You can tell all these ppl complaining about the LEDs haven’t actually experienced it in person lol
That's cool, looks really amazing and enhances the gameplay.
Nice! I just got my G3 77" 3 days ago and my FancyLEDs Sync box just came in the mail this morning! Can't wait to install it tonight 😁
Pretty awesome combo !!
@@BTheInstaller I have to agree the combo is killer! How far is your TV from the wall to get that glow?
Take it you'll have to have the TV further from the wall then the wall mount allows? I am this as I got mine yesterday and want to get some LEDs for it.
my 2.1 set arrives in 2 days and i am super stoked to add to my 75" samsung TV in my living room! I have been looking for a GOOD review of this product and you freakin NALIED IT. thanks you!!!
Did game mode work and hdr or not?
Limitless joy !
Thanks
I wish they had a version with 1 2.1 port and 1 standard 2.0 port to connect both gaming console and Apple TV
I've had one of these installed for about three months now on my Samsung 85" Q95T, with all my devices plugged into my AVR, the AVR plugged into the led box, and the box into the TV.
It's been pretty awesome so far. Looking forward to the next iteration, with maybe more LED density, and possibly RGBW lights. But it's definitely been better than my Govee T2 was.
Did game mode and hdr work ?
@@mikeygriffiths2868 yes, am playing MW3 on Series X with game mode enabled on the TV, and TV is reporting 3840 x 2160, FreeSync VRR with Input Signal Plus, HDR UHD
I will note that now and then the FancyLed box lights don't stay on when switching between Xbox main menu and actual game, haven't figured out exactly why, but if you switch back and forward it does work. Only revert happens with the Xbox, so I'm assuming that's where the issue is.
@CodCodliness do they come back on when after loading the game also you have game mode on?
@@mikeygriffiths2868 most of the time they work perfectly well first time with Xbox games whether game mode is on or off, just a little iffy now and then, where you have to switch back and forward once or twice, and I'm fairly certain the issue is not actually the FancyLed box
Great review. How does it know where the corners of the TV are so that it matches what's on the screen? Like a 60 inch tv would have different length to a corner than a 80 inch tv.
Hi and thanks for that great review!
I've got a question: I watch lots of contents with subtitles, and I wonder how it behaves in those conditions, particularly in widescreen/letterbox with subtitles in the black bar below... Does it flash white light underneath the TV when the subtitles pop?
Thanks in advance!
I still have the dreamscreen 4k which does the same thing just not 120 hdmi 2.1 but watching movies and listening to music with systems like this are cool. I just hope the apps never disappear from the app stores
Just bought the Samsung S89c & Iwas just looking at this set yesterday. I was searching for an HDMI 2.1 box but this one doesn't have any reviews on Amazon yet. Thanks for this, I think I'm going too try this sync box over the others.
Did you end up getting the fancy led syncbox after all? I have the same tv as you and I’m on the fence about getting these.
@cm2687 I did not get it, well not yet & also on the fence especially after seeing this one only has 1 hdmi input, I think I'm going to wait for an HDMI 2.1 box that has more ports. For now I've been enjoying the S89c as is & hope you are too.
@@Man_eee that’s exactly what I’m waiting on. I need to be able to sync my ps5 and Apple TV. And for sure! I got it during the Best Buy Super Bowl sale and it’s the best $1799 I’ve ever spent haha
Are you using the super slim bracket supplies with the tv? If so, would it be slightly off the wall to allow for space to Velcro mount the sync box?
I have had the Dreamscreen one since 2017. Great effect. I wonder how Fancy got around Philip's stupid patent that killed off the Dreamscreen.
How much did it force you to protrude the tv with the box on the back? Assuming the tv couldn’t go flush on wall the way it was installed?
does this also work on tv apps only? or you need ps and xbox to work? i dont do gamings i just watch movies
Can you plug in a soundbar that has consoles and firestick plugged into it through the sync box?
