Silver is indeed the best conductor of electricity, but there are several practical reasons why copper is more commonly used for electrical wiring:
    1. **Cost**: Silver is significantly more expensive than copper. The cost difference makes copper a much more economical choice for most applications, especially when large quantities of wire are needed.
    2. **Availability**: Copper is more abundant than silver, making it more readily available and easier to source in the quantities required for electrical wiring.
    3. **Mechanical Properties**: Copper has excellent mechanical properties for wire manufacturing. It is ductile and can be easily drawn into thin wires without breaking. While silver also has good mechanical properties, the cost and availability factors make copper more practical.
    4. **Corrosion Resistance**: While silver does tarnish when exposed to air (forming a layer of silver sulfide), copper also forms a protective oxide layer when exposed to air. This oxide layer prevents further corrosion, making copper wires durable in most environments.
    5. **Applications**: Silver is often used in specialized applications where its superior conductivity is critical, such as in certain electronic components, high-end audio cables, and connectors. However, for general electrical wiring in buildings, appliances, and other common applications, copper provides a good balance of conductivity, cost, and practicality.
Overall, while silver's superior conductivity is advantageous, the practical considerations of cost, availability, and suitable properties make copper the preferred choice for most electrical wiring needs. 17:15

Q.1 07:13 Ans. Copper is the preferred wiring for our home over aluminum because of its ease of use and ability to effectively conduct electricity. Remember that aluminium conducts less well when we compare it with copper but copper is comparatively heavier The density of aluminium is only one third of the density of copper so the light weight of aluminium is the main reason for using aluminium instead of copper in overhead connections.

There are two main reasons why overhead power cables are made of aluminium while copper is used in our homes:
    1. Weight:
Aluminium is significantly lighter than copper. This is crucial for overhead power lines because the weight of the cables puts a strain on the towers and support structures. Using lighter aluminium cables reduces this stress and allows for longer spans between towers, making construction and maintenance more cost-effective.
    2. Cost:
Aluminium is much cheaper than copper. While copper offers better conductivity for the same size wire, the cost advantage of aluminium outweighs this benefit in long-distance power transmission. Additionally, the larger diameter needed for aluminium to achieve the same conductivity as copper still results in a lighter overall weight.

Aluminium has 61% of copper conductivity . It is also cheaper than copper.

Tensile strength of copper is twice that of aluminum, which makes it ideal for electrical conductivity at home. On the other side, it is not a good choice for high voltage lines. This is because high voltage line transmissions involve lots of bending of the cable when doing installation.

We don't use silver wires in place of aluminium or copper wires because silver is a very good condector of electricity and if the electricity flow very faster then there will be held a spark.
