Don't worry about what bad people say. You are good and you get to show us around. I like it when you smile, handsome guy. LOL Thank you for your videos, AK.
A triple thumbs up on the video of traveling from JFK to Midtown. Many people including myself appreciate the information about the fare on the air train and subway. You put in a lot of effort in making this video while enduring a few "characters " on the subway ride and just sitting and not narrating. I know that was hard but the video was great anyway. Thanks for your extraordinary effort.
I did this exact trip in Feb of this year. It was my first time in NY, the funny part was someone asked me if the E train was the correct one to take to Manhattan. When it pulled up I told them this is it, I learned it from watching youtube videos. Its super easy and a good value.
Want to add some things: You can buy a MetroCard at the “Hudson News” vendors inside the airport. The MetroCards purchased here are not subject to the $1 new card fee. Purchasing a MetroCard from the machines at the airport or subway station, and the ticket booth at the subway station are subject to the $1 new card fee. I asked a Hudson News vendor located in the arrivals section of Terminal 4, and they informed that they only sell Pay-Per-Ride MetroCards in 2 ride, 4 ride, and 8 ride denominations. When using a Pay Per Ride MetroCard (currently $2.75 each ride), you get one free transfer between the bus and the subway, as long as the transfer is made within 2 hours of the first use. It is possible to skip the $5.00 AirTrain fee entirely (going up to $7.75 in November 2019) by taking the Q10 or B15 public bus and transferring to the subway. You can also walk from the Lefferts Boulevard AirTrain Station to the Aqueduct - North Conduit Avenue (A) Train Station. This takes around 20 minutes but isn't something I would recommend. When using an Unlimited Ride MetroCard, everyone in your party will need to purchase one. You will need to wait 18 minutes between uses on the same bus route or subway station so the card can’t be shared. Subway service on the weekends is usually different than the weekdays do to planned maintenance and service changes. This website is amazing for showing the service changes on the weekends and the author updates it every Friday: subwayweekender.wordpress.com Be wary of illegal taxis and car services at the airport, who may charge higher fares. Awesome! Keep in mind the fare for the AirTrain increased to $7.75 now. You can pay only $2.75 by taking the Q10 bus at Terminal 5 and transferring to the subway at Lefferts Boulevard.
This is so great! You provide a lot of common sense and practical information. No silly joking around. This is the type of video I look for but never seem to find before going to a new place or when I want to revisit. I’ve been catching up with your other Walking Videos. Excellent!

