and motor, so there is some lies people spreading around saying I helped built a battery 10 months ago and now they using my video against me so I just want to say what's on my mind and clear some of the BS up... the top speed video will be coming soon.
To be honest bro, I build batteries and i look at your builds and cringe a little. Even still, if a customer wants to do something the wrong way, you still have the right to say no, YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND THAT! ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARENT PAYING. If you are a professional? You need to be a professional. Do it your way and your way only. If not they can take a long walk. Please for your success, please learn the best, safest way possible and only do it that way. There are plenty of jobs i turned down because the customer wants to cut corners. Let them burn their own house down. If they don't want to do it right, tell them no, because this is what they do. Blame you and only you. I wish you success brother. Please keep on getting better and please know your power brother.

I have proof that your battery is superior and built like a tank. I ride the Tommebike everyday. I traveled to my cousin's house which was 32 miles away from mine. This was on a full battery. My speed was an average of 60 mph continuously for 30 minutes straight! That is excellent! When I got there, a mile away my battery started to die. But I made it there. The battery was barely warm. And I charged it up with no problems. This bike is exactly what I needed for my everyday use and missions. 💪🏾💪🏾

Ebike guy, great content and channel my dude! You doing something right when you bring out the trash talkers. I also learned something from a bike that caught fire, the guy was riding in sub 35°f temps and hit Regen real hard coming to a stop and that's when it caught fire.( Bike was stored in a shed) Need to be cautious with Regen and cold batteries! Especially if the bike is stored in the ambient temperature (in a shed or outside) and also don't leave them plugged in all the time !!😮

Congratulations on the 9,000 subs. Im a scooter guy. I just bought the X14 electric scooter off of Amazon. 14inch tires, 13inch screen, 72v 40h battery, turning signals, seat, weight 130 pounds, and i haven't done a range test yet. Max speed is 65mph. I like this monster of a scooter.Get a new frame for the bike. U can get one of those gas bicycles frame for a good price.

I had a battery fire with the older lithium polymer batteries, a short circuit die to faulty MCB and controller.. I always add a fuse straight after the battery also you need whats called torque brackets to protect your rear dropouts... Ignore the haters dude this is genuinely good advice. Your bike is tbe fastest e-fat bike on the planet dude 😎

Bro first of all I want to say I thoroughly enjoy your content. I am a die hard motorcycle enthusiast I've been riding motorcycles since the early 80s I own a few motorcycles. I generally watch all motorcycle content. But a friend of mine's purchased the wired ebike and when he first told me about it, I really wasn't into it when I pulled up the wired content somehow someway. Your video came into my feed every since I watched your very first video I had fell in love with E bikes. Now I'm a motorcycle guy but I love ebikes as matter of fact. I love all your content bro. I can tell that you’re the kind of guy that would fix this problem If you felt that it was your doing. From what I have gathered from what you have said, I would say that it is most likely a short with the frame going through the heat shrink, and he should’ve used more layers of heat shrink and possibly more padding.

I saw the video with pictures of the battery after the fire. Cant say what caused it without some background story.
I do know that the owner was the one who asked Jehu Garcia by email if he needs a BMS, and Jehu allegedly said “no”.
I believe the owner was the one who glued the cells together, so if there was a group-to-group short because of lack of cell holders that his decision and fault.
When the battery left your house it definitely wasn’t safe from impact but thats up to how he installed it in his bike.
I think this specific battery fire cant be pinned on you, but the important lesson here is theres not really much difference between his battery and your batteries, and each battery that leaves your supervision and can be improperly charged, dropped without inspection afterwards, increases the odds of a problem.
If a battery you made and installed in a bike catches on fire, even if the buyer loaned it to an idiot who did something stupid, there is a certain liability you will face.
You subconsciously know whats going on in the ebike, and can prevent problems. Some people have zero clue. This is why desiccant bags say “do not eat”. These people will eat Tide Pods. These people need tire pressure monitoring systems.

Heck my e-build tops out at 38/39 mph but I usually just cruise around between 20-25mph so there's nothing wrong with 28mph top speed.

You knowingly and willingly bypassed all of the safety measures needed for a lithium battery. As long as the customer was aware of this it is what it is. It would be wise to have a signature required from your buyer in the future.

Batteries are known to have a risk to catch on fire. While charging or from a short which can be caused by damage from vibrations during use. Never charge it unattended and only in a fireproof area. Don't let people discourage you. All you can do is your best. Those are high amp output performance battery packs which should be treated with extra care. The owners and users need to use at their own risk and use responsibly. I keep my 2 batteries in a safe fireproof area and expect they might catch fire at any time. I enjoy your channel and learned alot about ebikes from you. New York has had alot of problems with ebike battery fires. Most people know about the risk. Just warn them that if they do not already know batteries in ebikes and electric cars sometimes catch on fire. Hope your flu passes soon.

