You may want to consider running a piece of aluminum tape in the trench. You may know where it is now, but five years from now it might be hard to find. Put in the metal tape so you can use a metal detector to find the line.
Oh really good advice!
Great advice. Just like my suggestion of a ram pump. Always hope someone reads it and can appreciate it.
Excellent ideas 🎉😊
or mercury, or straight up uranium!
You are so right because, on my property, I bet I can find half the pipe I have in the ground.
It is so wonderful to see Jonah outside helping as much as he is able again!
Happy Mother’s Day. The moment Lily said she was tired, I knew she was sick. Kudos toJonah and Josiah for hands on learning from their role model, they are mastering the homestead. Gideon likes chores only if they are in they are in the lens of being playful.
Lily is a preteen, she needs special attention among all the males in the family.
She sure does
I love how you let your children learn by doing and starting so young to be so independent on thinking for themselves
I love how critical Jonah is of his own work.
🎉He's a very smart young man!🎉❤😊
Jonah, you constantly impress me for your love for homesteading and evolution!
I love how Justin talks to his children like they are equals when in the field or pasture or on the mountain talking about water lines etc…. He talks openly and allows them to tell him things they notice on the funtion of anything on their land….. the kids know certain routines of certain animals and Justin listens…. Love it!!!
🎉Josiah is phenomenal with all the power tools, torches, and driving the heavy equipment!🎉😮😊❤ He is definitely gifted in all aspects of building and farming, he's a natural! 🎉❤😊
I love Justin's attitude about giving attention to his children. His patience with Henry is so incredible. I didn't have that kind of father and I believe I suffered for it. It wasn't all his fault because his dad didn't set the example for him. These children will not forget the example both parents set for them and will be there for them as they get older as well as doing the same for their own children.
Thank you for the extended edition of the Justin Rhodes family homestead show. I was so surprised that you showed the whole process of the gravity feed water system. I loved how each one of the children had an integral part of the process. Even Henery said oh oh, as he watched the water line leak. ❤
It was lovely to see Jonah laughing and having fun.
I noticed how much Lilly looks like her momma. She had combed her hair and pulled it back, this was when y’all were at the turkey brooder.
The water trench looks great! I like that you brainstorm with the kids and even take their advice. Best education around…. Blessings
It's an excellent way for them to feel personally invested in their homestead ❤🎉😊
Gideon, over these last months I've seen you step up and contribute sooo much, helping the family, thinking ahead on how you can fix problems, taking initiative and doing things before being asked, and of course, being an amazing big brother to Henry! You help him, teach him, and keep him safe. I just wanted to let you know how awesome I think you are.
He's following in his big brothers footsteps! They are all excellent role models🎉❤😊
@@carynmartin6053 They truly are! I just thought I'd give Gideon praise, he has been doing great, but has also been slipping a bit, so I thought if Beth passed on the comment it may help him redirect. ❤
No thanks required, you can't imagine how soothing it is after an hard day of work watching one of these videos. And since i do live in an homestead, some of the information and experiences you guys do actually apply everywhere and to every budget. Keep it up for as long as you love to do it.
I just wanted to say your whole family is amazing. The way the kids help out with the chores and take care of some of the projects. Such an inspiration. Keep up the awesome work you do. Thanks for not only being entertaining but also helping to teach others useful skills. ❤❤❤❤
The children are paid for helping with the farm and house. Not sure how much.
Gideon riding down the hill!!!! 😂 My favorite scene! He’s so carefree and silly 🙃 gotta love it!!!
If you hold the chickens by the feet upside down, they will calm down. And it doesnt hurt them. Its amazing how everything is so green all of a sudden. Jonah loves those big machines, lol. Henry is getting so big.
They already know all about chickens!
You can insulate the pipes before you lay them down. That way you won’t have to worry about frozen lines! It’s best to follow Salatin’s layout in the long run. I really admire y’all! You’re hard working good people. What a beautiful family! God bless y’all ❤️🙏🏼
Homesteading is all about self sufficiency & you are crushing it! Jonah is a doer not a talker. And Gideon is a true team player. Hope Lily feels better! My pardnts had 4 kids & only 1 (me) would gelp them out in old age.
