- The ice threat keeps increasing for the Piedmont of the Carolinas, including the City of Charlotte.
While we will see some snow in Charlotte, the sleet and freezing rain set-up will dominate this storm.

Based on our history in this region of Upstate SC, just hour south of Charlotte we dont really get snow ever. If we get anything its usually Ice and sleet. They say we will get some snow this time, but I will believe it when I see it. Been over 5 years since any snow accumulation in Upstate

As a retired corporate pilot I do know a little about weather, and everything I know about weather came from my college meteorology class. The professor said there is only one way to get your weather 100% CORRECT, all the time.
Go over to a window, open the window, stick your head out of that window and look around. You can be certain what the weather will be at that point.

I agree, people can't drive here when it rains. I feel bad for all the first responders that have to go out in this weather to rescue people that should have stayed home but crashed their cars instead. Please everyone, stay home! It's only for 2 days, then you can go back to your normal lives on Tuesday.

Just last night they were saying that the foothills through maybe hickory was going to be freezing rain and ice and just about 10 or 12 hours they moved the ice on over towards Charlotte and i-85 and now they're saying that Foothills Morganton Lenoir area is going to get 12 in of snow by tomorrow they'll move that on over to Charlotte the Foothills won't get anything and I'll be all happy about it needs all of this horrible winter weather I don't thanks for the update
