Smoothness & Noise Comparison Logitech G25 vs. Momo Force (No Power)

- Noise/smoothness comparison between the two wheels. Momo Force is higher pitch than G25. G25 has more of a rumble and feels a little granier when turning. G25 turns a little quicker. Both steering wheels are fantastic, but I think the Momo is better suited for Open Wheel (F1) as it feels more refined and has buttons, while the G25 is good for Turismo/GP racing.
Both wheels featured in this video are discontinued. For latest model, please see amzn.to/3xMZPC9
G25's rotation can be changed in 1 degree intervals between 40 and 900 degrees so it's just as good for an F1 sim as the Momo..
The red one is called MOMO Force and is the predecessor of MOMO Racing Force. Compared to the latter it's has aluminium parts (center plate, paddles, pedals and pedal step) and wheel itself is covered with handstitched leather. MOMO Racing Force is said to be an improved version but infact it's a step back in the name of cost reduction - aluminium parts have been replaced with plastic counterparts and the wheel has been coverd with rubber instead of leather. Built quality is not that bad though.
The momo red is the 1st gen. Momo wheel, which has metal pedals and paddles. The 2nd gen Momo wheel is all black, and has plastic pedals and wheels.
it does. I just got mine and it's awesome. Best wheel I ever had.
I like my momo wheel. The sensitive foot pedals are just like my car in real life. Also the big seller for me was having all the buttons on the wheel to adjust in car settings as I drive.
@TheAidster09 Make yourself clutch- no problem, H-Shifter- Make yourself- bigger problem, but more fun, and more life
I've competitively used the same Logitech Momo Force Racing Wheel (Red Edition) for over 20 years. God knows how many hundreds of thousands of miles I've raced using it or how many asses have been kicked and others racers dreams of glory shattered.
My eyes are moist just thinking about the sheer driving hours. This wheel is like a friend. I've thought about replacing it 25 times, but nothing feels as good, performs as well and I end up asking myself, "Why?"
Agreed, got it 2 days ago and it rocks
the logitech momo is considered one of the best racing wheels ever made
Yeah, I have the MOMO and it's awesome for Colin Mcrae 2005. However, I'm looking into the g27 because a clutch and a gearbox would be kinda fun (gotta remember those classic class B cars xD )
i think the g25 price is awesome, i paid 300 euro for my momo when it came out a few years ago...
so 189 euro for the g25 was amazing!
compareable wheels cost much much more like TSW's or something like that
AFAIK, there's the momo RED and the momo BLACK. You've got the black, which is the standard one. The red one, is like a limited edition one. Built a little bit better I think.
I had a G25 and sold it, due to the fact that
1: pedals are too close especially the clutch and brake.
2: there are only 2 buttons on the wheel and its painfull to adjust realtime car parameters, you have to take your hand off the wheel for too long.
3: force feedback is just not strong enough.
4: The gear shift broke while i was shifting fast and hard like i do in real life.
I think its personally suited to little feet!
@Netrex44 True. I hate that too, but this wheel is beast.
Today the G25 and G27 are like toys. Now Thrustmaster and Fanatec make the best wheels while Logitech still haven´t released a sucessor to G27.
The H Shifter isn't pictured here, which has *counts* 8 buttons and a 4 way D - Pad. Theres a video in my channel of mine.
I own both wheels in this video. The Force is better constructed, but the pedals are worst. It stands up better to heavy daily use.The G25 is the best all-round. It has more capability (900* rotation, better pedals, H+ seq. shifting, stronger feedback...better pedals. Force has stronger, thicker padded leather handgrip, more precise paddles. I've done the phenolic mod and lubricated my Force with Dow Corning #4...so there's absolutely zero noise and much more precision than the stock Force.
Old comment I know but how does that mod work?
g25 has 10 buttons + 4 arrows..momo is deffinetly for arcade games like Need for Speed..nothing else
I know, I guess I wasn't thinking that when I posted that comment though.
The G25 can be put into a sequential mode, or just use the paddle shifters... And it has better steering (more range) and is just better in every way.
thank you
If it has usb and you have a desk to mount the wheel your good to go.
