What is wafer paper?
Wafer paper is a sheet of edible paper, typically starch-based.
It’s safe to eat and the flavor is very subtle - so it won’t interfere with what’s going on in your cake.
You can manipulate wafer paper in all kinds of ways, another reason why it’s so great for cake decorating.
Ingredients: potato starch, water, and vegetable oil.

Excellent job 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 greetings from Peru 🇵🇪
Thank you very much!
Amazing work thank you
Thank you! Happy Holidays!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I just booked a wedding cake that wants to use this exact process and you really saved me a ton of trial and error. The bride doesn't like fondant. Do you think this technique would work ok with a crusting buttercream? I'm worried it would be too much moisture!
❤
Excellent tutorial Anna! Thank you! 😊💕
Glad it was helpful!
@@floreacakes thanks for class please how can attach it to buttercream
@@_Toluwaleyi_ same as you do for sugar flowers. Buttercream won't melt wafer paper
@@floreacakes thanks a lot .❤❤
Hi, love your tutorials. Can you please let me know if you can put wafer paper snow on buttercream cakes!!!!
Unfortunatly, I know know your recipe, humidity and environment. I would suggest you to try and let me know!
Great tutorial Anna, I am piling up leftover wafer paper and didn't know what to do. You mention that a food processor like a Nutribullet is too coarse. Will the milling (coffee grinding) attachment make it finer in Nutribullet perhaps?
Yes! You can use something like a coffee/spice grinder, if you want it super-fine. If I need to make a lot, I use a combination of food processor to make coarse crumble and coffee grinder to make it "snow-y" texture
@@floreacakes thanks so much for the great advice
I wonder if powdered sugar can be mixed with the wafer paper snow to sweeten it before applying? I also wonder if the snow can be applied to the cake by brushing on ever clear or vodka??
Interesting idea! Powdered sugar might dissolve if you are in a humid environment, so I would play around and test
If I want to color this green for “moss” would I use powder coloring?
Yes! You can airbrush your wafer paper prior to using coffee grinder or you can add green powder dust with your wafer paper while grinding.
@@floreacakes thank you! I love how helpful and thorough your tutorials are 💕
Can you put this wafer paper snow to American buttercream?
Please let me know if you try!
Hi. Can I use rice paper instead of wafer paper?
Let me know if you try! I'm not sure what type of rice paper you are referring to
@@floreacakes ok sounds good. Went to get rice paper and it was sold out. I'll make this cake with snow white cotton candy this time :) Thank you.
