You know when your just looking for something on UA-cam and you find EXACTLY it? This is the video I needed tonight. I’ve been dithering over getting one and you helped me make my decision with this brilliantly in depth review. Thank you :)
The issues most people have with this machine is the type of milk used. It’s important to do some experiments to find out which works for you. Personally I have found that BOB and other filtered milks work fine where as skimmed and semi skimmed from the supermarket do not work as well. It’s not a frother it’s a recipe maker and there’s a difference. For information a magnet will never normally stick to stainless steel which is why the spinner doesn’t ‘stick’ to the jug.
Congratulations, great prize! You don't have to have a Nespresso machine (unless you want to have/use Nespresso coffee pods), you could use another machine/method to brew your coffee and then add it to the frother.
Surely if you put the ice in the BARISTA jug and brew the coffee directly into the jug it will cool down the coffee immediately? I’m still in two minds about this machine. You have answered one of my questions someone else asked though which was do you need a Nespresso machine? I don’t plan on buying one as I don’t like the thought of pods cluttering up the environment even if some/all are biodegradable. I loved this review though so will check out your other reviews I’m also considering the Aeroccino 4.
Eight months late, but no, you do not need a Nespresso machine. And for your information, Nespresso has a fairly robust recycling program. You can ship the capsules back to them or bring them back to your nearest Nespresso boutique, and they will turn the coffee inside into fertilizer and melt the aluminum to be reused. I think you are referring to Keurig capsules; these are not recyclable, but some of them can be composted.
I really like the Nespresso Barista machine video you made and I might buy one to try it, but I am very disappointed with the amount of frothed foam it makes! That’s not enough froth like the steaming wand with your espresso machine. The cappuccino you made with the Barista was wet and has no dry thick foam at all!! My Aeroccino 3 makes way much better dry thick foam that is half the glass high with NO LIQUID MILK droplets in it. A cappuccino should NEVER have wet froth on top, the froth should look like shaving cream!!! Thank you very very much again Crystal for the wonderful demos and drinks that you made with this very expensive machine ($345 in Canada)!!! I love ALL you videos Crystal!!! You always have amazing manicure and perfect nails!!! 🙏😊😎
Thank you for sharing! I usually stick to the same recipes so it'll be nice to try new ones. That latte macchiato doesn't look right to me. Mine get super foamy. I'd suggest trying different milk.
Is it worth getting a Nespresso Barista, in case of owning a Nespresso Creatista? Do those 2 complement each other? Or they both froth milk in similar ways? Thanks for sharing.
Hi, nice video but I have a question to ask something that even people from nespresso struggle to do so. I have the barista for over 2 years now and I usually use soy milk and I do get similar foam as you did however the moment I swap to almond milk or oats seems to just have warmed milk. Does not look like cappuccino at all, any suggestions based on your experience?
It has everything to do with the fat content in the milk. Cows milk will produce a larger amount of foam the more fat it has. so skim would make less foam than whole (3%) milk. Almond, soy, and oat simply don't have the fat content to make a stiff foam. Coffee Science! :) Hope that helps!!
It depends so heavily on the exact milk you use. I use only plant milks and I have tried them all and have a handful of the ones that work well for me in hot drinks. Experiment.
When you pair it with your phone, Is there an option that says you have a vertuo machine or are there any recipes that use the vertuo pods? Or is this barista machine only useful if you have an original line machine?
@@PlanningwithCrystal that would be amazing! I have a vertuo machine and was looking into getting a Barista Recipe Maker but am not finding any information or recipes utilizing vertuo machine pods in the jug or in conjunction with the vertuo machine/pods 😭
Oooh I see you have the creatista there. I am undecided whether to upgrade to that or just get a barista milk frother. I mainly drink milky coffees. Thoughts?
@@rhythmisadancer8394 yes absolutely! As long as you clean the steam wand (wipe it) after each use, use steam purge (which is mostly automatic anyway) and give it regular deep cleans, it's fine! Absolutely love ours and highly recommend it. Rarely see the fancy milk frother in stock so glad we took the plunge.
It's the standard Nespresso app (I got it from the app store) and in the top right hand corner when the app is open, you'll see 'my machine' to click on. It's not that clear where to find that, hope it helps x

Just want to say for the cappuccino recipe the coffee should be poured into the CUP not the jug, and only the milk goes into the jug...
11:16 I didn't know I have to keep cap on thermometer while reading temp, thanks
Hi, thank you for the indepth review. Interms of hot chocolate drink consistency/texture how would you compare to the Velvetiser?
Yes please! This kind of video’s are great so please post some more. ❤️
Did you try with powdered chocolate?
I have just won one of these in a raffle in work, but do I need to have another Nespresso machine to brew the coffee capsule first.
Congratulations, great prize!

Was going to see how to wash the little thing inside. My instructions say to take it apart but I can't see how it can be taken apart at all.

Hi, would you recommend to buy Creatista or Essenza+Barista? I only prefer drinks with milk
Excelente! Thank you
Thanks ! Amazing review

I like having both as I feel the Barista does a better job with the milk but its definitely more of a want than a need.
Wondering exactly the same!
Magnificent ,thank you.
Thank you 👍🏻

Milk lab almond milk is what real barista's use
It depends so heavily on the exact milk you use. I use only plant milks and I have tried them all and have a handful of the ones that work well for me in hot drinks. Experiment.
@Mrhibyez there are special Barrista editions of Oat and Almond milks available on the MKT especially to that purpose
Why the amount is too little?
When you pair it with your phone, Is there an option that says you have a vertuo machine or are there any recipes that use the vertuo pods? Or is this barista machine only useful if you have an original line machine?
There is no option to show Vertuo pod options, I just adapt using Vertuo coffee - I could look at filing a video to show I do this.

Don buy the creatista as the milk frothier breaks down and is a common problem

Should not use metal spoon
Olé (12:58) 😆😆😆
💖
I have an Aeroccino3 and to be honest I did not see any difference between them and I think this Barista one is overpriced.
Can you pour hot chocolate powder inside?
This makes any sort of recipes
So, in short, it's a frother promax 😀😀😀😀
It's a nice looking machine but for just heating and frothing milk it's overly complicated. I swear by my Breville Milk cafe
If you like a nice milk foam, do not buy this machine. It´s probably the worst one. Just buy an aeroccino. It´s cheaper and it works really good
You could not be more wrong as I have it for 3 years and I have used every aeroccino in existence. It is all in the milk.