H shifter works, but the clutchpaddle not on Undercover. in GT5:P both works.
The G25 sounds like this, because it is on a thin table which is made of WOOD
the momo was cool.. but i would recommend to buy aditional paddels cuz the momo paddels are supersensitive
the g25 paddels are cool, strong break and all
Drifting = G25
Sim Racing = MOMO
And what do you need a clutch for when you use a car with a sequential flappy paddle gearbox? I happen to have used both wheels for some time. Momo is my pick and I have some reasons for that. My fav ride in Live for Speed is the MRT5 go-kart and there's nothing better for that kind of vehicle than Momo Force, I can tell you that. Even the turning angle is bang on - 270 deg. - exactly the same as the real thing. To sum things up - G25 is neither better nor worse, it's just different.
its a bee flying around lol
@volcanochr with the g25 you need to turn 900 degrees if you want to turn around (you can install the degrees on the pc like 240 or 180 or 720 but on console only 900) and the logitech momo has only 240 degrees of turning (so it's a bit like rally or f1) and it maybe working on the ps3 (it's licesend for xbox360 and pc) and sorry for bad english i'm dutch you know. :)
I have the G25 but the MOMO is good too!
Well we all know that. If you compare a $80 dollar wheel next to a $220 wheel, the more expensive one will most likely win. However, in most race cars, the wheel does not do a full turn. I guess if you playing a game where you use street cars, the G25 would be good, but the Momo is good because you don't want to be turning it a whole bunch in the first place.
And by the way - the best cars are made in Italy ;).
i wanted to buy microsoft wheel but i change my mind i choose this its so cool
err, sorry about the double post but; Is there just 1 kind of MOMO and different colours? because I have a all black MOMO and only red buttons. So I am curious about this.
i totally agree with this
I need so much cables to operate my G25...
Yepp.. It's compatibile. G25 rocks on my PS3.
MOMO Force was the best wheel you could buy, until G25 has arrived :).
I owned a DFP and it was good only for 2 yrs oO. It broke!
i have the same wheel as well. i actually have both. i think it is pretty rare. you dont really see too many of them online either.
yeah The Shifter gives me probs do lol. The gears r so close together that sometimes it goes into the wrong gear O.o
g25 out of stock for 4-6 weeks think you can guess how PISSED i was :P i want to play live for speed for now im just getting adaptor for the 360 steering wheel
yeah.. the G25 is great, clutch, H type gear, but i don't have so much money so i'm going to buy the momo
racing cars don't require that much turning . Racing car wheels turn like -130-170 degrees from the initial point .
The G25 only has 2 buttons. That must suck for most driving games.
It's just a simple voice of wheel which is doesn't pluged in.
Most cars don't need buttons to be driven.
@wwws78 hehe, cheers mate
God i wish they released 900 degrees wheel for the xbox :( wish i had PC
yes you do
It's compatiple with PC and PS2 for sure. I also heard that it is compatible with PS3. (I'll test it out)
Speedlink is much better then momo. But cheeper hardware sometimes has the pedal problem. In Speedlink i found it at return spring in break pedal. Little movement was needed and everything is now working fine. For this price this peace of German stuff with leather is worth buing. G25 i very good but price is like a horror in daylight. I am not crazy....
@wwws78 THANKS!! do you know where the best place to get one would be??? or is it best to get one from their site??
heh i have the momo right now... but today i should get my g25 ... CANT WAIT!!!! :D
i got mine for $250 off ebay (new) still wanting for the arrival
This sound is normal in the G25? Thanks
Momo: 240º
G25: 900º (not compatible with all games)
in australia G25 is 500-600 AUD and momo is about 200
I thought about getting the G25 (now the G27) but I can't see how it can be that much better. I won't set the game to turn the wheel that far around to lock anyway i'm sure. I'll adjust the game to make it full turn way before spinning the wheel that far to get full steering. Who needs it to turn that far, and does it really help the sensitivity that much? I have been having good luck with my old momo still.
