Had the vinyl that I bought brand new at a little record shop on the corner of like 6th and State St. in Marysville, WA. That record store gave birth to my love of metal. The guys who ran that place ordered anything I wanted; Coven, Rigor Mortis, Nuclear Assault, etc. This is an amazing album.

My friend gave me this tape years ago and the tape was all wore out and it played a tiny bit slower with a deeper tone and it sounded pure evil. But I love both versions.this version and the wore out cassette version.haha

Discovered this album bum when I was a teen in the late 80's early 90's . It was in a used record / cassette store . My friend liked the album cover and so he decided to try it . It quickly became one of our favorite sing-a-long albums of that summer . lol . I have never been able to find it again until now . Thank you .
What the heck became of such a bad azz album, band? Nothing else they wrote came close. I thought I had a winner when I was 15 yrs old with these Guys!

THIS CD IS SO GOOD I HAD TO POST AGAIN! I AM A SERIOUS METAL HEAD SINCE THE DAY KILL'EM ALL CAME OUT AND THIS WHOLE ALBUM STILL STANDS UP TODAY EVERY EFFING SONG!!!! IT IS AN AMAZING CD AND IF THERE WAS AN AWARD FOR BEST 80'S THRASH ALBUM I SERIOUSLY WOULD VOTE FOR COVEN BLESSED IS THE BLACK !!

I was looking up these guys and found the older classic rock predecessors (1969) and it made me wonder how they got around the copyright issues to call themselves the same name.
I know this is an old comment but yes actually it did. This band went on to change their name to "coven 6669" and that's a more specific way to search for them.

This is not power nor thrash metal! It`s pure Heavy Metal! Good album from a good band! Simple,heavy and cool! Total 80`s style!
The song "Mcdonaldland Massacre" is a thrash metal track,but other ones,in this album,are pure Heavy Metal,in my opinion.
Even the first song on the album is not heavy metal, it is thrash through and through, what are you talking about. Pure heavy metal? So... this is Judas Priest... yeah ok then.
