In this video I explain the gain structure I used to work a station in Poland. It gave me an opportunity to show some “real-world” operation. Note that the techniques I use in this video can be applied to most transceivers on the market today, including Yaesu, Elecraft, Kenwood, ICOM, Flex Radio, ANAN, and others. Just be aware that the attenuation options will differ between the various radio brands and specific models.

The gain structure and other techniques shown in this video works with the Yaesu FTdx10, FTdx101, and FT-710. Certain transceivers from other manufacturers offer similar features. For Kenwood transceivers, you would not enable any preamplifier in order to simulate IPO.

I never made a video about how to perform the MARS mod. I mentioned that you must send Yaesu a copy of your MARS license and they will send the instructions.
