Katmer - The art and recipe

  • Watch Memik, the world’s number 1 katmer artist makes one of the best deserts known to mankind at Aksam Simit bakery and coffee shop in Gaziantep.
    To try at home you need:
    Yupka dough
    Honey
    Kaimak (clotted cream)
    Ground pistachio nuts
    Sugar
    To prepare:
    1. Open the dough to as thin as you can.
    2. Tear off the thick ends of the dough, sprinkle a little honey and fold to an envelope while getting rid of thick ends.
    3. Sprinkle pistachio generously.
    4. And some sugar.
    5. And a bit more honey.
    6. Spread bits of Kaimak evenly.
    7. And a bit more honey.
    8. Bring each corner of the envelope to the center to create a perfect rectangle.
    9. Place gently on a greased oven pan.
    10. Bake in a pre heated oven till golden.
    To eat:
    Best eaten straight from the oven mixed with vanilla ice cream.
    Recommended drink:
    A glass of milk

    I had this dessert recently on a visit to Turkey. Honestly this is the best dessert I have ever tasted. It is AMAZING served warm with traditional Turkish Ice cream. Heaven 🇹🇷🇹🇷❤️❤️

      Same, same. It was the best dessert I have ever eaten in my life. I had it in Memed Ocabski in Mugla, Marmaris. 👌🏽👌🏽

    This is not a ****** recipe. The only actually important part you left out completely. WHAT is yupka dough? What flour do you use? What hydration percentage is the dough? Please answer these questions in an updated description or change your video tittle. I understand click bait, but it is not OK to lie to people searching for actual information.
    The art I completely agree with! I can tell that what is shown takes incredible skill to preform. Just don't say there is a recipe when you don't have an intention of giving one.

      İts just flour and water but you should rest it over a 1 day for shaping it
