After playing diff10 bots I thought it couldn't get harder. Illuminate came. Diff 5 and I had myself killed overwhelmed by flying dudes and killed in seconds. Then Sarge comes and does the mission solo with no hesitation. I don't know whether I should be pissed or inspired lol

You know, now I can't stop imagining peeves storming through hogwarts with an energy gun, shooting at the students just for fun and the teachers excusing him because "he's a poltergeist" 😂
Not all units are in the field yet so not too intimidating - What I can see being the main sticking point here is that this faction seems to respond well to a mix of Bot and Bug loadouts (2 armour penetrating Helldivers, 2 on crowd control) and we just have to see how many Divers pick up on this synergy, or if a lot of players will find it hard to adjust, like when we have Bug mains because trying the Automatons for the first time maybe didn't go as they planned
The hope is there will at least be enough Bug mains sticking around that the Voteless/Overseers aren't much of an issue because they're having so much fun on crowd control, and the folx who focus on armour piercing can do Tripods/objectives
I played on challenging and had 10 times the amount of overseers and overall the game just felt way harder than this gameplay which is on super helldive. I was also relentlessly bombarded with waves of enemies wayyyyy more than are shown in this gameplay which again is on super helldive. Anyone care to explain?
If you're playing with 4 people you're facing 4x enemies. Solo = less enemies posted at PoI and mission points, less patrols, and less # of reinforcements.
hes also moving super quick with that jet pack and not getting bogged down in pointless fights. thats what tends to happen. you try to kill everything and thats when the computer just keeps spawning more and more until you're overwhelmed
Same thing happened to me, never ending spawns, been playing this game since launch so I know to do all the things these guys are saying to avoid it. as soon as any start chasing you it never ends, there's no way to avoid enemies entirely especially considering most objectives activate encounters. There's definitely something broken just like the spawn rates of chargers that one time and all the other mishaps.
damn, i am impressed, i have been struggling with my runs even as low as diff 4. i see that the scout armor is a good thing, and a jetpack. And a bit lucky with a free MG and Expandable rocket :)
You can, only your muscle memory won’t help you. Gotta be fast enough to get the scrambled codes in. Sometimes you’ll get lucky and they’re all the same key to call in
Many of the objectives have a limited number of very distinct layouts and as long as you don´t have a mission modifier that covers your map, you can make those objectives out quite easily. It does take quite a bit of practise but if you play a lot, you´ll get the hang of it. Some of the easiest are the SEAF sites and Bunkers.
Honest question: When I’m running and don’t need to stay in the area for long I’ve been shooting out the voteless’ legs to save ammo /manage hordes since they’re like 3 times more vulnerable and become easily incapacitated. Do you reckon this is worth doing or it doesn’t matter?
some tips for the illuminate: the tripods (harvesters) weak spot is inbetween the head and legs, right on the joint. it looks like you tried to go for that, which is good! the 500 kilo is useless 90% if you hit it from the front or sides. if you can get the bomb BEHIND or with luck, on top of it like you did, you'll kill it with one bomb.
