I saw the movie not long after the album came out. I saw that added it on Hulu so I was like hell yeah! Probably one of my more fav body horror films as well now
@@awesomefishguy So here's why you're mistaken about "The Thing" (excellent movie BTW)... That's less a body horror flick than a psychological horror movie. The scariness comes from the paranoia and dread that you don't know who's the Thing and who you can trust. The grossness of what a revealed Thing can look like isn't what's so scary about that film. Brundle's transformation in "The Fly" by contrast is a large part of the scariness within the film. It's ultimately about him losing his humanity and becoming deranged and dangerous, and that begins well before he devolves and still looks human. But unlike the Thing, which only shows up for about 5 minutes out of the entire movie, Brundlefly is in half of the film. It's more prominent, and it sells what's so awful about his condition. Both amazing movies, and I'd personally put them side by side as the two greatest horror movies ever made. But "The Fly" is definitely more body horror than "The Thing" really is.

i have officially listened to the whole record in one sitting at, ear piercing volumes actually... and i genuinely loved every track. my only wish is for Ex-Mortis to one day have a music video because Evil Dead 2 is my favorite horror movie of all time and i kick it into my 1997 VCR combo tv almost once a week because my cats love watching it for some reason.
INK has such a way with writing, they capture the essence of the movie and it fits so perfectly , and the bridge to this and world in my hands are so epic
@@jonthepop it's a Body Horror love story about a man who is creating teleportation pod devices, how they work is that it rips you and your DNA apart and puts you back together in the next pod. This man falls in love with a reporter who works for her ex. He decides to go in the pods himself for the first time since he has been experimenting with animals, when he went into one of the pods a fly flew right into his pod and got trapped inside. So then both his DNA and the fly were fused together and he slowly becomes a man-fly hybrid throughout the film, its a very emotional story cause you feel bad for the couple, and it is definitely not a fun experience for the audiences eyes to witness the gore.
its interesting that the "time period" this song covers is like... riiiiiiight before the horror in the movie hits. its really more of a mad scientists theme than describing the body horror. its interesting! i like it! it feels like itd be in a theoretical The Fly musical and it ends with him trying the machine or something
