“I’ve got the coolest boys in the world”…. Spoken by the world’s proudest Papa 😊
A little bit of homesteading and a lot of sell, sell sell!
Nothing wrong with that. In this day and age you can't afford to give it away. Can you imagine raising five children and caring for all those animals? Be realistic, man. He's doing what most would call impossible.
I mean I get what you're saying but this type of information is given away for free everyday all across America. Farmers get together over coffee talk, discuss, work together and brainstorm in rural towns all across America. They're happy to share and help for free, they work regular jobs or work just their land and feed their families without the sales pitch. I get what Justin is doing and why but at the same time the information he is selling is given away freely for motivated people to gather and utilize and not only in rural America but across the internet.
I love how focused and interested in getting the chores done the kids are and how well they know the routine and how to take care of the animals. Gideon is just a pure joy to see. I think becoming a big brother has helped him mature.
Proof of what can be done if you're not on the video games
I have been watching your channel since you were carrying Mr. Brown around on your back. I happened across your videos on chickens and was hooked. I have enjoyed watching you and your family and farm grow. You have so much useful information and very entertaining. Thank you. I have been praying for your son. God's healing touch for his up coming surgery.
That area where you are trying to grow squash lolks like the wood chips are pulling your nitrogen there. That would explain the yellowing of the leaves as well. A cover crop would be amazing there to replenish nitrogen in the area. 😊
I always wondered why it was call the holler house and not the Rhodes house........ good to know😊😊😊
Hope Jonah has surgery soon. Sending prayers 🙏
That was just lovely ❤️ You both have raised such beautiful humans. Seeing little Lilly in the kitchen and your big boys out on the farm on machines 😳 and Gideon really coming into his own. All that patience and love is paying off so visibly. Young Henry is growing so fast 🥰 and what an enthusiastic helper.
Such a pleasure to watch. Well done to you all ❤️❤️❤️
Love how you guys have made the cabin your home even if it is just temporary 🥰
Yo tambien = Me too
Tambien = Also or Too
Great video, Justen. It does not happen all at once that is for sure. The term you were looking for when you were talking about children, the business of the homestead and your needs was coined by Jim Rohn, “Enlightened self interest.”
Hello. I have very much enjoyed watching ur family over the last 3 plus years since I have became disabled from a serious illness. When u said u didn't know how the weeds r growing so well in the little green house, I was thinking it was acting like a terrarium pulling the moisture up from the ground. I know ground plants grow better because they pull water from the ground and don't just get water from above. Thank u so much for sharing ur lives with ur UA-cam family. B
Henry is growing so fast and such a ham. I looking forward to the Hollar building
Great video very entertaining
Never looked up the word holler. Thanks. Country wird for Valley. Great definition.
Really enjoyed this. Very entertaining! 👍😂🤣😂👏👏👏
Always enjoy you videos, Justin. You have an awesome farm, and an amazing family. God Bless you all, from Southeast Texas!
🇦🇺Print a recipe book for each of your kids. I done this a few years ago for my grandchildren. I collected favourite recipes from my mum and each of my girls, husband as well. Appetisers, main meals and desserts. Now they will always have it. I personalised it with their name, Brodie’s recipe book 1. I’m in the process of making another one for Christmas gifts.
I did that, too! I bought all my grandkids the empty recipe binders off Amazon and got them started with their favorite recipes and old family recipes. Now I add to them and what’s very cool is that they are adding to their own, too!
I also started “Hope Chests” for each of them. In our family the girls got beautiful Hope Chests when we turned 16. But I bought them for the boys, too.
I’ve made quilts for each one and I had everybody choose a Christmas china pattern that I add another place setting to every year. But I also had to find krumkakke irons and Swedish spritz cookie guns for them all so they could make the family cookie recipes.
I have a lot of fun collecting things they will have when they are grown and I am gone. 🤎
@@drummerlovesbookworm9738 I did mine through photobook, it was pricey but they loved it. They will always have it as a reminder of me.
You do have the coolest boys in the world, Justin! You also have the best daughter and the sweetest wife! And you have an amazing homestead with such a history of hard work and love of the land. Rebekah, I used to listen to Dr. Laura Schlessinger, too, and really enjoyed how she would take people to task. I didn't know she was even still on the air.
My new favorite quote, "Too blessed to be stressed." -Justin Rhodes.
I love seeing mr. Broun grow
You are a hard worker,Lilly🎉❤
It’s a good thing that you have a quiver of children! You must have some busy days!!
