- E5: The Potbelly Stove has lots of Friends that Love to bring it Wood on a Cold Winter Day: Episode 5 of The RM Brooks General Store. In this episode we see how the local customers always pitch in and help Tiffany with chores around the old General Store. The locals help bring in wood, supplies and even try to fix the ticking sound in the Pepsi cooler.

It's because divided, "diverse" communities don't band together to stand up against corruption or bad leaders. They're too busy being suspicious about each other to notice or care about what the leaders are doing.

I remember stores like this in the 70s when I'd go visit family in WV and KY. Even strangers like myself were treated like family. Feels good to see this tradition being carried on!

The old stores where way more to every community than just a store❤
Oh yes,used to get together to gossip, play checkers in the winter by the wood stove,talk deer hunting,share recipes.. everyone was just one big family.

My wife and I visited this store recently. We loved it! The food was great! It is indeed the best bologna sandwich in all of Tennessee. Tiffany is a treasure.

I'll always remember the wood stove in my grandpa's little country store in east Tennesee. It was near a candy case and created an enticing aroma of a warm fire and sweets. I wish that scent could be put in a soul freshener.

Now that's the kind of place I like to visit. There an old hardware store in Lodi Indiana that serves up soups and sandwiches and or a bowl of chili and coffee. When I took my mother over there we took a tour of the store and reminisced about some of the old fashioned tools and so on. Happy we finished our bowl of chili and a burger the folks there invited us to stick around and socialize. We ended up being there for an hour and really enjoyed visiting with those folks.

😊😊 thats the best way 2 bring the stove wood in 😮😮 since a wheel borrow wont go through the door that U dont have 2 carry it all of the time ⌚ 😊 and U pull a wagon easy than pushing a wheel borrow I still remember those wagons from when I was a kid all of those many years ago that stove pipe needs a damper in it U close it 2 keep all of the heat from going out of the chimmey 😊😊 OMG 9 21 2O24

I spent three years working at one of the DOE sites in Oak RIdge. On weekends I often drove around seeing the sights. On one trip to Jamestown (Jim Town) to visit the old home and grave of Alvin York, and stopped by this wonderful store. This is a Tennessee Icon and I found the folks so friendly and very helpful to this Okie……….Just Great Memories

Beautiful people, beautiful place. I grew up in a small town with a store like that, the pop bottles were in a Coke machine with ice cold water bath you slid them out. All the locals had their own receipt book kept behind the counter we called our ‘bill’ we paid monthly. We’d just get what we needed and say “put it on my bill’. My friends parents owned it so we’d go after hours and get a treat, Hostess lemon pies with Mountain Dew. 😂

I wanna go to this store and get biscuits and gravy for breakfast then sit around and talk to, watch, visit with all the people then lunch, gotta have at least one of those cheeseburgers!!!! I’d fall in love with that place real quick!!!! I’d even fetch the firewood and stoke the old potbelly.

The general store of the town I grew up in had 1 of those stoves. Big building & it had swayed floors & in the winter that stove was cherry red. Wish for those times again.

My how the world has changed, Instead of moving back home to help with the farm now they move back home and design ground stations for drones. Amazing!!!! At least there's still somebody minding the store.

Great video John love the old store and friendly folks. There's an old ice creme shop in Sand Gap Kentucky called The Frosty Ette been open for yrs. Jackson Ciunty ,Ky. Another old store in Preston,Ky is open been open since the 1920s. They cut bologna sandwiches by the cash register. If you wanna get something cool on film go in October they call it trade days. Guns,knives, the whole little town is a flea Mkt.
