For as old as that little dozer is someone really took care of the machine. You will probably never see another one in this kind of shape. I'm so envious I could cry.
This little dozer is wicked cool. As much fun as it is to see you fix up machines that you find that are not in working order, I am glad to see that you purchased something and start using it right off the bat. Also, it was cool to see the previous owner show you how it worked. It was obvious he liked the machine and took good care of it, as the owner before him seemed to have done as well.
Nice, I drug a busted up mini crawler out of an old Nursery and got it going... It was a Mead Speedcat , just a bit smaller than that one. It was cool , but not so much fun trying to move them without power ,lol.
In WWII they use to fly those mini-dozers in on transport planes to remote locations and build runways in the south pacfic. Look around youtube, I am sure there is some footage of them being used.
This is why I love your channel! The really off the radar stuff you find and play with! Every dude wants a toy with tracks to play on. Now start crushing some cans and stuff!!!
It's not every day you get one running and driving off the trailer Joe.. That looks like a great machine to have around the land. Great video. let's get Joe to 500k..
I thought the same thing as well. I actually thought that's what he intended to do when he first bought the property. Maybe, with enough comments, we can get him to consider it before he places his pole barn in the wrong place. 😂😊
Erik Fromme, a brilliant psychologist, described man’s innate need to affect his environment. “Creativeness V Destructiveness” You got the best of both worlds, right there!
That is some rich soil you have up there. My maternal grandfather was a farmer in the Wausau area back in the day. Good soil there too. Nice little dozer, looking forward to you working on that little Honda.
Good Trade! Sorry you lost on the hovercraft but at least its not sitting on the land anymore and you got a very useful piece of equipment! And A classic Honda Motoorcycle! Youll use that dozer a lot more Im betting! Keep up with the great videos!
Thank you for the content, and congratulations on the new purchase, I am looking forward to seeing how you carry out the maintenance on the small tank, greetings from Spain.
My grandfather had a 1918 Catapillar bulldozer, we used to grade the orchard and by the time I was a teenager, cutting dirt bike trails on the property. Youll have loads of fun.
I had a buddy make one that was very similar to that one from scrap parts off abandoned forestry equipment, all hydraulic driven and powered by a Briggs and Scrapum 13 hp it was a beast
So 45 minutes of a guy playing on a mini dozer? This might be the coolest video I've ever seen! I probably would have sat and watched another 45 minutes or more.
Cool dozer! I miss all the crazy stuff I’d find growing up in Wisconsin . In fact I really miss Wisconsin just not that long winter…. It’s time tor you to build a BIG shop! Love all your videos and a little jealous.
Nice score! Now time to delve into the world of air cooled industrial engines...sounds like the governor is "laggy"....late to engage, and then over-shoots. You can hear it surge while pulling the boat, or when the engine gets bogged down while blading. A little fine tuning and I think you will get even better performance/results (which is already impressive).
There are a lot of small job contractors even now who would love to have a machine that mobile. Say, for cutting a base pad for a pole barn floor pour, or landscaping in tight areas. Cheers...
Great video how neat neever see. A mini dozer like that. Must a be a true tonka thanks for the post love your channel. This almost looks like the 1970 model you had in previous video
Nice find! Love the vids! Can you do more Honda 400ex content? Like a rebuild? Just bought one and am wondering how to work on it good. I know the basics but I need to learn how to rebuild it. Thanks and good morning!
Someone definitely put a lot of time in that little dozer they were made primarily up and down. This one has all kinds of tilts on. It. Did a nice job putting that in there that’s for sure clean unit.
That is a pretty sweet machine you got there, can build yourselfa sick little jump for bikes. If you wanna have better control of getting level ground from pushing dirt, adjust your idle accordingly and not such a deep bite of earth😊 Love the videos🤜🤛
I had one of those engines it needs a tune up it should never lose rpm and act like it's going to die. They run real good, Great vids keep up the good work.
Dude!! Gonna use that to make some jumps on the property? She won't be the quickest rig out there but it's unique ASF and could be towed with a half ton truck. P.s I won't be upset if you find a 00's Kawasaki Lakota to refresh and flip. I need to go through mine and get it ready to run on my property.
Really cool toy you got there looks like a lot of fun. Maybe after you get it running right it will push better. Thanks for the entertainment. God bless you and your family.
That dozer is an absolute keeper! Don't ever get rid of that, you'll regret it. My father sold my grandfather's years ago and was one of the biggest mistakes he ever made, besides having me..🤷😂
I fixed one of these up when I was a teenager 20 years ago. It was the non hydraulic version with rippers. It also had rubber tracks. I built lots of motorcycle trails/jumps with it and built a small pond. I put at least 1000 hours on it. The weak spot of these things is the small gear on the final. The keyway is too small. Be careful popping that clutch hard pushing heavy. It's a pain to fix. My uncle had a machine shop so we were able to redo the key ways. Anyways it broke way up a steep hill I built a motorcycle trial on and had no way to get it off the mountain it's probably still on my dad's old ranch lol. Need a diesel quad to drag it off the mountain.
That is wicked cool. I would love to have that on my property making a small motocross track and do things around the house I don’t think you got hurt that bad except losing the fun factor of the having a cool hovercraft
It appears as if you might not know about the "float" function on the blade. On dozers and loaders, typically if you jam the hydraulic blade lever {that makes the blade go up and down} all the way forward, you will go past a detent - and then hold it in the forward position. When you do this, the blade will "float" and be released from the hydraulic system allowing it to float over the ground. This is especially useful for smoothing ground when you backdrag in reverse. This excellent little machine probably has the float feature, so give it a try. And if you already know about it, disregard. But I didn't see you using it and it would have helped a lot with smoothing out the tilled ground you were ploughing up in your testing.
Very impressive and useful piece of property maintenance equipment. Don't know what kind of loss you took on the hovercraft but that little dozer will pay for itself plus much more. Just the work you used it for in this video probably got your $500 back if you give yourself a bonus for deciding to trade for a machine that will save you time and money plus be fun to use. I'm thinking the hours are most likely accurate. It's not like the owners would use it for large projects. That type of machine is for small jobs and usually would break the ice and the owner would realize the value and invest in a bigger machine that is a bit more versatile and or works well together with the mini dozer. Thanks for sharing.
@2vintage could also be considered a recovery from the hovercraft. Maybe not a full recovery yet but a very wise start. Especially with the property. Possibilities for trails through the woods get pretty good with a small yet powerful machine like that. Pushing that downed shed to a different location was very impressive. Definitely looking forward to seeing that machine help you produce the next level of content.
You want to adjust that main jet on the carb so it runs good under load and leave it there. Don't close it when you shut the machine off. Turn the fuel off at the tank. The white spark plug indicates that the carb jet was not opened enough.
Great call on that trade. Hover craft was cool, but damn what a future pain in the ass with that hover craft. That bulldozer is sooooo cool. Great trade. Plus that 70s bike included? Yup you did okay.
That is an agricat model f made in Berkeley late 50's I'm restoring 1 that went through the paradise fire in2018 i also have a B model made in the late 40's
Nice video! Maybe you can tell me where you can get parts for an Agricat, especially like clutch’s and stuff. I have an older model that originally hand a handle control for the plow that was converted to hydraulic up and down mode only. Thanks in advance!
Hovercrafts are always a bad idea but unless you want to wait a long time for another sucker to get your money back you made the right decision! 😂 I really like the dozer! I would use that thing constantly on my land. ❤
It's helping you get work done at the house? Good thing going on if it does! You're who I'd want to be if I was growing up all over again and wrote about it in a composition for class in school!
Joe - please please keep that little dozer under cover. It's in absolutely fabulous condition and deserves to remain so. Such a rare special machine.
That mini dozer is absolutely fantastic and the fact it's all working will be a very useful piece of kit. They are also very collectable.
You were in the little machine out you're wearing out the clutch for that stupid rock idiot
For as old as that little dozer is someone really took care of the machine. You will probably never see another one in this kind of shape. I'm so envious I could cry.

