    That’s pretty slick! Very well done. I would dread using it the first time and marring the face... Back to the buffing wheel. Lol

      I was not looking forward to using this one so I made a second one and tested it. I’ve got a video of that too.

    That is super cool. When I worked at a hobby shop during my high school years we sold alumilite, but I never would have thought anyone would make a mallet. I gotta say, that turned out crystal clear, way better than I would have expected! Great job👍

      The Grant Alexander Thanks! I had this idea a long time ago and found out Alumilite had all the supplies to make it happen. Be sure to check out their video too. I think you’ll like it.

    I want a buffing wheel so bad. Even if it's just for boards.

    Hi! first time i will do something with epoxy.
    I want to make prism and lens with epoxy.
    Can I make crystal clear prism and lens?

    • @CunninghamWoodWork
      @CunninghamWoodWork  3 роки тому +1

      I think Alumilite showed making a large gem that was crystal clear right out of a mold. I’m sure you could do a prism.

    When you don't have a mustache I get a little nervous. But I love the mallets. So that's why I'm here.

    I'm a metal working guy and dont know a whole lot about wood work but recently started on making my own wooden bossing hammers for metal shaping. Is there any resins or clear coats that can withstand heavy impact you would suggest as an extra added layer of protection for the heads?

    • @CunninghamWoodWork
      @CunninghamWoodWork  4 роки тому +1

      We tested a resin headed mallet recently. I hit pretty hard. I don’t know how it would do long term against metal. I believe the resin will soften at 120 degrees or so. ua-cam.com/video/rlQTtIBmP-M/v-deo.html

    Couple questions:
    How has the mallet held up to use?
    Where did you get the template for the handle?
    If the template is yours, would you share the template?
    Thank you, great video!

      This one was gifted to Alumilite but I made another one with the same material and I torture tested it and barely scratched it.
      The handle template is mine but I only sell the plans which you can print and trace.

    I’m always afraid too when I try to slip it in the hole, never sure it will always fit?

    What was that sprinkled material?

    • @CunninghamWoodWork
      @CunninghamWoodWork  3 роки тому +1

      I put a very small amount of salt in the glue to keep things from slipping.
