Winter is coming folks! Time to launch more materials down the mountain to the cliff cabin, and winterize the lake property! I wanted to tackle the grouting of my wood stove surround, but boy-oh-boy, that was more of a struggle than I anticipated. I felt like I made a total mess of it. Not having running water and a sink, and the right amount of tools and time wasn't helping matters 🤨
Fingers crossed snow doesn't come until December (or even late November), so that I can get out to work a bit on this place. I just have a sneaking suspicion snow will come early this year, and be a lot! 🤪
    Thanks for watching friends!

Hi Michy, grout work is hard the way your doing it. A little advice were rubber gloves Thick ones ,using your finger works but you will sand the skin off the finger tips, as a Tile setter we call them strawberry's, and the sting like pins and needles when they are raw skin. .
About rinsing your sponges just have a couple 5 gallon buckets half full of water to rinse and squeeze them. Good luck hope this helps out.

99% certain she is driving on a portion of the historic Kettle Valley Railway. An old Old steamer rail system where engines used to chug steep inclines carrying passengers and freight through the interior down to the lower mainland. It is worth a search to read its history but the KVR was taken out of service due to high cost, high hazard, derailments and lives lost especially through winters huge snow accumulations and slides. All that it was still a marvel of engineering through some of the most incredible and scenic parts of British Columbia, Canada. 🇨🇦

Here's a tip for next time that you have grout work. You can make a small grout spatula out of an old butterknife. Grind the edge of the blade to make it narrower to the desired width. Put it in a vise and bent the flat blade into a Z-shape. P.S.- I heard you say something about Clyde. I hope that he is OK. I know that he is getting old. You are good to your pets. I hope everything is alright with Clyde. Oh yeah! Thanks for the tip on the Delete Me. My identity was stolen also in 2003. They have my address, birthdate, and phone number. I'm going to give this a try to see if I can get them to delete my information they soe may have. Thanks a lot!

CLYDE!!! I simply love seeing him. I'm not exactly sure why this one video was so fun to watch but the scenes from "Clifford" were serene and dreamlike. Such a spectacular view. Now safety Nancy here! Take time next time to clean up your trail so that come winter there are not hidden trippers underfoot. Anytime I try to work around a problem and leave it for another day I end up getting tripped up by that choice. Be careful "Barbie" we all want you fit and healthy for your (our) next adventure.

    "Look at that view..." Indeed.
Makes me homesick for the Lake and the old cabin, (opposite shore from yours) spent a lot of time there and truly miss it when you feature those scenes. Clyde D. Bear and the other doggos are yet another reason to tune in for the Michy-vids.

As an old logger I like to see you wearing chaps now when bucking with the saw, things can go south in a hurry, especially working alone. You should check into fallers pants, they make them stretchy & comfortable now, offer more protection and are easy on the knees & calves when kneeling or crawling around when you need to.

I will say this though, some of the coolest things that I've learned and some of the best tricks that I found out have been because I made a mistake. And my role has always been that. It's only a mistake if you do the same thing twice. If you do it once, it's a learning experience. If you repeat that same thing well then it's a mistake. And I try not to make mistakes

Hey Mich! Me Again Dawna the miner gal! I see you put a line up to move lumber on a cable from one place to another. VERY good idea! In the mining industry we call those tag lines or trolley lines. Those are used for carrying ore and equipment back and forth from the mine down to a mill or whatever, especially if the mine is way up on a mountainside and needs everything needs to be moved up or down that mountainside. Those arent used as much nowadays because of the lack of underground mining but was used a lot back in the old days.
Also sometimes all that work is just too much for just one person to where you need help at times. Same as i do when doing my mines but i usually try to do as much as i can by myself and sometimes it takes me a day or so to get my body back into operation since i get so sore nowadays. 😵‍💫

Good morning 🌅, You 2 and the family of hounds,🐶, great to hear that Steve is a lot better with his back, not sure whether they are available over in your neck of the woods, they don’t grow on trees but they are quite good very very large mastic gun, for doing mortar,
They are around 3 inches in diameter , and they have different size nozzles to fit on the end, from very fine to around nearly inch in diameter, might be worth picking one of these up if you can locate one, just operate it the same way as you do a normal mastic gun, might have been better to stack your timber alongside your cabin on the decking an inch or so off the deck so when it pours down rain, it’s not sitting in the water, I see that mermaid is still about, you might of heard of them they called The Pioneer log Homes company, BC , if you go on their website, you might get some ideas, something you’ve got to think about is how you are going to get the materials down, helicopter, 😮😮😂.
Keep up the great work , stay safe, Look forward to your next project, From France.

      @@_Boregard_Rippy_ Kindly check your stats:
Bette Midler won 3 Grammys; including for the FIRST recording of "The Rose" in 1979 for the movie of the same name.
She has three of four "notches" to hold EGOT status.
Conway, while talented, is hardly a legend.

... Ms Midler has and abrasive side and played the annoying woman in films and her nasal vocal tone is Rosanne Bar ish on its bess day thats why she sold less than 1M copies of The Rose and Mr Twitty sold over 4M .. kindly put that in your bong and smoke it ..!

@@_Boregard_Rippy_ Your deep-seated love of a male country music recording personality is noted, (not admired.)
In any and all circumstances, I would rather listen to Bette Midler than your (now) forgotten hero.
DO please continue to espouse the virtues of a C&W former noted personality, I however will now "tune you out."
