as f2p for skin and weapon bundle sake and like mp go back what people want
Wow, i just realised that it has been over 5years since i played any game actively. My last memories from that time were when i was playing blackout and how hyped i was. It has been so damn long when i actually cared about any new game.
Great video! Love this it brings back memories I really enjoyed blackout because it had enjoyment written all over it! Funny how they said blackout made war zone what it is… war zone is just PROFIT where as blackout was SOUL
Blackout was so good yo. Classic gun feel and movement without dashing or pressing ultimate abilities for kills. The looting system felt really damn good. Many iconic spots to fight at and also plenty of natural terrain which may be my favorite combat space, especially at the end of a BR. Then again nearly wiping teams out of the Alcatraz prison 10 times for 50 kill BR matches was p fun too. I haven't enjoyed COD since but I'm grateful they made something that fun not so long ago.
Blackout was so much fun, from launch all they needed to do to make the game almost perfect was make level 3 armor the same as level 2 but also with head protection and add the armor repair scraps, the latter of which they actually did eventually. I was a bit of a beast at blackout and it was always crazy being last alive in quads and wiping teams to win the game
Blackout was sooo good it was perfect and when it was out I remember being super scared of the zombies, which was awesome because after playing something cartoonish like fortnite then you're jumped into a realistic/more harsh world of cod blackout
Blackout was one of the greatest games of all time, I'll never forget solo queuing squads, dropping into Riverton finding a mog 12 and a grapple gun and just start laying mfs down
Blackout was & IS the best BR out there. I've played them all, since the beginning. But Blackout was perfection. Nobody would play Warzone if Blackout had Cross-Play & Lifesupport or more maps & content. I'm still sad, Activision cancelled Blackout 2.... I was so pissed, when I heard the leaks back in the days from one of my sources. I was in denial...
i was just telling my brothers this last week, and we were saying how we all miss it :( used to drop in the graveyard constantly lol always had decent loot
@@ELIZABETHMARLONE2005 to each their own but realistically if Blackout had not been as popular during its life cycle then you know for a fact ATVI would have scrapped any idea for dipping their toes in the BR waters again as they only care about profits and Blackout gave them more than enough of a green light to continue with BR modes, hence WZ. Blackout walked so WZ could run, stumble, and fall.
• The Casual Nature Of This Battle Royale Out Of Each One I Played, I Actually Always Had Fun . Thanks For Reminding Me Of This Because BO4 Itself Is Kinda Underrated.
I miss this so much. Was so fun, played with my dad’s friends and a few of his friends. Much rather play this than Warzone. Wish they’d make another one. 😢
well said, especially the celebration of the past bit. After multiple BRs since then, I don't think it's just nostalgia missing Blackout, it was just the ideal BR for my play style.
I never played this I missed a few of the cod games from WW2 up until MW2 remake. I got back into gaming at the end of MW2, I preordered MW3 I played it up until January this year and I’ve pretty much given up on it. I ended up buying Cold War yesterday I’ve only played the start of the campaign and played some zombies and honestly Cold War seems way better then MW2/MW3
By far the best battle royale ever. I got called a hacker every day because i got so good and played so much. Like 21000+ kills with the mog. I loved that mog and brawler with dead silence so overpowered but fun and the grapple gun to get away and fly around the map with and go agressive on people. Blackout's map allowed you to be out in the open and not fear dying constantly if you're not hiding in a building like warzone. The terrain was more mountainous and you can use the terrain to take cover so not all fights would happen inside buildings it was very dynamic
Honestly, I reckon blackout map would work so much better than Verdansk coming back. Warzone hasn't had a proper story since Cold War, it's been getting more and more goofy with each season. The blackout map is more in tone with that, in terms of it doesn't try to be a real place, just a map that players would enjoy playing. If they did that and got rid of loadouts, Warzone would be so much more popular
Blackout is not just about the battle royale but it's supposed to be a "museum" for all older maps and celebrate some succession of black ops franchise. We might not have gotten the best black ops but, this blackout was essential to the ending and final nail before went into modern cod. I never got how much they put effort into their game, only to celebrate the franchise. It's crazy that BO4 is forgotten cod.
BO4 was peak playing Xbox with friends for me. So many memories on Blackout alone. I feel that if Treyarch was able to work a full three years on it BO4 could’ve potentially been one of the best CoD’s ever
I stopes playing COD back in 2016. Hopped back in when cokd war dropped. When battle royale dropped, all he talked about was how blackout was better lol. But watching this vid makes me wish i was playing when blackout dropped. Oh, and whats thr music in the background?