Hey I remember in the video of his battery, he had one of those red chargers. Are they even balance chargers? As you don't use BMS in your builds witch is fine if your balance charging properly, with a quality charger. Just a thought.
He told me the min he step foot out of his car he said he done all his research and he didn't want to use a bms he brought that charger form his supplier

@@mickyb.8014 I agree bro, I don't see how people can diss E-bike-guy when the dude is basically teaching people how to do the DIY road and not expect anything in return, I put a BBS02 on a Carrara Hellcat frame, Put all new parts on it, Next will be the forks, The frame is only a Carrara but it is shaped in a way that makes it easier for me to get up 3 flights of stairs as I live on a 3rd floor, Still though I would only do the DIY bike road, I trust my own triple check putting things together, lol, And I can't figure out why, But the bike ride is so so much better when your hands made it happen, Plus when things do go wrong because you put it together yourself you can fix it yourself, It is the same with PC's, Now I knows how to build or as I say put the PC together, I will only go down the DIY with the PC stuff now that I have learnt how too, lol, But yeah it is people like Tommy here that makes the E-bike community and E-bike tech or ideas more available to anyone, I plan on doing an Enduro E-bike in a few months, I will buy the frame, And a BBSHD before the new BBSHD motors come out, Because all of the sudden you need to use the battery that is made by bafang to use the new Bafang motors, Big mistake Bafang is making doing that, With the Toseven motors that are now available, Bafang will loose a lot of customers doing the no Bafang battery then the motor won't work, Only thing I can't do is make my own battery, I can but because I live in a top floor flat, I can't risk the fire part, It is not only me who lives in this block< I bought the stuff to make my own battery but after seeing how easy it is for a fire to happen, The risk out weighs the benefits, I bought one of those Triangle 52v 20ah batteries off Amazon, What an amazing battery I will say the triangle ones DDU or something, Well worth the 360 pounds, It goes on for ever lol....
Yeah the DIY E-bike market is predicted to sell more than E-bikes from companies, In 2023 bikes made a staggering 50 billion, So the UK government needs to sort the E-bike laws out, If people never had restricted of 15mph and had some extra power, A lot more people would be riding E-bikes, The UK roads are so dangerous for bikes it ain't even funny no more, Ride on the UK roads at your own risk, God forbid not wearing a helmet, Yeah the UK is terrible for bikes....#

Oh yeah check out High Voltage on You Tube, He got a top discord all about E-bikes, High Voltage sells kits for the Bafang motors that lets just say makes the motor do things it not meant too, lol, Nor I will say High Voltage really do know a lot about E-bike motors, He overvolts the motors in real world testing to see how much power the motors can actually produce, But yeah High Voltage is well worth checking out bro...
@@mad-b264 Well said Mad (nice name) I built a 1500w48v rear hub kit build (Voilamart) but I had no clue about how to build it all, I'm good mechanically though but I really needed help and advice and Tommy was there for me (and a few others) I'd watched his shunt modding vid so I knew what to do when I did it on my stick Voilamart controller...
And wow does it go!!
I love it, I also bought what seems to be the exact same battery (ZBL-SJB-U004) 52v20 Traingle shape and it fits perfectly in my Scott 26" mtb bikes frame. The things I learnt from Tommy (and a few others) really helped me with my build, simple but important things like the right amount of washers on the inside of the rear axle when installing the wheel - and torque arms (which I improved upon by making my own so my wheels firmly in place and cannot go anywhere - same design Tommy uses now) well anyway, I learnt a lot of valuable info and like you said if you aren't totally happy with things you can improve upon them to make your bike just perfect for you.
I'm super happy with the 1500w build and even though it's technically not legal over here in the UK I'd not change it as personally I believe having the extra power of the 52v20a battery and the extra improved acceleration/torque from the shunt mod if anything it's just made me feel safer knowing I can power out of any sudden situations that may happen whilst out riding.
Also the extra power is useful as I can cruise comfortably knowing I've got great range so I don't have range anxiety.
Building my own e-bikes the best thing I've done in ages and I'd recommend it to anyone over a factory e-bikes, it's way cheaper, and you get better power/range etc..
My build altogether (bike was £70 from fbook marketplace and was in brand new condition) including the Scott26" mtb was just over £800 - Kit was 280 battery 369 lights + suspension post / seat etc and phone holder and the rest pushed it all up to £800 but for that money I've got a great e-bike that I just love every jourmey on, it's leagues ahead of most shop bought bikes that cost £2.5-3k - it makes sense to go down the DIY path.
I may go crazy next and build a 3000w72v one, but I'm happy for the time being 🤣

Next time you have a customer that wants to build a battery to their specs you make they ass sign a release form saying that they are liable for anything wrong that may happen after the build is finished. This will protect yourself and if they come back at you about it you just flash that piece of paper on your channel with the dates on it .
They won't say jack shit because you got receipts.
As a matter of fact you control the situation and say this is how I build my batteries and if you don't like the way I go about it find somebody else.
That way you aint gonna have any issues in the future (hopefully).

series-parallel to get the voltage/output for all the components? I've seen layout books for building these different batteries
but I had questions that stopped me 6-7 yrs ago? One was that I really thought we'd see drops in pricing by now & I also was

Glitter 801 is not up to the task. You need a hefty iron to build with the copper bus bars. Check my video to see what i used. 811a and h is what you need that can easily do 0.25 nickel and 0.15 pure copper sandwich. This guy you talking about cut corners and it was his supplied equipment.