I‘ve been exactly there 2 years ago! JFK, LIRR and the subway. Thanks for bringing back the memories. Keep up with those awesome videos. Greetings from Germany.
I used the Airtrain at JFK last month the video was very useful so much easier to purchase Airtrain ticket and 7 day subway ticket at the newsagent and avoid queues . Thx
I have made this trip multiple times and it can be somewhat stressfull for the first couple of times especially with lugage, I apreciate your walkthrough it's going to help a lot of people !
I got very upset..with that person who was very disrespectful, however, i am very proud of you in the manner in which you handle it. I salute you...i certainty..without a doubt appreciate the huge sacrifice you made in doing this video. KID... you'er world class!!! stay cool!!!!
Those who are uneasy about being filmed are most likely wanted by the authorities . Why else would they care. Pay no mind to them . Keep up the good work . You are an awesome filmmaker. 🇺🇸
I used to take the NYC airport bus for $35 round trip from JFK to 41st one block south of Grand Central Terminal. Not cheap but at night it was fast - one time at night it took 20 minutes to get to Manhattan ( no traffic on the Van Wyck and the speed must have been 70 mph) but during the day it could take 90 minutes. Now they have cut back their hours to 11 am to 7 pm. I will probably take a taxi next time.
Hi. Just I want to say: Thank you. I appreciate your video. It's so useful to people who aren't from NYC, like me. I'm making a plan to visit this city and your video got me a big help.
OMG thank you for this. I have a solo trip to New York soon and I wanted to know how to take the airtrain to my hostel in Mid Manhattan as I didn’t want to take an Uber or bus.....coming from London this is so appreciated thank you loads 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I have done this journey several times now and so wish I had had the opportunity of this excellent video beforehand. Arriving at JFK is frustrating - the immigration process feels just that. They are processing you and if you are not sure or are tired after a long flight it can feel a bit aggressive. Don't be afraid to ask though, most staff are friendly and helpful once you say you are confused. The whole AirTrain transfer to E train can also be confusing, Uptown? Downtown? Best advice, plan needing that bit more energy after landing and be patient. This video helps a lot
Ironically those people who fly business/first arriving with extra energy are the same people who just get a black cab to wherever they're going... D'oh!
You did the perfect thing handling the situation we are all with YOU, thanks for the well informed video👍 Wow memories, I live for 34 years near Kew Gardens, Union Tpk station, now live in Kaohsiung, Taiwan 🇹🇼
It’s great to see Jamaica station again, lots of years since I went through there! Not surprised by the guy that hassled you, there is a PINAC movement here in the UK on UA-cam that has loads of those interactions. I am going to try to return to NY 20 years on from ground zero COVID and travel permitting, it will be good to go back to there again. Great video’s as ever, keep up the good work Kenneth, still one of the best vlogs on UA-cam.
This might be your best video yet, as it's brilliantly useful for anyone arriving in the city. I love watching most of your work as it's a great substitute for when I'm not able to be there in person. It makes me a virtual tourist, I guess. Just one negative though - sometimes less taking? I don't need to be told as you pass a tattoo parlour that it's a tattoo parlour, or when you pass Luigi's restaurant that it's Luigi's. Or when it's raining heavily you can get wet. But keep up the great work - love it.
Obviously he was up to no good if he didn't want to be filmed... Don't let people like him discourage you. You have many people who support what you're doing. Take care :)
Hi!, I took this option to get to lower Manhattan, airtrain and subway line J because it's by far the cheapest way. I liked a lot the airtrain service. I arrived new York at the terminal 8. Maybe next year in July I'll fly to New York again. I couldn't vsist all the places I wanted. I take great memories of that city. Have a great week! 👍
Enjoyed watching this video tonight. I saw when you were on the Air Train leaving terminal 8 a UIA plane (Ukraine International Airlines). I was in New York a month ago with my family and it was my first visit to the city since I passed through on a round trip from Newark-JFK to Kiev Ukraine in 1994 on the now defunct Air Ukraine airlines. I watched tons of your videos before we visited the City. Keep up the good work.
Done this journey many times travelling from Ireland to meet my now wife in NYC. Shame about the moron at Jamaica, we stayed in that area a few times and it wasnt the most pleasant. First time I've commented on one of your videos, keep up the brilliant work, this one is super helpful for people arriving first time.
I've ridden the "Jamaica Center to JFK monorail" on a few occasions back and forth on either side of the monorail for at least 1 hour straight just to see what the train was passing by between 14:59 & 22:27. I'd simply get on the monorail at Jamaica Center and ride all the way out to JFK and back 2 or 3 times straight in 1 hour and then end for the day. 6 months later I'd do it again. That was more than 5 years ago.
I couldn't see it with my own eyes, but Pan Am WorldPort (Terminal 3) and National Airlines SunDrome (Terminal 6) should've been preserved as the jewels they were.
Great work actionkid these videos are very helpful and great to watch!!! Don’t worry about the jerk on the subway that guys a waste of space. Keep theses videos coming buddy🙂
Hello Ken. I just caught this video today. Great tutorial on travel to Manhatten from JFK. I always got a ride from family or friends when I left New York City. Nice to see this way though. You handled it very well my friend. Be careful and stay safe.
hey great job action kid really appreciate your vlog, never been to new york but will be there in a couple of weeks and this vlog an all your other vlogs have been very down to the point. your info is very informative and would try to remember as much pointers as you gave while i am staying in NYC
You are great !! ... this video helps us a lot ... thank you very much for making the route from the airport to Manhattan !! ... how great your attitude with the man sitting in front of you (subway) ... 💝💝 💝
Awesome video. I just did this same trek a week ago and was confused coming back to Manhattan as I took the A train to JFK and the E back. Wish I had seen this before I travelled to JFK.
Great video my friend, keep it up. I’m from England and been to NY twice, not yet got used to all the hassle buying metro cards etc from the machines or figuring out what I need. If you’re on your own it can be daunting and New Yorkers are not known for their patience.
Thank you very much for this video. Even though its quite long, it really help me to understand each and very method to choose for NY public transport. Keep up the good work!
I visited NYC back in 2015 and I took a taxi all the way to Newport, Jersey City, NJ. I watched this video to see if taking the AirTrain and then the E Line could've been a better alternative, and I am glad I did take the taxi instead. Best $120 I've ever spent.
These are fantastic, I can pretty much smell New York courtesy of your work. In a good way. This journey is almost exactly the one I took when I had to go there from London for work in 2013 (first time out of 5 or 6 trips there in 4 years) I'd been to New York in the 1980s when it was a very different city altogether and a pretty terrifying experience for someone who had hardly left Warrington in my then 19 years (Warrington is bleak place in the north west of England, in between Manchester and Liverpool, with absolutely nothing going for it, except easy access to motorways away from it). In the 1980s I found NYC pretty terrifying, but still more friendly than I had been expecting. TOO friendly in the case of one particular cab driver, who decided to abduct me. A short trip from my hotel near the Empire State Building to meet a friend who was in Greenwich Village, turned into me diving out of the cab somewhere in deepest Harlem / Washington Heights (I had no idea where I was at the time, just managed to work out we had not been going in the right direction) and realizing that the cab driver was actually serious when he said he was taking me back to his place 'for a shower'. I was quite pretty then, to be fair. I loved my journey on the Sky Train in 2013, the station I changed at had a big sign saying it was the birthplace of Count Basie, was that Jamaica? I had no idea where to go to get the subway, it took about 30 seconds for a passing local to help me out. What an incredible, ridiculously friendly, generally awesome city it is. It was a dull business trip, I was staying not far from the office, round the corner from Times Square. I could see the bloody office from my hotel room. Annoying. I'd picked the Intercontinental because it was opposite Birdland and I was off to the Friday Big Band session. It was also opposite a dodgy little bar, which turned out to be fine. I popped in 'for one quick beer' at 1730hrs after work, met an ex-US Marine called Kane, who had a hard time in the Lebanon and was making up for it by being super-hospitable to strangers now instead of, well, you know. Got back to the hotel (opposite) at midnight. Great city, great videos. Do more please.
Thank you very much for enjoying this video and sharing your experiences with the city. The taxi driver story was scary! I’m happy to realized he wasn’t driving to your original location and you bailed.
Don't worry about what bad people say. You are good and you get to show us around. I like it when you smile, handsome guy. LOL Thank you for your videos, AK.
You handled yourself with dignity and respect with that guy at Jamaica Station. The bigger man walks away from conflict.
Charles Elliott prince of peace💜
the weak walks away and justify its weakness as the honorable thing to do =)
Agreeing with your comment Charles!!!🕊
Yes he did! kudos to our Vlogger
Depends. Sometimes it is better to take a stand and stop people from doing it to others.
I really appreciate travel vloggers like ActionKid, because you can only learn so much from Google Maps & Street View.
A triple thumbs up on the video of traveling from JFK to Midtown. Many people including myself appreciate the information about the fare on the air train and subway. You’re welcome! It was a challenge to make this video all in one take!
May 2020, I'm leaving from Norway to live in NYC for three months. Cant wait!
You may not realise it, but you are going to miss that place after you leave!
The city is fascinating ! Enjoy your stay 🤗
Mathin3D .
Yo, I’m headed to NYC in May as well!
The best 3 months in your life. You'll see
Hahaha I loved it when you where in the elevator and the cam to your face
Standard awkward don’t talk to me elevator face