If you're worried about the water lines freezing use compressed air to blown them out for winter. Many sprinkler systems are designed to be winterized this way.
I love how you let your children tell you what should be done. This is truly a fantastic parent. I love all your children like they were my grandbabies. A suggestion, plz look into bringing Jonah to U OF M for his hip. I bet they could help. God bless you all.
I would LOVE to see Rebecca's day at a glance. I know she is one busy momma! Especially with the remodel!
18:49 gotta respect a man who appreciates brevity
When I saw Lily was tired and shivering like crazy I figured the poor thing was sick. I hope she's well now.
Sacred WATER! Your epic water story has delighted me, watching you source top of the mountain, all through linking lines, to water your pastures and animals ! Happy for you!
Your sons are close to being able to being able run that farm. Its amazing… with influences like uncle Joe Saladin and obviously good old dad I really think these kids are going to be stars in the regenrative movement. Whatevr they choose to do, up to them… but really awesome examples of young men. Total Permaculture rock stars imo!!
We don’t always need a happy ending. The kids and life are the happy part. love Jonah and Josiah. Get well Lily
You are a very smart man.happy mother's day Rebecca
You have very respectful kids.
Happy Mother's Day Rebekha! You are a great mom! Nice water distribution for your pigs, trees, and future pastures. Nice "Ditch Witch" implement! That's great that you can put your water lines in the ground to protect them. That was so cute when Gideon was riding the bike next to Sally and you asked him if he wanted a ride! Wow frost! I'm glad you re-did the layer chick situation. The piglets are sure getting big! Too bad Lily is sick. I hope she feels better soon! They are going to kiln dry those boards from your trees to build your cabinetry for your remodel? Wow, that fully loaded trailer of logs got across the bridge! Wow, water! Royal snuck in! Nice, you are doing some videos on goat care! I like goats for weed control on our property. Thank you Rhodes family for doing these videos! Yay, you got the water going again!
I am amazed on how much your boys discuss options with you, they are very talented! I hope they appreciate how much your teaching them for life! Wtg boys! Rebecca Happy Mothers Day! ❤
Justin your excitement is contagious!

Happy Mother's Day Rebekah. Speedy recovery. Lily. Good progress guys.
Good for you Mr Brown. You’ve grown into such a great worker!
thank you Justin for this long video. i enjoyed it very much 😊.
Lucky Edmonds from Candler NC , like all show thank you all
YAY Lombardi. You showed us Green Bay Wisconsin. My home town.
❄️❄️❄️❄️For winter drainage water pipes. You used an air compressor. Make the right fitting plug and purged everything❄️❄️❄️❄️. From Quebec Canada 🇨🇦. Be blessed. ✋🏼🌼🌼🌼
Re: Your water piping issues. Put them at least 4 inches below frost line. Regarding valves and T Points Think about just getting some 12" plastic culvert pipe and cut them into bits that will reach down from ground level to your T points and valves. Cap them with a overlapping wooden lid. Use a square form with arms extending outward from the center but cutoff before they would exceed your 12" circumference of the culvert pipe.Flip this over and those arms would help keep it in place over the culvert pipe. Paint them a bright color for easy visibility. This gives you access and yet will help keep the joints and valves safe from damage. Oh You will need to fill the pipe with either actual insulation or hay filling it up to keep them from from freezing during winter weather.
It's so refreshing to see how ppl who are complete strangers offer advice to help make the dream work!🎉❤
I love y'all and wish more kids would do stuff like Rhodes kids!
I love your videos. Your editting is sublime. You pack more in an hour than most. Your family is amazing. Smart, practical and inventive kiddos like their parents. I do tip my hat to the CEO ...Henry. Always present and choses wisely hands on or off as required. Love yall...keeping it real.
It's not to late for Jonah to get further help for his leg injury.
When our home was built the electrical lines after laid were filled about 6” the whole length then a layer of crushed rocks were laid the entire line length. After that the trench was filled. This gives future dig an indication to stop and dig by hand from there. It prevents future line damages. Has worked well for when the lines need to be exposed. The same method was used for water.