Had one of these in our barn to push calf manure out the big doors in spring.
Don't leave the blade up when it's parked! Awesome little machine you got!
Cool trade!! You'll be able to do a lot more with the tractor than the hovercraft
That dozer is so cool you could make some sick dirtbike/pitbike tracks with that lil thing.
I was thinking the same thing. A cool short track would be a lot of fun.
I thought the same thing as well. I actually thought that's what he intended to do when he first bought the property. Maybe, with enough comments, we can get him to consider it before he places his pole barn in the wrong place. 😂😊
Hard to believe that's only 9 hp.
That's awesome. My dad had a min dozer but it had a loader bucket and was so much fun to ride around on.
What a awesome little machine moves a fair amount of dirt
Erik Fromme, a brilliant psychologist, described man’s innate need to affect his environment. “Creativeness V Destructiveness” You got the best of both worlds, right there!
Time to make your very own motocross track now. I could imagine how much fun that would be.
Perfect candidate for a full restoration! Shes beautiful
@12:20 . I'm picturing a sea of old broken marketplace toys littering that field haha.
That little Dozer works pretty good
That is some rich soil you have up there. My maternal grandfather was a farmer in the Wausau area back in the day. Good soil there too. Nice little dozer, looking forward to you working on that little Honda.
Wow, that was my first motorcycle in high school in 78-79, same color scheme. Remember driving to school in the snow!!!
My first was a Yamaha 100. YL-1 twin jet. 2 cyl 2 cycle with oil injector. Vintage 1967
That thing would be handy as hell, I have 30 acres of bush around my home and its a pain clearing trails!

