My "good" local tyre fitted actually fitted the lettering on my cooper discoverer tyres facing inwards!! I had to insist he took them off and flipped them around!
Good "how to" video! However, sometimes you will come across a set of tires that the blue doesn't come off easy at all, no matter what you try. If that is the case, you will just need to use lots of elbow grease, lots of time and patience.
What is the blue solution? You mention a soap? I need to recreate the blue for a concours restoration I'm completing. I know, strange request. Great video, btw.
Hey Jimmy, that's an interesting one! I haven't learned anything more about it apart from it being a "soap solution". Two options, I guess. If you have a manufacturer in the area, you could reach out, otherwise you might be able to make something up using blue food colouring? ~Jared
Nup, not really possible, as the white is actually rubber that's underneath the black, which is why you'll sometimes see tyres that are rubbed white if someone is a kerb parker. You could paint them, but that'd just rub off. That said, all tyres I know of with white writing have one side black, one side white, so you can just mount them the other way round.
Agreed. I spent many years in the tire business and never saw anything like the new BFG blue stuff. It’s back breaking trying to remove that stuff. It’s ridiculous.
@@TyreReviewVideos I installed it the other way around and was about to paint it white until I saw this video and then I had to go back and put the white lettering out side
WHAT!? No annoying shouting host!? No annoying music?! Straight to the point!? We need more videos like this!
Aiming to please!
Short, informative, and to the point. Thank you for your hard work!
Cheers mate!

extremely helpful and straight to the point! thought my coopers were gonna stay blue but this video saved me
Great to hear mate!
Thank you. I just got a new tire and was wondering how to remove the blue stuff.
No problem 👍
Any good tire dealer....right! Guy that installed my tires didn't bother cleaning the blue off. He was like- it's your problem.
Blue protection was my nightmare before this video...! 😅😅😅👍👍👍
Thank you so much I bought some radicals and I thought they ordered the wrong ones for me and I freaked out and stressed so much but I found this !
Thanks! I was wondering what that blue stuff was!
I found that soapy water and a scotch brite pad also worked (I didn’t have an aggressive enough brush)
Yes! Anything like that which will take off the top layer will work 👍

I figured it was something to protect, good to know how to remove just encase I have to do it my self.
Good to hear!
Thanks for the video 👍🏻
Thanks mate, good video!
You're welcome!
I used tye scrubber side, and the white letters roughed up. Not smooth anymore
That's not cool!
Thanks for the tip!
You're welcome!
Man thanks i almost returned them
What if the blue stuff is stayed on does it effect the tires?
Nope! If anything it'll protect the writing a little until you're ready to take the blue off the white writing 👍

van you also remove the white letterings??

So does regular dish soap work or something stronger?
Yep! It's more just something to help the scrubbing action.
@@TyreReviewVideosnegative, my letters are still blue
Perfect !
Thanks mate!
Unless it’s the 2020-21 bf Goodrich. Nothing takes that off. More like paint that’s permanent. Wet sanding with Sandpaper
Snap. I haven't had to have a go at them! That's hardcore.
Agreed. I spent many years in the tire business and never saw anything like the new BFG blue stuff. It’s back breaking trying to remove that stuff. It’s ridiculous.
Ouch! Maybe a machine buffer or something?
Totally right. BF needs to fix that problem. I'm here for a the same problem and it has to be sanded off.
I just washed off the blue from some brand new BFG AT KO2 tyres and it came straight off with a disposable wipe, didn't even need a scrub

OH MY GOD IM SO DUMB
Oh man, what'd you do?!

Wow, that's next level commitment to get white lettering! Glad you were able to get it sorted 💪
Lmao
Wait, are you laughing at my gloves?! How dare you!
WD-40 and gone in seconds! Forget soap and water!
WD-40 is not good for rubber, though.
Thanks
Very good video thx!