Can Jonah use a hiking pole or cane? Man that crutch must chafe after awhile. Bless him.
Thanks for the video, Justin!
‘Hard days labor in the noonday sun?’ Yeah!
Greetings from the Minneapolis Urban Gardener restoring Wetlands and Native Meadow habitats. Rock on! Hard day labor in the noonday sun!
Justin your family is amazing. ❤
Thanks, Gideon! “I need to digest” is my new favorite excuse! 😂
Wow! That’s a lot😢 15 is hard enough 🙏🏻’s for Jonah❤ and Momma/dad too😊 Keep us posted! It’s wonderful when God puts people like the friend that was capable willing & able to go over the X-ray’s with the family! So helpful having a professional medical informative friend able to give a sense of clarity on Jonah’s unique circumstance. Best of luck 🩵Jonah…
Always entertaining and educational
Is Jonah's hip getting any better? noticed he was still limping a bit,,,, but he does not complain which shows his character and stamina,,,, way to go dude~ you sure have lots of know how on the watering going on,,,, I am in awe

in the fall you can blow out the line and then just leave valve open and you should not have a problem
❤️ Your children are wonderful 😀.

💚 Wow, so exciting to get that water from the top of the mountain to all the areas of the property 💚
Absolutely amazing family...you all work together and support each other through the good times and the tough times. Love and blessings to you all ❤❤❤ xjx
always good when a plan comes together
I love your guys videos, thank you so much!
The water system is superb. Enjoying following as a non-practical suburban UK viewer. Wishing Jonah well, sorry to see the ongoing problems.
Glad your watercis working. Love how you raise your kids. When Henry pointed st the water leak, that was fantastic. He didn't know how to say it but he knew what it was
I always look forward to your videos. Sending warmest vibes for your continued success. 😊😊😊
You've been blessed to have a spring on your property. Saves a lot of $ for your animals and crops plus for your home.
Awesome kids.
thank you for sharing with us have a Blessed day.
I really love your family, wish you guys the best 😍
Happy Mother’s Day Rebecca!
Wonderful video! I don’t know how you do it, Justin. You are an amazing man and father. I love you!
Great Work. In the Midwest USA, North of Kentucky, the trench would have to be much deeper because of the frost line. Still taping into a spring and delivering water to a lower area is still possible if the source, piping, and destination are all protected from the weather.
Ya'll are such a beautiful family, we love you ALL so very much!! Happy Mothers Day Bec❤
Well done. Good job. Good idea for water. Very hard work for you guys. I like your Lili girl. Good man and your family. God bless you and your family and your animals. Very very very nice place
you gotta teach one of the kids to cut hair.. your boys hair grows soooo fast and that would be the ultimate money saver
Prayers for Jonah. May God protect him and heal his body in Jesus Christ's name. Have you tried putting any comfrey on his hip, comfrey is called knitbone (bone knit).
❤YAY!🎉🎉 GREAT JOB YOU GUYS!
Happy Mother's Day!👋👋👀👀🙏🙏❤❤
Try using electrc hedge clippers. More controlled easily fitting under fence. Get the battery operated version obviously for use on your tree/fence areas.
Rebecca did you look into equine therapy for Jonas hip that strengthens your core, posture and flexibility and can take some pressure off his hip? Just an idea
Happy Mother’s Day Rebecca
I love your videos.... 👍
Great farmers cap. Great 👍job!!!!
I just want to remind everyone that words and even thoughts have power. It's the power of the universe called frequency. Everything EVERYWHERE so keep guiding your present moment awareness, energetic intentions every minute of every day.Go Beauty!

Happy Happy Mother's Day Hopping You Have A Wonderful Day With Family and Friends 🙏🕊️💙💜❤️🌻🌼🌹🤣
That dream bubble was classic!
Glad to see Jonah gettin back in the groove. Pray that Jesus comes through for him with his leg.
Those boys are going to be expert equipment operators which is a marketable skill as a fail safe option.