Gear reduction is a wonderful thing. 👍
Great find, perfect size too!

Though she be but little she is fierce. Great find...
like a little kid playin with his tonka trucks in a sand pit, haha love it
My thought exactly. The dream hah.
Definitely seems fun, can’t wait to see, what’s in store for that mini bulldozer

Dig and build the frame foundation for your new pole barn.
Then have the pro concrete guys pour it. Much cheaper.
2:00 alot of old gauges just roll over when they hit either 4 or 5 number 9's in row they all flip back to 0
It never had an hour meter when it was new.

I really need one of these!!!! Would be the cats meow for cutting at trails and well.. a lot of things
I only watche'd the 1st 4 minutes so far, but Nice Vintage purchase there, Joe. Hope you're able to put to use on site.

Okay, that 'dozer is cool. I can see lots of uses for that one. Anything from snowplow to dirt pusher, to armored assault vehicle.
that dozer would come in handy for making your dirtbike track with jumps on da' land
More excellent work there, Chap !
Now you can build jumps on your test field :)

Ol' Joe is addicted to the Thrifties. Great job,now lets tear up some land for that pole barn
Talking with concrete companies this week.
Watch the RR Builders in Illinois to get ideas on the "pole" Building. Same idea, new designs.

I saw a smaller Dozer 25 feet in the air welded to a pole ( Yard Art) and have wanted it ever since.
For larger rocks, try using the edge of your blade, and turning to jar it loose.

That dozer is sick id hang onto it be nice to build tracks, dig a pond, if you ever build a house out there or whatever the use.
My neighbor had one of those in the 80s, he would plow sidewalks and driveways, so cool!
You should run hydraulics to the back so you can put a tiller on it or a plow. You can also run the disk for a garden.
That is so cool.... I found a new favorite CHANNEL!!!
Only if i could find one under $6,000 LOL!
They are always SO much Coin!!!
Very collectable right now.
I like the old dozer

Bravo to the variety of projects. You won't need a pole barn, when you reach 500k subs, send us each a project
