IMO, I wouldn't strictly have framed it as 'talking over girls', but 'talking over soft-spoken people' who are more timid when there's a lot of people talking.
And the reason why I view as this, TBF, is because I'm in that same sort. I'm rather... Timid/soft-spoken most of the time when playing something like Among Us. [Played a few dozen games in total among different groups of friends/friends of friends]
It just happens to be that the ones who are soft-spoken in this group are mostly comprised of girls. Sykkuno comes off as someone who's almost in this sort of category, but he always squeaks out a few words like a happy squirrel.

Yeah, it can be tough for soft spoken people to be heard. My group has designated one of our loud people to listen carefully and announce when a quiet person is trying to talk so we can give them the floor.

It's the deafen feature of discord.
If you deafen, you can't hear anything that is playing from Discord (voice calls, music bots, etc.).
So in Among Us, the alive have to deafen so the dead can talk to each other without the alive hearing them.

If you mute, you can still hear people.
If you deafen, it simultaneously mutes you, so ghosts can talk to each other instead of having to type.
I'm really glad that Hafu brought up that issue at the end- I'm sure they're doing it unintentionally, but the boys do tend to talk over a few of the girls quite often. I've noticed it on multiple occasions and I really hope the whole lobby takes what Hafu said into consideration.
But I also hope Janet can somehow increase her mic volume. It's easy to talk over her just by talking at normal noise level.

Cis females develop differently shaped vocal cords than men after puberty due to lower levels of testosterone, resulting in pitches which are harder to hear over males in their natural range (and leaving that natural range hurts if you do it too much) - it's simple acoustic science and sexual dimorphism at play, nothing more.

I love that in the final vote with everyone talking at once, even though what janet was saying was putting sus on 5up he was listening and answering even though no one could really hear her. i hope everyone heard what Hafu said at the end cause I’ve also noticed that a lot of the girls get talked over. I’m glad she addressed it cause I feel bad each time they have something to say/contribute but always get overpowered by the guys screaming, or flat out ignored.
