A very long time ago, I borrowed their first l.p. from a friend . I was staggered and since then the Bothy Band has defined my taste for Irish folk. With this reunion things for me have come full circle
They had the right mix of loose organisation leaving space for individual expression. When ever I feel down I put on 'Best of ' and I cheer up. Love to you all
The tunes in this set are all stalwart repertoire in the Manchester Irish music scene, I believe. Beautifully played here by the wonderful Bothy Band. So nice to hear this! 🎶⭐👍
The first act I ever present was in 1979 in Corvallis Oregon, It was Kevin Burke and Micheal O Domhnaill . They were also the first act I presented in Tucson in the early 1980's.. I have been in touch with Kevin ever since and I knew that this reunion was coming, with Sean taking Micheal's place.... Anyone know who is the second fiddler?
The sound is badly engineered especially the to The Sailor's bonnet at the end. It's like as if the soundman didn't know which musicians were taking the lead. I seen this happen in live situations before. I'm going to see them later on this year and I hope to hear better. It might be the last chance to see and hear the best.

Edgar, thank you more than I can say for posting these videos. They've been thunderbolts of joy in a dark time in my own life.
Long live The Bothy Band

There was a group called 'Toss the feathers ' playing in Manchester in the Eighties. I saw at the 32 Club. Brilliant mix of trad and rock.
We have arrived!!!🎉
An absolutely wonderful gig.Booked for the Nch in Dublin also

Still untouchable.
Thank you sooo much from someone who won't be able to see them in real. Ultimate legends! Who is that in Micheal's place?
It's Sean Og Graham.
@@mariesprayberry4139 Thank you!

I think Paddy Glackin, but I‘m not 100% sure
@@oliverroy19 You are correct!
