I’ve been building my falcam accessory kit. It’s been so seamless and easy to have a camera, rig it, break it down, put it on a tripod, on a gimbal, and so much more.
Very cool stuff, I'm a big fan and customer of Falcam, I've been using it for the last 3 years, and I'm not even a pro, just a hobbyist and very happy with the custome care and built quality of the devices. I have only one issue with the A7RV cage that makes it harder to switch video/photo as the space is too narrow and not having cages to cover the battery grip on it. Besides my cage, everything else is part of falcam Ecosystem.
Yup… i agree with everything you said. I even get the same issues. I do wish i could buy some extra screws for the f22 plates just in case. But those arms they made are top notch quality. Strongest I ever used.
Great video. Love the Falcam system. Have the Tree Root and quite a few small accessories. The magic arm is incredibly strong. The iPhone magsafe mount is my favorite.
Agreed on everything you said. I just bought the treeroot F38 tripod. The ballhead mechanism is so innovative! It could pan it as well. That's the beauty if I'm shooting panoramas. The versatility of the entire tripod is amazing. A lot of consumers may not this that this tripod M40 variant of carbon fibre, which is used for the Airbus A350 composite body, hence why the tripod is the stiffest in the market
Nice review. Good choice on being so enthusiastic on the Ulanzi/Falcam stuff. There’s lots out there to choose from, but few being as comprehensive as this line. Luckily, the quality is good too and of course it doesn’t break the bank building with it. I’ve tried some other makes such as Kondor Blue, Smallrig, Sirui, Tilta for some examples and unfortunately spent allot of dough trying one and the other just to see what works for me. But this gave me a good understanding of where the Ulanzi/Falcam sit amongst them. My opinion is, all these manufacturers have a sub-niche they are kind of known for. It just gets frustrating when you like some stuff from one brand and some from another but you run into proprietary issues that limit what can be safely and reliably mixed and matched. Really, all these brands make awesome stuff. Since Ulanzi/Falcam upgraded their F22/F38 echo system, it may be the best overall system in everyday use for plates and tripods. Tilta has some far out designs and their accessories seem to be very specific to a handful of camera models. They are also on the expensive side. Smallrig makes everything for everybody, but their strength is small parts for rig building. Kondor Blue wants to be a premium brand and charges accordingly, some of their offerings are nice. If you want a well made tripod and want to keep costs down, not many brands offer as large a line up as Sirui. Then we have Ulanzi and Falcam. Falcam seems to be the premium version of goods sold by this company. I have plenty of Ulanzi stuff and though it falls more into the budget category, I like the items I have. They had a hit with their Zero Y tripod and it appears to have broke the dam as the models have multiplied with a much larger line up now. Sorry for the ramble, but the point here is, for tripod plates, the updated Falcam F22/F38 is a great echo system to buy. You can stick with this and know you have one of the better systems available in the market. The quality is good, the selection of accessories is good and it is not the most expensive stuff out there. Cheers!
Bought this cage and a few of the f22 mounts, along with the peak designs camera strap with the falcam quick release connected to it, absolute game changer when it comes to run and gun type stuff. with my s5iix i can go from taking pictures, to shooting rollers in 2 min
OK, this video TOTALLY sold me on that system. I have been ABOUT TO go and buy a bunch of standard Arca Swiss plates and bases for about five years now. But I just couldn't find anything that wasn't almost as much of a pain as simply screwing and unscrewing the tripod to the camera. That is because so many of the other things that I might want to attach to didn't or couldn't have an Arca Swiss plate mounted to it. And that thumb-screw tightening system for almost all Arca Swiss bases sticks out so far that it just gets in the way. So, I have literally been keeping my wallet in my pocket for five years because I just couldn't find anything that was really worth the money. But.... Here is one question: Does SmallRig make rigs that are compatible with Falcam F38 or F22 bases? That would really open up a lot more possibilities for me. OR.... Could I just mount a Falcam F22 plate onto a SmallRig rig to then be able to quickly attach one of those "Magic Arms" to that?
@ I just went to Falcam's site, and they do have a rig for my Sony A6700. It's not as nice as the Smallrig cage. But, on the SmallRig cage, I would have to mount that additional F22 plate. That would then make the SmallRig too uncomfortable to hold. So I would have to constantly mount and remove that plate... utterly defeating the purpose. So, the Falcam cage it is!
Just starting using Falcam, really impressed with it so far. Only issue i have had is that not all the accessories and cages are available on their site, which is strange as other shops sell them.
@@DustinArmstrongPro yes i was trying to find a cage for the a7cr. Also the f22 to cold shoe adapter they do not have - i was hoping this would attach to camera hot shoe to allow f22 attachments. I assume this is what it is for, have used one?
Can you release the magnetic strap connector end thingies with one hand? I don't want to have to set the camera down to be able to remove a strap from it.
Can you use the small rig hawk lock h21 with the any of the falcon quick release system pieces though?. I’d like to start switching because hawk lock is much more pricey, but it wouldn’t make sense if I couldn’t use my current set.
Yes you can! Just get the F22 plates attached to the smallrig cage and you are ready to go. I did that since Falcam doesn't have cages for cameras with battery grip attached to it, so I added F22 plates on it and everything is back to Falcam Ecosystem :)
Standards i greats! So let have more of that :) I stay with Arca Swiss. And If I am forced to it: Manfrotto (When it is not my own gear etc.) Thats is enough.
Seriously, can't go anywhere without your guy's big support!♥
Thanks for making great camera accessories!
any canon r6 m2 cage ?

