We take a look at Marshall's new Plexi-inspired SV20H from the brand's new Studio Series.
What we said: "For cleaner tones, the SV20H responds superbly when guitar volume is dialled back. Once it’s dialled in, the SV20H becomes a simple and effective vintage-rock tone machine."

Really great demo, well done. I recently picked up an SV20H and I’m in love with it. I’ve been waiting for Marshall to release an amp like this for decades. It’s one of the greatest amps I’ve ever owned, and I’ve had a lot.
You said it for me as well!
Chris’ is one of my favorite “demo-ers” on UA-cam. I dig his playing style and I like how he adds the “full track” to his vids.
The amp sounds awesome.....the playing is even better !!! Nice demo 👍👍
sounds superb, as always!
Fantastic! Thank you. Shows another dimension of this classic circuit.
Fantastic amp, sounds great !
Killer chops!
This is next level guitar demo video quality
Good lord that sounds great
Always great musicality
Sounds mighty fine !
Love the demo, the playing and the sound. Well done. One of these is in my future
Thanks
Love your playing.
Love that Tone...
Nice classic hard rock tones.
What? This is an awesome amp & guitar combo. Great playing too...
Awesome
Late to the party. Dude you sound awesome!
Great Tone great Musik❤
Is there someway we could get the backing track? It sounds very good.
Bel suono, complimenti
Exquisite
Where is the reverb coming from? Pedal in loop or post recording ?
nice tones! honestly the only video I could find on YT that sounds great and not like shit. What was your recording signal chain? good job! I´ve just ordered the sv20h and 1959HW and will see which I will keep
Which one u ended up keeping my good friend???
@@fabriciocunha8436 I ended up getting the JCM 800 and 1959HW ! didnt like the sv20h that much. Its very often that the bigger amps sound bigger, even at lower volumes.
Killer!!!
Thought you should plug into top left and jump #2 to #1 right side. That way you use the higher gain inputs.
I’m glad he didn’t….I want to hear low gain breakup….there are lots of UA-cam videos with high gain.
@@nuendo2496 I agree, with clean to lo gain you can actually hear the pickup character. All the subtle differences are lost with hi gain.
Pretty sure these guys know how these amps work..
@@nuendo2496 Just saying that's the typical way on a 4 input Marshall. I too prefer lower gain tones.

Unique bending technique, down & away instead of up & towards. Whatever works!
does jumping the channels in diff combinations affect the tone? he has his guitar plugged into hole(😆) 2 of the top channel and the patch cable plugged into hole 1 of the top channel and hole 2 of the bottom channel. this config is kinda the opposite of the more common config.
nice
Very nice!
Good sound and good music. Ok
Is that a TV cab with 25w Greenbacks?
The guitar strings are 0.9?
The demo sounded like the solo from Love in an Elevator
I have this amp and 2 Les Pauls, but to me it sounds best with my 2002 SG faded special with a 490r and 498t pickups. Ebony fretboard. Start with
a clean tone setting and then your pedals will really sound great.
🙌
backin track...please
I'ma need me one a doze
Whats the deal with the jumper on the inputs?
Treble side is to bright ,and the other side is to dark..so you use them both and blend.
@@jordanpratt3821 Very good, I didn't know that! Thank you
I realize why I own a big loud old 73' JMP50. Because the guts don't look like a Dell computer. What happens is if It craps under warranty the poor tech splits $50.00 labor working half the day on a PC board. Been their done that.
its nice but what for, playing live you need a 100watt, playing in a studio or recording its too big and too large for quiet practice in the home
But these amps are not playable with different guitars? In every review always les paul and stratocaster just to demonstrate that are able to replicate 40 years old sounds..
Hey Fabio, here's a youtube link of this amp demo with a PRS and a Tele (briefly). Some guitar/amp combos just bond well together, Les Paul Standard and Strats, just happens to be the guitars preferred with this amp. ua-cam.com/video/9aN709YVEwE/v-deo.html
@@calimusic2007 obviously who makes the review can do what he wants.. But for example i m an ibanez guy i would like to know how it sounds with my type of guitar in the sense of more modern type.. This way seems that it can works only with fender and gibson.. My opinion
Rubbish. I have the SV20H and matching SV212 Cabinet, and with my Yamaha Revstar with P90 pickups, it sounds absolutely killer.
@@MrNordertitoff you didn t understand what i wrote..
This amp sounds great with any guitar.
Not bad, just need that £5,000 guitar to play it on...
Andy J M dafuk u talkin’ bout
@@vandal_dk Ill rather be poor and homeless , than be Danish
@@vandal_dk Lmao. Joakim ..... ur a sad human being
Zoom out. Man that's some annoying camera work.
nothing quite like soloing over the same chord...... SMFH
How would you like him to solo??
@@jordanpratt3821 by being creative, tasteful, and using different chords.....
@@recordjnky but what he's doing does the job.Its a review for a piece of gear,it's not ment to be the greatest thing written since dark side of the moon.
@@jordanpratt3821 it's a boring yawnfest. Hard to watch his amateur guitar center style playing and even harder to listen to it. Just another no talent clown trying to be UA-cam famous....