So can it go: console > soundbar > sync box > TV?
i take it that these lights wont work when watching content natively on the TV. Is there a workaround for this?
Tried a similar system with govee. Could not get it to stick with a 83 inch Sony A90J because of the bottom backside. It's all grills and won't stick. Any tips?
I’ve had these lights for about 2 weeks now. Works great for gaming but for whatever reason when i watch movies on streaming apps the screen will just cut out randomly . I have it running through my xbox series x. It only does it when i have the lights on. Any fix for it?
Wish the 120htz box had three hdmi inputs that way you could connect a 4k bluray player and media streaming box or 2nd console.
Hey I’m thinking about getting this. But I’m running everything through my Onkyo RZ50 how would this do with sound pass through? Do you think I’ll have lag or have sync issues since it’s only Arc and not eArc ?
Does it work on PC devices
I want to use it for a 24-inch screen
I'm hoping to get the 2.0 version
Don't have 4K or a 120hz TV, and my only console is the Switch so I should be fine
I finally got one of these in a week ago. Boy was this thing a pain in the ASS to get working on a PC with an AV Receiver. I literally was giving up last night, and it finally just decided to start working. Albiet it's still finicky, but I think I've got it to where I can stand it. I bought a new Active HDMI cable thinking that was a problem with my 30ft HDMI 8k cable. Nope, ended up reverting back to my original setup before adding the Sync Box and everything just decided to work together all of a sudden...even though that was EXACTLY how I had everything plugged up in the first place! Ughhhh...what a nightmare, but at least it works well enough (I think) where I can deal with the finnickiness of it.
Nice video !! Does it sync with Netflix & Hotstar ??
Is it possible to connect them to a PC?
Just 2.1 hdmi version has 1 port so you can connect just 1 device overall. There is 3 port version but just 2.0 it is great device but govee is hdmi independent and depends what you need .
Any chance you tried using a HDMI splitter to see if you can get this to work on both an AppleTV and a video game console since it only has one HDMI port?
Update: I tried it and it works fine. Only thing is whenever I turn on my TV, it turns on my Ps5 and I have to turn it off, use the hdmi splitter remote to change to my Apple TV input and press the Apple TV to trigger it
@@bowlman2345 Thanks mate. Was hoping some tried the splitter. Can you please share which splitter are you using? I need to run my xbox series X and the TV on the lights.
this looks badass! how much was it?
Why didn’t you put the lights on the back silver bezel instead of on the black plastic? I would think the lights would be better there but since you’re the expert I figured I would ask.
No wrong answer. I didn't want them super close to the edge and the general glow will be similar. I knew the tv wouldn't be pushed as flat but either will work
I used to think this was a cool idea, but then I experienced HDR, and it completely changed my mind about it. I prefer just using an HDR screen in a dark room without extra LEDs.
I need help. I install it on my TV but my corner left side of my LEDs are flickering where everything else is smooth. Should I return it or is this something I can fix? I did find 1 area where you cut wirh a sissor thar when I put my finger on it, it's shuts off the area where it's flickering
Did you cut it in correct spot? I would reach out to customer service. I'm sure they'll help out.
@BTheInstaller Hi brother, yes I did cut it in the correct area. I reached out to customer service and they said it was a defective unit with the video i sent. Fancy LED has great customer service btw. They are sending me a replacement.
Is the TCL 98" S5 to large for these LED strips?
The largest kit they sell is 70-90". It could still work, but depending on how you place it, you may have gaps. Like you would literally need to map it out before you placed it.
Would this fit behind a Samsung Frame TV when wall mounted?
Not really. You would have to have the box inside a recessed box like in my other video and the lights around the edge. Probably not worth it for a frame tv. Better if there is some gap for the glow it creates
Pretty cool, discount code would be nice ;)
I know the lytmi led lights are effected when the ps5 hdr is on, what about these?
HDR is supported on the PS5
The thing about these lights is that they may be preferable to a larger tv because you still maintain maximum focal area but extend the experience outwards into your peripheral vision and get some form of bias lighting. And you can always turn it off and focus on the screen if you want to.
