    What I use are plates that has a QD socket and a QD clip. The system was invented by MagPul for guns. The first I saw it was with Really Right Stuff plates that integrated the QD socket into the plate. I have since seen a few others such as SmallRig starting to use this. And you can get Black Rapid slings with QD clips now.
    The benefit is the camera sits flat on a table. i.e. the base plate consumes enough of the bottom surface and it also incorporates an Arca Swiss (e.g. F38) dove tail.
    You can also buy clips from Magpul and build your own slings which is what I do. I might have been the one that got Black Rapid to change.

    nice review, and I think maybe sound blanket will improve your recording quality ! now it sounds you have some echo problem.

      Thanks.
      I have a new mic since this video was shot which I think improved the sound quality, but always trying to level up.

    Thanks for the video. Have you had any issues with the base plate getting loose on the camera? My PD plate has stayed firmly in place for months now, hoping the F38 is similar.

      None more than any other plate.

    Is this camera clip wide enough for the PGYTech OneMo backpack? These straps are kinda wide on this backpack

    Very detailed review! How would you compare the Falcam F38 to Ulanzi Claw? I am trying to decide between Ulanzi U-70 vs Ulanzi U-100 Ball Head

    • @chrisguess
      @chrisguess  3 роки тому +1

      I haven’t used the claw but it looks like an interesting option, not as versatile as the F38 with strap mounts etc. Also the lift up release could be an issue in some rigs.
      Likewise the U70 would be more versatile than the U100.

      @@chrisguess Thanks, I agree! I actually returned the U-100 and bought U-70 and all the falcam F38 attachments

    Can you buy the base separately as I need 4 bases and only 1 base plate

    is that ulanzi u-120 ball head? how is it?

    • @chrisguess
      @chrisguess  2 роки тому

      Yeah I think so it’s good, although it takes a bit of getting used to as it’s upside down compared to almost all other ball heads.

    hey my friend, i dont mean to criticize too much, but I am wondering what is wrong with your audio, I cant tell what mic that is, maybe a Blue yeti or something? either way it doesnt sound like you have it directed towards your mouth, may need to adjust where you place the mic to increase your audio quality. Keep it up!

      I've been testing a new USB mic and I'm not too happy either. I don't think position was a problem but I can't quite get it sounding right.