Way to go! You learned it here first!
Hello, yes i agree taking the E metro and taking the Airtrain is the best and cheapest way to travel from Manhattan to JFK.
OMG, that was scary! You handled the situation very well, like a very educated person! Proud of you! Thank you for the video! Take care!
I like the video going, to NYC next month I haven't been back in 8 years.
Just remembered, the best piece of advice I was first given in NY is “don’t look like a tourist and walk don’t dawdle along” worked for me!
This is same attitude I have wherever I travel, but especially on visits to NYC.

Awesome! Keep in mind the fare for the AirTrain increased to $7.75 now. You can pay only $2.75 by taking the Q10 bus at Terminal 5 and transferring to the subway at Lefferts Boulevard.
Hi Actionkid, Great video and so informative. Remember never to let one bad apple spoil the way you do things.
That airport is huge. Thanks for the video. 👍
This is so great! You provide a lot of common sense and practical information. No silly joking around. This is the type of video I look for but never seem to find before going to a new place or when I want to revisit. I’ve been catching up with your other Walking Videos. Excellent!
Thank you very much!
I love all your raw videos. I will be in NY in October and when I travel places I prefer to know all my ways before I go so I am prepared whereas my wife likes everything to be a surprise so we complement each other. This video made me realize that I need way more time than I thought coming and going to JFK. Also I think I am prepared for the street toughs.
Have taken a limo service in the past because of the luggage hassle. Thanks for the informative narration and showing a less expensive alternative method of traveling to Midtown from JFK. Also thanks for putting up with the all trouble and inconvenience you encountered in making this vlog. You handled the situation well.
Thank you very much!!!
Please stay safe as you are the nearest best thing to an avatar that I have as I can no longer travel due to Motor Neurone Disease but I can travel through your eyes, thank you.
That was exactly my way at 14th of July with my son. Thanx for this great video!
Thank you for this. I arrive from the UK to JFK on Friday. Now I understand how to get to Times Square using the E train. Very interesting video
Thank you for sharing your adventure with us! I'll probably never get to see New York in person, but I really love to travel virtually with other people. I really love this! Thanks! ❤😁💋💖🤗

Can’t wait to experience that in October 😁
Those who are uneasy about being filmed are most likely wanted by the authorities . Why else would they care. Pay no mind to them . Keep up the good work . You are an awesome filmmaker. 🇺🇸
They are on video the entire time anyway. Most all of NYC is under video surveillance.
@@MrSloika Those videos aren't usually being uploaded to the internet though
Amazing work you do with all those informations you provide to us. Thank you mate 💯

Thanks Action Kid, his week you took me to Boston, what a beautiful quant town that is. I sure would like to see it during the spring or summertime.