I just watched your Program. I am Balkony Gardener. Grow Potatoes Carrots,Brand Tomatoes ,Peppers and Herbs. For a little Colour some Flowers. I enjoy it very much. It is so much fun, when I can harvest something.I make sure to watch all your Shows. Have learned at lot from you, thank you so much.
Great job you guys! Your kids are awesome and so are you guys 🤗❤️🙏
I enjoy your wisdom/nostalgia moments most 😊 you have a lot for share. Reminds me of Erik Erikson stages of development. Ultimately we choose stagnation or generativiity. You pass on to us what you've experienced and learned.
Ps. It was nice to briefly in passing shake both your and the beautiful one's hand, say hello, and get a hug at the Tennessee festival. My fiance and I told you we watch every day. So happy for all your successes, and we pray for your continued excellent health! Much love from sweet home♡ alabama
Wonderful progress & patience as you have so much to do! Great family cooperation! Thanks for sharing! Blessings to all 🤗💜🇨🇦
Hey, Justin. It's interesting how you interpret and implement "permaculture".
Justin my husband and I followed you for years, although you were younger you were our mentor. On 02/02/2023 my husband went to Jesus at the age of 54 and my life took a very bad turn 😔😭 I'm struggling to find my way "back"! One day I just longed for something I can feel connected to him with. I thought of you and your family. I've been binge watching to catch up. On the 20th March our grandson Noah was born. He spent time with granny to keep me focused and he started listening to your vlogs. Now I believe he might be your youngest fan. He is currently watching this video again. His parents follow you guys now as well 🤗 it's so adorable! If he doesn't wake up to you his mom is in trouble 😁, homesteader in the making. Greetings from South Africa 🤗🌻
So sorry for your loss😢
I am excited for your book on homestead builds. I will have to rig a harness for miniature donkeys , or horses to pull them for me though as I am paralyzed on one side of my body due to a brain injury at 24.
Thank you for the tour!
A lot of craziness and fun and never a dull moment, just love watching you!
I would add freezer alarms to the freezers below the construction area. It will notify you if the temp raises above freezing. I would hate to see you loose that much meat 😮
I've been watching Lumna acres, and they have a system where the hens lay their eggs and the eggs roll away from the chickens, and the hens don't poop on the eggs! Ingenious. I wish I could explain how they built it but if you turn to their channel I'm sure they explain it very well
When I fantasy plan my homestead house, it includes 4 dishwashers. That is where the dishes should live.
put lime on that hard ground and cover with compost then tarp, that will loosen the soil so you can till it for a garden. nice
We did a food collection of same day expiring food. It was to support people in need because a lot could be frozen and used as needed. One thing I thought was what if the salad bags (which you couldn't eat, it was too far gone) went to feed pigs. There's so much food waste but pork could be the answer.
Not “yo tambien” but “y tambien” so close! And I can’t wait for the pretty Shaw! Imma paint mine pink. 😍
Nice working spirit yall. Hold on strong
All of THIS!🙌🏼💞💪🙏❣️
Happy Father’s Day!!
I love watching your videos, so inspiring 😊❤
you are going to have a great barn sale one day!
With the cottage you are currently living in, I hope you have another door that opens in case of emergency. I hope the front door is not your only exit
What an awesome video. Thanks for showing reality Justin!
With all the things Lilly does for the family I think she deserves a horse :P
INDEED!!! ❤😊
Your sheep Shaw you should do a door flap on top to access the mineral containers easier to fill for Rebecca
REBECCA, now we just need your gluten free cookbook....
I am loving the transformation in Gideon. I am eating humble pie. I confess I doubted anyone could light a fire under him. But, Justin, you did it! Your patience is beyond bounds. My sincere apology for ever having doubted you. Or Gideon! God bless your family.
also=tambien. you were close. great work on these videos. love it when you get into the technical details.keep it up.
Have a “Happy Father’s Day !!!!”
Best video in ages
Mr. Brown becoming your right hand man, too blessed to be stressed.
I so agree with you Justin about the getting a little better every year. We are going on 14 years and it's a bit better set-up every year. It's been a journey getting things we need to run the hobby farm over all these years. Our hobby farm is little, less than 10 acres. We just have small animals; chickens, turkey, ducks, goat, and a bunny besides a house/yard cat . We have raised pigs before but not this year. I just got a large Gorilla cart and we have to take down several trees from Emerald Ash Borer damage so that will help with stacking the fire wood! Lily is a fantastic cook! Cute with the real kiss! Vanilla is doing so good! Nice job training her for milking Justin! You can just milk her in the pasture! You got Sally back? Good idea to use the winch! It was the mud that slid you back into the trench. It was great to see all the boys had cleared with the equipment after seeing you clearing with chainsaws last winter. Soooo much faster and perhaps safer? The new silvopasture is looking great. That was a great tour of the improved and ever improving Rhodes homestead!