I think Blackout is the only time I will say this in gaming, but it really should have been free to play (and cross play) as the biggest issue it had even at launch was low player counts, and I think that is why many didn't give it a go and why it didn't see wider success, not to mention people were not big fans of both BO4 Zombies and BO4 multiplayer (despite me loving both) Blackout REALLY needed to be its own free to play game like warzone, but even with Blackout flying well under the radar for many, I loved it, I wish I could play it today but servers are just dead
Blackout was truely the best battle royale experience in my whole not so long life. I've had many HAPPY memories about it. The first win, unlocking reznov, woods. Even first Alcatraz match. Im rlly a fan of 3arch zombies, fans got a whole map, the zombies, wonderweapons, playable characters. I was.. idk, happy while playing Blackout? No p2w shit, no sbmm, no bundles, loadouts. Just go and loot, find items and do the chalange for character you rlly want. Some time ago i found out that there was a plans for Activison to add cross-platform to BO4, but sony prevented it. Maybe if activison made the blackout free, and sony werent a scumbag that i hate till this day, maybe Blackout was still alive. #REVIVEBLACKOUT.
I couldn’t agree more. I wish we could get blackout with black ops 6 movement. No buy stations. No loadouts. No killstreaks. Loot in bags. No buy backs. I really didn’t know how much I loved that game till warzone came out. I prefer a traditional BR. Not a massive MP game mode. Ughhhh I wish.
An underrated feature of Blackout was its colour pallet. COD keeps making dark, dreary maps when Blackout from several years ago looks so vibrant.
@@Stampistuta Yeah BO6 is even darker.... When I played the trial I was just thinking about that. Only blacks, greys and browns...

I didn't enjoy the base map but the alcatraz mode was the only gun based BR I've ever really had fun on!
Bro, I go back to the bo4 trailer so much. One of the best cod trailers ever man.
I wish I got to play this at the time.
I haven't enjoyed COD since but I'm grateful they made something that fun not so long ago.
was soooo epic black out! especially first time finding the ray gun
What a map! used to play with some great lads - famous quote from one - Where we dropping? Turbine every time.
Blackout felt like actual Fun
Blackout was so much fun, from launch all they needed to do to make the game almost perfect was make level 3 armor the same as level 2 but also with head protection and add the armor repair scraps, the latter of which they actually did eventually. I was a bit of a beast at blackout and it was always crazy being last alive in quads and wiping teams to win the game
Blackout was sooo good it was perfect and when it was out I remember being super scared of the zombies, which was awesome because after playing something cartoonish like fortnite then you're jumped into a realistic/more harsh world of cod blackout
Blackout was one of the greatest games of all time, I'll never forget solo queuing squads, dropping into Riverton finding a mog 12 and a grapple gun and just start laying mfs down
I played BO4 a shit ton and I fully agree.
The grind for the characters was fun too. Me and my friends spent hours on end trying to do each challenge
Yeah in hindsight, blackout was great but just like all games… no one respects them when until their life cycle has passed
Still one of my favorite brs to this day, I wish it got more traction
Blackout was like a capybara. A plant from your local law enforcement.
This game was nasty yo I remember getting the platinum trophy after unlocking all the blackout characters, good times.
Man the homies and I LOVED this BR. We talk about it all the time still. I miss playing it at its peak.
I was todays years old when i learned that blackout and warzone were 2 completely different things 😂
I damn near forgot about this mode. Brings back hella memories
i was just telling my brothers this last week, and we were saying how we all miss it :(
used to drop in the graveyard constantly lol always had decent loot
I loved that Easter Egg where Nuketown population number changed so it listed how many players were in Nuketown!
This is how Warzone Players feel about Verdansk ...
although i sucked at Blackout and PvP in general, i genuinely think that this CoD BR holds up more than WZ has or ever will
Warzone 1 was way better than Blackout and Scam Ops 4 in general
The first BR me and my Mrs would play together... as soon as Apex came out though, we moved and have been on there since. Love the memories though
I feel the same nostalgia in COD WarZone Mobile. It’s so fluid and amazing
I miss watching Blackout streams. Savage was a beast.
Same here my favorite big map warzone !!! Great memories with the homie
Every time I blacked blackout I was running into the sweatiest person ever. So I never played again
Blackout was my first battle royale game and I only played that for a while! ❤ I miss that time!
I remember the exact day Apex Legends came out was the day i was no longer able to get a full lobby on Blackout
The wing suit was the best, too. Wish they would bring that and the grappling hook to warzone.
Blackout was hands down WAY better than Warzone.
The hit registration in blackout comes out of hell..
It feels like an old mobile game at all
i Miss the days. I remember watching shroud on twitch playing this, because i couldnt stand solo queing
The fact the word warzone was never even mentioned is impressive!
Was amazing. The zombies in it. The diner. The nuketown. Idk amazing. My friends never wanted to play ):
Blackout was actually the best br I’ve played I miss those days
Its still active right we should all hop back on it
BO4 was peak playing Xbox with friends for me. So many memories on Blackout alone. I feel that if Treyarch was able to work a full three years on it BO4 could’ve potentially been one of the best CoD’s ever
i unlocked every character for blackout masson woods all the numbers... miss this game
So is this the same map they use for BR on Cod mobile? Cus it looks like thats the case
Definitely a lovechild of the series.
I always went to buried. Always had some good loot and action
Game was 🔥 bro I like this battle royal map and the way you gotta hookup the guns
Played blackout in beta and fell in love w it after my first dub. It’s sad to see it go