I gave you as many Thumbs Up as I could. Thanks for the ride.
One of the most helpful travel vids I have seen. The scariest things I think are the ticket machine lines. Need to think about that before I travel.
That was an excellent video. You were a great "tour guide". Wow! Traveling around
New York is sure different now!
Thank you 😊
Your the best kid, love you enjoy your vidz.Hold your head high your the man
You are the best mate. Thanks so much this was a brilliant video full of very helpful information. Keep up the great work.
Thanks!
I was just thinking about having a video from a subway on an elevated track and how nice it would be.
We got to see what you look like Actionkid !
Entertaining and information I can use next time I'm in the city. Sorry about the grouch yelling at you; you handled it perfectly.
Thank you

Another great ActionKid video! Keep them coming Kid!
Thank you for putting up this video. It is helpful for us as first time visitors to NYC.
Thank you so much for your videos of NYC and your tips I live in Jersey but going to NYC this is very helpful
È un video fantastico, dall’inizio alla fine senza interruzione. A febbraio vengo a New York e mi sei stato molto utile, grazie 🙏.
You can do whatever you want with your camera 😊 and what you recording is really good four people they come and visit New York City
Great video !! Keep up the good work and take care !!
Thank you!
Hey man! Jose here again. Thanks so much for this. Now if I ever go to NY, I'll just reference this video. Nice job again.

ActionKid biggest thanks ror this full video. Its was very interesting👍
Google: JFK has six terminals, containing 128 gates, numbered 1-8 but skipping terminals 3 (demolished in 2013) and 6 (demolished in 2011).
I couldn't see it with my own eyes, but Pan Am WorldPort (Terminal 3) and National Airlines SunDrome (Terminal 6) should've been preserved as the jewels they were.

Thanks for a realistic view of this trip from JFK to midtown.............
Hello Ken. I just caught this video today. Great tutorial on travel to Manhatten from JFK. I always got a ride from family or friends when I left New York City. Nice to see this way though. You handled it very well my friend. Be careful and stay safe.
thank you for your video. It will help me a lot when I visit NYC next month.
What I loved about the NYC subway system was that even if you made a mistake you could always get back on "track" very easily. *winks*
hey great job action kid really appreciate your vlog, never been to new york but will be there in a couple of weeks and this vlog an all your other vlogs have been very down to the point. your info is very informative and would try to remember as much pointers as you gave while i am staying in NYC
You are great !! ... this video helps us a lot ... thank you very much for making the route from the airport to Manhattan !! ... how great your attitude with the man sitting in front of you (subway) ... 💝💝 💝
Thank you for this wonderful video! I just started my virtual holiday, I'll be "traveling" for the next few days.
Little over a week and i'll be riding the same train from Terminal 4 to Jamaica station for a 10 day vacation in NY.... Excited!
Thank you for this video, I’m coming to New York from London on Monday and this was really helpful
Awesome video. I just did this same trek a week ago and was confused coming back to Manhattan as I took the A train to JFK and the E back. Wish I had seen this before I travelled to JFK.
Very well done and informative. Good that E train is well thought out maling just the very important stops enroute from Queens to Manhattan
You did a tremendous job, Actionkid! Very informative! Thank you!
Thank you. This is very informative for people about to visit the city.
This was super beneficial for my trip. Thanks AK
Great video my friend, keep it up. I’m from England and been to NY twice, not yet got used to all the hassle buying metro cards etc from the machines or figuring out what I need. If you’re on your own it can be daunting and New Yorkers are not known for their patience.
Very informative video! 😊
Thank you Actionkid 😊
We will definitely use your recommendations when we arrive in New York 😊
thank you for that , and the time you took out to make this
Great video, thanks for sharing. It is very helpfull because I will visit NYC hopely in may 2022
Thank you very much for this video. Even though its quite long, it really help me to understand each and very method to choose for NY public transport. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for this, if I go to NYC I know what to expect.
I visited NYC back in 2015 and I took a taxi all the way to Newport, Jersey City, NJ. I watched this video to see if taking the AirTrain and then the E Line could've been a better alternative, and I am glad I did take the taxi instead. Best $120 I've ever spent.
Great!
Almost a year later, but anyhow. We really appreciate the hard work. Keep it up.
Another great video my man keep on filming brother
Thanks for all your work 👍🏼 Stay safe out there.
Excellent work! Your information was spot on. Sorry for the jerk at the Jamaica Station.
Thank you!
Doing a great job I'm watching from Ireland 🇮🇪 that nasty piece of work don't let him stop you doing the great job you are doing
Thank you for sharing your video..i’ll be in new york tomorrow and its gonna be my first time.
You’re welcome!
