Rage and Cypress Hill were/are good friends that played and/or toured together a lot, esp in the earlier days - I was also fortunate enough to witness both bands onstage together in '95 playing Cypress Hill's "A to the K" together as a switchover track - it was Cypress Hill's last song of their show and Rage's 1st song of their show! Rage's most hip-hop track is probably "Mic Check" on the 3rd album, my favourite from them though is probably "Without a face" from the 2nd album Evil Empire.
"Arm the homeless" is an intentionally provocative and militant statement to grab attention and make people think. The idea is kind of like this: the homeless are the victims of the economic gun to the head of the populace, held by the owners of economic capital. So what if you gave the homeless the tools to fight back and the people exploiting the poor had to be afraid for a change. It's not a literal suggestion to arm the homeless, but a reminder that some systems of violence are invisible and accepted while others are not. Economic disparity/disadvantage harms and kills countless people all the time, and we feel completely comfortable about that, but the idea of a homeless person with a gun makes us uncomfortable. Some harm is more socially acceptable than others.

You should totally check the connection between this band and Cypress Hill yo, it'll make so much sense. Also, 100% agree with the folks sayin Arm the Homeless is a provocative statement to highlight the criminality of homelessness as a thing that exists, like they don't have any representation in society at all and that's pretty shitty, so it draws people's attention to a problem and gets a conversation going. Coupled with the general vibe that goes with RATM I'd argue it's a perfect fit for their style.
Zack De La Rocha, KRS-One & The Last Emperor - C.I.A. (Criminals In Action), BTW B-Real was a front man for Rage when Zack left, also formed Prophets of Rage with Chuck D.

A woman I worked with years ago used to babysit Tom Morello when he was little. Hometown boy done good for himself!
Ghost of Tom Joad next
They have covered plenty cypress hill... He also has solo shit, and killa mike collaborations... Zach De La Rocha is in my top 3 favorite MC's... Mos Def and Andre 3000 are the other two....
Check out their Finsbury Park concert. 50k fans for free in the UK. They trolled Simon from American Idol to make Killing in the Name #1 song and not the American Idol winner over Christmas which was typical. Insane! Politically, Killing in THY Name.
They played at Woodstock 99
Listen to
Their cover « How could i just kill a man ».
Check out Zach's feature on Run the Jewels Ju$t with Pharrell. He does more than hold his own with Killer Mike and El-P.
FYI. B real has done a song with rage. "How I could just kill a man"
You gotta listen to wake up. their best song. in fact you have to listen to the whole first album.
It's funny that you mention B Real. Tim, Tom and Brad toured with B Real and Chuck D under the name of Prophets of Rage. Great show, but I got to see Rage when they got back together and toured in 2022, that was epic. Too bad they broke up again.
9:54 Have you seen Cypress Hill on "Tiny Desk Radio"???
You should totally check the connection between this band and Cypress Hill yo, it'll make so much sense.
Also, 100% agree with the folks sayin Arm the Homeless is a provocative statement to highlight the criminality of homelessness as a thing that exists, like they don't have any representation in society at all and that's pretty shitty, so it draws people's attention to a problem and gets a conversation going. Coupled with the general vibe that goes with RATM I'd argue it's a perfect fit for their style.
BP!!!!!❤❤❤
Renegades of Funk next!!!
It's not as popular but man, it's a must hear. Funky and hip hop AF!!!✊️
Saw Rage at Lollapalooza '92 - they were not even on the 1st Stage back then. #myformerlyhotlife
They best ❤😂
Zack De La Rocha, KRS-One & The Last Emperor - C.I.A. (Criminals In Action), BTW B-Real was a front man for Rage when Zack left, also formed Prophets of Rage with Chuck D.
The last emperor was so underrated that dude is a cipher
Prophets of Rage...B and Chuck D with Rage
Zach De La Rocha is one of the best rappers of all time👊 next song Bulls On Parade
That group is called prophets of rage maybe you should check it out
