When you write your outline for the essay, the first paragraph (the introduction paragraph) will include a thesis statement. This is your main point of the essay. That is actually a good question. Often, when you are writing an essay, you already know what your opinion is, so you know what conclusion you want to write. However, if you are still in the research stage, you can leave the conclusion section of the outline until you are more clear about what your conclusion could be. I hope this helps.