I didn’t realize how big it is in there I have seen it many of times
I am not the only one with a recipe binder! Nice. That's how I've been doing it for a longgg time too. I need a bigger binder though soon..
Love how you two were doing workouts together. So much work that was being done in this. Good job.
“Yo” means me as you know. 😊 tambien is also. Esto is “this” so instead of “yo” it’s esto tambien. Love that you’re learning Spanish ❤! Great job!
Gideon is a little business man
For the longest time I thought you guys were related to Ben and Meg of "The Hollar Homestead" because of your "Holler House".
Love this idea
I just watched your DIY Plan Kickstarter ad on another video I was watching. 2.5 minutes and it was brilliant. Nicely done.
Love the Rhett and Link reference. 🤣
The home my dad was raised in became the chicken coop when I was alive. I laughed when I saw it. It was the size of a large shed or my NYC bedroom.
A great vid!!!¡
Loretta Lynn's birthplace was in a holler in Kentucky.
10:45 IF you rebuild the roof, why not add 2 floor to your house??? More space!
Least a life loft, that would be beautiful, special railings around it, and staircase to match. That would be great for the older kids, I know the stairs would not be able to be used by Jonah for awhile but I bet Lillie would love it. Just a thought! Love you guy's!
Life not supposed to be there, crazy phone

Hi ya'll from Barb.from Newport Tennessee
Thank you for a good video
Looks great!
I often think how wonderful it would be for you to teach your boys to be as great as Lily in the kitchen! Would make them fine husbands when they grow up!
Love to see family working together and how the kiddos are actually interested in what they are doing! 😊
Well done. Good job. Good place. Good family. Good your animals. Good luck. I like your video too much.
Don’t sell urself short homie. My first two wives knew less cooking than Lilly, may God bless the whole family yall
Maybe grills up on the beach. Have a little bbq picnic and a dip at the same time.
Can we see more of the renovation
Such a good video today!
Blessings to all!
To you as well 😊
@@beckiepatrick6900
May God bless you more abundantly!
@@dr.rev.lindabingham thank you so much 🙏
I laughed at the green house because I thought my greenhouse was the only one that looked like a jungle in there😆🤣
We love having lots of freezers too 1:07
Would love the gluten free Mac and cheese recipe!
More clearing. Cool!
Always beutiful videos, also en español es también. Being watching your videos si nce i live in los angeles calif, 7 years ago imove to ellenboro nc. And very happy to live here now.
SUPER VIDEO 👍👍👍👍👍👍💯💯🍀
the nitrogen is tied up in your sacrifice pasture so the squash turn yellow.
I'm not trying to be smart but how do you get it 'untied'? How should it be fixed?
Maybe chip those brush piles to increase your wood chip pile
Just what I needed ✅
Did not expect a Rhett and Link reference in this video, hah!
Give Gideon a big stick when he has to deal with that rooster. Just that, and increased confidence, would be all it takes. Just seeing a big stick that cocky cockerel will think twice.
Wood chips soak up the nitrogen in the soil, so you just need to feed them I like the idea of cover crop 2 you have so much going on your doing amazing
"They can leave doors open because technically they were raised in a barn..." 😂😂😂
We would LOVE to try turkeys. It will be next summer. Learning broiler chickens this summer. Encouraging you call them easy birds. Never heard anyone say that before!
I love y’all but I do love me some Greg Judy 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 he was 👆🏻 of the very first that really made look at raising sheep & having livestock dogs. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I love that ❤To Blessed to be Stressed 😇😇😇😇😇🥰
Asparagus will do so well if you keep cutting it. You have an awesome start on that spot.
Chaos!
Man ur Spanish (castellaño) accent is awesome. Ur good 👍 teach the pequeños
Everyone kissing was favorite part
You should put some potatoes on the area the cows are in the winter that way when they grow they could break up tough soil better and you could have potatoes. Potatoes are strong enough to break up harder soil.
Thanks for the tour. Would love to see a video in the cow genetics on your farm. Does Beef Cake breed all your heifers? What about succession?
Not sure if it was noted, however in todays vlog one of the sheep seemed to be limping when you moved them to new pasture. 😊😊