I have an 85”. X95L. Do they make one for that size?
Yeah that length I had would fit. I cut off a foot +
How do you like the LED for gaming @FPSWizard ?
Govee does it for that size as well.
Oh well Phillips, they’re here😂 finally
Will this work with an Apple TV as well?
Works with any HDMI input
Yes it does I have it with my Apple TV
B u should use OLED light strip on that OLED TV. Lol
Does this work with a TV that has no possible Wifi Connection?
Yeah it should it uses HDMI
The problem with this is that only work with the HDMI if u run UA-cam or Netflix on the tv is not going to work
I use govee lights. They're pretty great
Hey Brandon I’m having a tough time getting the brackets to stick long term. They start sagging and falling after a few weeks and I’ve tried the hardest sticking tapes by 3m to no avail. My tv has a plastic back unlike the g3 aluminum finish which probably makes it stick a lot better. Any suggestions?
Problem I have with these is that they can only be used for one gaming system. Am I wrong?
They can be used for more, just need to add a HDMI switch or splitter, then run earc straight to the AVR or sound bar from the TV.
@@madtown281would that degrade the picture quality?
Looks like a roll of film
Yo B and Jenn😊😊
Looks nice but I would pay $50 tops!
No good on g3 if you can t use the lg bracket properly
You can. Not sure what you mean.. I choose to have it out a bit as it's end of our room. Makes no difference.
That's ok for gamers, but for watching movies I don't think so. Mi movie theater doesn't have LEDs around the screen. Nor does any movie house I have been to!
I use it for movies and it’s honestly not as distracting as you think, I enjoy them
@@Mori8636 Well , I enjoy them as much as I enjoy people answering their phones in the movie house. Their screen is brighter than the movie screen is and everyone starts yelling at them!!
I have, and i prefer the leds not be their, it distracts from the actual tv screen
The only problem I've seen people can't use hdr and game mode
Both are supported!
I like it on Philips ambilight tv, but this is too flickery
$200 😂😂😂
Maybe too much lighting..
I think it’s just the camera, the brightness , a recording problem , not a real life problem
You can adjust the brightness on it to your preference, I love mine, definitely an upgrade
To be honest the colours look so weird and all over the place, its not accurate at all i think. I have the Hue sync box which by the way works with 2.1 hdmi via software update, and it can do 120fps, vrr, 4k and all of that, you only have to turn off allm, but leave vrr on, but it doesn't matter because the vrr when active gives you some allm support as it says in in it's ps5 settings. So it's much better than anything else, still if you want a cheaper rgb thats not near 100% accurate its probably a good option, hue is really expensive, I'll admit. But for me it's worth it.
So another Phillips hue sync knock off 😂 nothings comes close.
I thought the same until I bought both and honestly I think its probably better than the Philips hue tbh
Considering Philips hue doesn’t support hdmi 2.1 then yeah, this is better.
You're making it worse. The irony.
Actually you're not making it worse, by placing a light behind the television, you are raising the average ambient light in the room and reducing the strain on your eyes, meaning you can watch television or work for longer without all the negative side effects. My fancy led sync box should be here next week, can't wait!
Yea, absolutely hate the LED distraction.
Thank you!!!!! I was starting to think I was the only person that thinks LED lighting like this on the back of tvs is stupid.
@@markyh73 it's fine when its set to a 6500k solid white to enhance perceived contrast and help avoid eye fatigue in a dark room, but when its set to change with what's being shown on the screen its definitely distracting.
The S90C is a better gaming TV
Sounds like a teen trying to customize their rig with lights....
In this case its a midlife crisis trying to be young again....
GROSS! I'll tell you what looks better, THE TV, not all the distracting, ambient BLOOMING behind it. Why do people think it's so cool to have all the led light behind their tv? It's just another form of blooming and stupid. I want to watch my tv, not the wall around it!