Couldn't agree more!
Would be good to see this tripod to gimbal this is something I am interested in

Soooooo convenient
This looks like a great upgrade for ease to use gear. Thanks for the video
I'm a big fan
I feel you, I have been getting more and more of their accessories over past 1 year 😂
That's the way to do it!
10:15 - What you are wanting is called, "captured screws."
Dustin, you’re a cool man! 😎 good luck!
🙏

Small rig does not. This is proprietary to falcam. But you can mount the f22 and f38 plates to anything like a small rig cage and still use it.

Interesting I haven't noticed that

Bro :))) that magnet clip actually pulled a car
Pulled an electric truck actually which is much heavier
Legend has it he's still charging his electric truck by that strap to this day.
In this economy unfortunately yes😭
What is the difference between this system and the Smallrig Hawklock?
I think Hawklock works with anything nato but it's fairly new so I haven't used it
Can you release the magnetic strap connector end thingies with one hand? I don't want to have to set the camera down to be able to remove a strap from it.
Yes you just pull up with one hand on the magnet. I've never had to set it down to remove the strap
YOU'RE IN YOUR MOMS BASEMENT I KNEW IT
Don't rub it in
Can you use the small rig hawk lock h21 with the any of the falcon quick release system pieces though?. I’d like to start switching because hawk lock is much more pricey, but it wouldn’t make sense if I couldn’t use my current set.
No you can't unless you put little falcam plates on
Damn. Seems like a missed opportunity:D
can you hybrid this? so use it with small rig and others?
Depends what you mean by that
Yes you can! Just get the F22 plates attached to the smallrig cage and you are ready to go. I did that since Falcam doesn't have cages for cameras with battery grip attached to it, so I added F22 plates on it and everything is back to Falcam Ecosystem :)
Is the falcam system compatible with smallrigs new hawklock system? It looks very similar!
No it's not but you can put rails on the falcam cage to make it compatible
Standards i greats! So let have more of that :) I stay with Arca Swiss. And If I am forced to it: Manfrotto (When it is not my own gear etc.) Thats is enough.
The F38 plates work with ARCA swiss mounts😉
@@DustinArmstrongPro That sounds reasonable!
@@DustinArmstrongPro That F38 spots on cage will be work good on the tripod with ARCA mount?
I’d love to move over but I’m soooo invested in the Smallrig accessories.
Just slowly start collecting one by one😏
I got some but i don't know what are the 2 little screws that it comes with it 🤦♂️🤷♂️
Can someone tell or knows 🤔?
You use those on the small plates to help prevent it from spinning. But not all mounts have holes for those little screws to be on the plates
@DustinArmstrongPro thanks 😎🤙
I'm a bit confused. Is Falcam separate brand or is it just Ulanzi's name for the mount system?
I don't really know the relationship but I believe Falcam is separate
I recommend The Tilta Hydra Electronic Suction Cup it's OGM so good!!
These work great for my needs. Sounds cool though!
