note on infiltration, don't sit too close to strategic points as they have a small detection radius. Dark eldar and Tau have no turrets, for anyone else don't let Devilfish go near them as they have a detection radius bigger than Devilfish can shoot.
For the Vespid rush - if you build Stealthsuits before your builder, leave jetpacks for after you build Vespids, and build a Fire Warrior squad instead of a Tau Commander you can reinforce all of your strategic locations with Listening Posts and not hamstring your early economy. It will even have your Vespids and Fire Warriors come out at almost the exact same time. You can also start reinforcing the Fire Warriors a little after they come out or after you have scouted the enemy and it makes for a much more effective rush strategy. You will body every race other than Orks and Marines in the early game.
@@Michau940 Yeah but unfortunately Vespids get annihilated by the Big Mek (he kills each Vespid in a single melee attack) and he is very mobile. It isn't until you get an additional Kroot Carnivore squad that you can stand against him.
The bottle neck for the Harbinger is the power so there is no reason to get 2. Also, if you have +350 power and have 2 going at a time, you can spawn so many drones you hit the unit spawn limit and both Harbingers will turn off their overwatch and you'll need to spend APM to turn it back on again.
Perhaps as a followup you could demonstrate some of the openings in an actual pvp game. Also you could mention what matchup each build is good/bad against 😉
In the standard build section, you mentioned that sometimes you may want to make the firewarriors first (before the tau commander) - you do this if you are expecting your opponent to go for a fast decap and you want to cancel it, for example it’s quite common for necrons or space marines to do this vs tau
If you’re confident in your micro and being able to split your attention across the map, you can also try opening with 3 stealth suits. This allows you to quickly control the map and decap many of your opponents points
Back in the Dark Crusade campaign during the Necron home territory mission, the Necron Lord runs his mouth during the intro sequence about how he'll claim my mens souls/send them to their graves, or whatever it was. So purely just to spite him I decided to complete that mission using ONLY drones. No infantry, and not even any piloted vehicles spare the drone carriers. I put special care into ensuring I didn't lose a single man and just flooded the Necrons with "soulless robots", which I felt was quite an enjoyably insulting irony for them.
In the Vespid + Tau rush against Necron (yeah, I have a pesky teching Necron friend to punish >D) how do you deal with the Necron Lord, which I assume will be there by the time our units reach the enemy base?
After you finish all the races maybe you could get some of your replays or one of the public ones and focus on a player and explain their decisions throughout the battle or just the beggining :0 That would be helpful for me atleast!
The best counter to Defilers is 100% Barracudas. Fast and can take down Defilers from a good range. Stealthsuits are also a very good option provided they can attack undetected but they work best with leader and fusion guns attached (3 or 4 squads for better damage). The only other option I can think of that requires a little more skill is the XV88 Broadside Battlesuit; this unit has to be stationary at full effectiveness and you need to get used to its range, but boy oh boy he has great anti-vehicle damage as well as one-shotting most units.
On such maps it's better to go for Kroot first as they are better equipped at dealing with early harasses until the Fire Warriors can get out safely. It's also important to upgrade at least one of your LP's for extra defense to retreat to since Tau can't build any turrets. Vespids are always a great option for giving your opponent something to deal with as well since any rush by them will mean they won't have an army defending their base. And finally, use Snare Traps!!
Man your are so good at this game, can u teach me some advices? I have uploaded some vids to my channel of my "progress" playing dark crusade hard campaign and I already got beaten up once. Would be nice if u went into my channel and make a review with tips and hints of what should I do to improve in the game. :D Love your content

Even against orks this is good as vespids can focus on destroying outer lps and kiillling gretchins.

Thank you for the awesome content dude, love soulstorm. Keep it up
Cheers! Plenty of content to come :)

Good idea! I'll try to do that for the next guide!

Thanks for clearing that up @@alixuk2567!
Making me better! What a fantastic game and your videos are awesome
i won so many games with the drone harbinger, its not a fair unit haha. Even necrons cannot send that many scarabs, and that would fit better in lore.

I like that idea!
Might be bit late to the party 😅 but thanks bro making my game so much easier now
You can put 3 squads of stealth suits in a Devilfish. Equip them with Fusion Blasters and you can cause carnage to your opponents generators.
Overwhelming damage😎😎😎😎😎
Actually it's 2 squads in Soulstorm. I was thinking of Dark Crusade. But it's still powerful
I have been having some problems dealing with vehicles as tau, specifically early defilers. any advice to deal with them?

Awesome video, ever thought about making similar ones but with the ua mod?
With little hope of an answer I guess.......what's the best approach on maps where you get instantly attacked from the get go?

Is this guide relevant using the ultimate apocalypse and unification mods?
For Unification maybe, but UA has a lot of new features that wouldn't really make this applicable to that mod.
hey, when you will make eldar build order 😭😭
Check my page! There's a poll for which races I will be doing next in order of popularity :)
no krootrush? disappointed