But polish, that wheel doesn't have a clutch. I need my clutch! I would probably buy a momo if it just had a clutch.
i have the same red logitech momo. this is the only other time ive seen the red momo, is it rare or something?
great so what you are telling me is that i have to now count the rotations with a g25
What us the difference between the regular MOMO and the MOMO force? Apart from the looks, I mean.
I've had the Momo Force, the stitched leather red one, for years but never even plugged it in and tried it. Is it really that good? I spose it ought to be, given how much i paid for it.
That's not true.
The Momo is the better (and/or more realistic) choice for modern F1 sims, as those cars don't use H-shifters. The G25 would be my choice for games where the cars I'm driving use H-shifters, like the superb vintage F1 sim, Grand Prix Legends. . .
mmm, i think know the one red and black and the gearshifter was just a tiny up/down operation, i actually bought another madkatz (i was suprised they were still in business) for my ps2 to play f1 05, nascar and need for speed, then i found out about this g25 last year! shit!
you seriously aren't using the G25 to its full effect if you're playing silly arcade racers like NFS. Get Grid, for entry level realism. GTR Evo to use the clutch and really feel like you're in it. I drove the caterham a few days ago and my memory is leading me to beleive I actually i drove that car a few days ago. Thats how good the G25 is, nothing comes close without spending seriously way more money.
@RanDomeProductions1 Oh shi~ you may check your dealers...G25 is no more in production
@RanDomeProductions1 G25 is not in production lol
he didn't centered it before.
yes, but there are so many simulators, and games like simulators... In Need for Speed series you are playing with a street car...
The Momo is the G 25 Father do u know why?
Just play a F1 mod and u will find it
you have 12 buttons on shifter!i dont have problems with that!
wow didnt know g25 was suchs a noise maker i have driving force pro and thats pritty noisy also
yeah, but this vid is a real pro test. How big lab do you have to have to perform such test? rofl
G25 sounds like angry dog
Yes.
it is you the one who has to anser that question, mate :)
@TheAidster09 This momo sucks...I have another model and it completely rules for rally and F1 racings but now I have G27...Can't wait for tomorrow cause I'll test it. But I love my momo still, it was an amazing wheel I loved it. Gave it to my friend so we will face against outselves (:
Real good comparing, why just dont write?
i want a G25 :(
MOMO is better
my hypotheses is MOMO IS MORE OF A BUDGET WITH 30 - 80 DOLLARS
Yea, but whati s the problem to make clutch? 20$ for high quality DIY pedals.
900 degree- You can do it for about 0,5-1$. H shifter- DIY high quality, full metal ummm... 30-50$ (much better than this G2X shit)
i gt my g25 last friday and it came with rfactor
Use 1,5 Lockable potentiometer and cut plastic ,,lock"
lol of cos...other wheels have one 1 motor to generate the force...g25 has 2 :D
so did mine then i bought the full version of rfactor but its a bloody hard game
Good fucking god, my g25 makes the same noise. ='( I really hope it won't get any worse. otherwise I have to buy a dam t500rs
why the g25 just go 180 º to left side??
i hav a momo i tried it on the ps3 on gt5 it works!!!!!
maybe, he likes to drive older cars, like me, instead nowadays le mans cars, i rather drive 80's and 90's cars. the same with f1, back in the day those cars had clutch and h shifter
just wheel and pedals, (accel and brake).
i have DFGT now and i know how much is 900, 720, 540, 360, 270
Do it faster, like in logiteh, because in logiteh u do that faster then momo ;]
Must be a bitch changing gears while turning the wheel all that way round. I got an old Logitech Wingman Formula Force GP. Havn't used it in ages due to no decent driving games available for a hell of a long time. But I could see that it would be good for test drive unlimited if the games steering wheel turned inside the car the same way. I havn't played it so I can't really comment on it. Does the g25 have force feedback? I'm sure it does, just want confirmation on it.
i have both of those and there awsome but preffer the g25 feel
i think the g25 turns ALOT faster
course its a good comment. I said it 8) :P
LOL! i own the momo :P
I want the momo to put on my g25 :(
Can't find one (the red one)
what you need buttons for :P?
@TominCZIT but the momo is easier... :)
