J. Capriati was a force for the William sisters. She gave a good game. There was something about her unsettling though. She was definitely talented. However, listen to the announcers. Listen to how they fight back excitement for Capriati. They wanted a win for Capriati. I don't think announcers for the most part ever truly favored a Williams sister as a whole. They (sisters) were tolerated and eventually undeniable champions. And with that, compliance came in the face of tennis supposed civility. The usual American BS.

this match is proof that if Jennifer had had the perseverance to stay focused on physical and mental preparation, she would have won many more matches against Serena Williams. Serena in an interview spoke of Jennifer simply as one of her who "also won a couple of slams"... but instead she was the only one of all those from 2000 to 2004, who managed to beat her 7 times. none like her and in such a short time. In terms of talent, Jennifer was much more gifted than Serena. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't understand anything about tennis and Serena remains a braggart. jennifer was a legend... she beat at least once all the world number 1s she met during her entire career, even at the age of 14.❤
Jennifer was so out of shape here... that's why she faded against Testud in the next round. 2000 started great for her (semifinalist at OZ) but then it went downhill quickly (injuries and she started dating Xavier Malisse). Still, this rivalry was always a treat to watch! Thanks for the upload!
