    I'm getting ready to dive in to make some of these to decorate with for my daughter's wedding. We love that you show how to make a peony bud and a partially opened one with the round inner part. I hope I can get practiced enough really quickly so that mine looks as beautifully real as yours do.

    Hi Suzy, I can’t figure out when you use petal number 5? Is that after the heart shaped petal? Instructions don’t mention petal 5

    • @suzyrebelo
      @suzyrebelo  Рік тому

      Hello. Petal #5 a & b are the leaflettes. I used 3 of the round ones around the base of the flower (once the flower is made) then glue the straw, then glue the small leaflettes (I used 5) around the flower base onto the straw creating a little collar. Then wrap the floral tape. The little paper collar helps adhere the floral tape to the straw. It just makes it easier to start the floral tape. The link to instructions shows the order. I think I made it confusing because petal 5 is the same pattern for a petal and a leaf. In video part 2 I used it as a petal to make the bud and as a leaf at the base of the bud flower. Part 3 shows how to paint the filters and make the leaves. Hope this helps. I had to make this video in 3 parts because there was too much to cover. Thanks for watching and happy flower making. !

    You've done such a wonderful job with your tutorials and templates! I sure do appreciate you. I'm working on a birthday bouquet of peonies for a friend. I could not find the styro balls anywhere today and I went to 3 places, so i'm going to try to make some ping pong balls work. Hubs is concerned with the disappearance of our coffee filters and worries that I won't leave any for coffee. I know you're still working on more parts for the peony, but I sure would love to see your take on a sunflower!

    • @suzyrebelo
      @suzyrebelo  Рік тому +2

      Oh oh! Time for a new Cappuccino machine. Ha ha. I’m surprised you can’t find the balls. I’m in Canada and I’ve seen them online at Walmart, Michael’s, Amazon. They are a little more expensive. Let me know if the ping pong balls work. I’ve never attempted sunflowers. I’m still up to my eyeballs in peonies ha ha. I’ll add it to my list of flowers to try. I think you’ll like part 2 and 3 for your bouquet. I know it’s going to be fabulous. Happy flower making.

      So glad you liked this. I bought the wire , floral tape and styrofoam balls at the dollar store in the craft section. The balls were 6 in a bag for 1.50. I’m sure you could buy them at a craft store too.

    Thank you so much for such detailed instructions. You have inspired me to make these beautiful peonies. I also make other types of flowers, so Im wondering if I can use peonies templates that I already have to make them ? Thank you again. They are absolutely beautiful. I’m hoping, you could make a video of roses.

      Hi there. I bought mine at the dollar store., party supply section, ’ve also seen them in grocery store in paper cups , napkins, paper plate section. You might try Walmart, bbq supply section. Party supply store? That’s all I can think of … if you can’t find them then you could use bathroom tissue paper wound around the wire and wrapped in the floral tape. Basically, thicken the stem a bit, that would work too. Hope this helps and thanks for watching.

    Suzy these are beautiful. Can you tell me what the costs savings would be considering your time in comparison to those at Hobby Lobby?
    Thank you

      @suzyrebelo  Рік тому +1

      Thank you. I'm not familiar with hobby lobby, I did look them up. Their flowers are nice too. There isn't a cost savings, it's more about doing this craft for fun and being creative . However, I think these flowers are nicer and more valued because they are handmade. Thanks for watching and sharing

    Absolutely wonderful! I searched incase it was already mentioned/asked, but not seeing anything. How long does it take you to make each of the peony styles you teach? Just curious roughly how much time once one gets the process down for a general reference.

    How do u get your paper so crunchy?

    • @suzyrebelo
      @suzyrebelo  Рік тому

      No special trick. Wetting and drying the paper gives you lots of texture. Crinkling the petals as you go gives it texture too. Hope this helps and happy flower making.
