Love how the soundtrack of this level will be bright and tropical but then fade into something really sinister, making you feel like the place is more messed up then you realize. Same thing with wittleton creek
Whittleton Creek for me felt off from the get-go, because a morning suburbia with people jogging, people watering plants, and birds chirping? ALWAYS too good to be true. Haven however genuinely doesn’t give off vibes thats anything’s wrong on a surface level
Loving how unique and memorable every location's soundtrack is. They might not be catchy, but with music as immersive and atmospheric as this, it doesn't need to be.
this is easilly my favorite soundtrack ever it strikes the gentle mysterious notes perfectly, often brushing shoulders with eerie and gentle themes its perfect

@@benicetoyourselfforonce Appreciate the help, thanks. Before I edit the timestamps, can you tell me exactly when it does play? I tried doing the USB stick stories for both Ljudmila and Tyson as well as the water scooter opportunity but I couldn't hear it (maybe because of the storm).
I love the shark hut theme 02:57 Most people hear it for the first time when they've talked to by Lyudmilla Vitrova, picked up their room key and are just settling in. You're in your own little safe room for the time being, with no rush to proceed. You're on an island, your targets aren't going anywhere you can take your time and blend in.
Dude 100%. I was playing yesterday, sitting in my villa, looking over the ocean, not a care in the world. Not to mention shark hut was playing in the background - had to come look for it!!!
I understand why you left out the combat part, but interestingly Haven Island plays the Colombian version, probably because of the tropical theme. Bless you Salem for making another great mix. This is the last mission for Hitman 2 apparently, so see you in Hitman 3 hopefully 💖
Actually it really only is the generic combat theme from Hawke's Bay and Whittleton Creek (and New York). It doesn't have those small acoustic guitar riffs Colombia has. Thank you, hopefully I will finally upload the S1 tracks I keep promising while we all wait for H3.
This has a nostalgia feel to it, and yet the mission isn't even a few years old. I can picture myself in every aspect with my eyes closed with this music, it's just so perfectly matched to the wonderful surroundings, the sand in between your toes, the eerie vibe before the end of the game... Hot damn they did well
Astonishing as ever. Would you mind sharing the tools/scripts you used to create these? I've done a lot of digging, and checked out older videos where you were kind enough to reply to me about this, but many links are now dead or out-of-date. Thank you so much for creating the most fun driving playlist ever! Fingers crossed the official soundtrack release holds a candle to yours.
Are they dead? Anyway I didn't change my method at all. I extract the files using QuickBMS and a small script, you can find information about all this in that texture modding tutorial: g2-mods.com/resources/h2texturemodding.html (you want to extract WWEM if you want the audio files, TEXD is obviously for textures). Then since original files use a proprietary header, I convert them all to a readable Ogg format using a small executable called ww2ogg (more info in that Steam thread: steamcommunity.com/app/236870/discussions/0/135511379836189450/ ). Finally I convert them one last time to 32-bit wav format since my old version of Sony Vegas seems to not be able to open the ogg files. I could use Audacity but the process would be significantly slower as I'm not as experienced with it, and besides they isn't much quality loss either. And no doubt that an official soundtrack would sound a lot better, they're made by professionals using lossless source files and they are usually also mastered on top of that, unlike my lossy mix-and-match mixes. My main purpose is to provide all the small tracks that the official releases elude for the sake of being not too long and cool to listen to.
Thank you so much for the detailed response. More internet remixers/rippers should be so generous with their time. I'm glad other people DO think the small tracks are cool to listen to, it's a good feeling!
Hey there, really enjoying the soundtracks. I'd like to know where you get these high resolution backgrounds. I'd like to make them my wallpaper, but can't seem to find any that are high quality.
@@iemeralds7349 You can find all of them over at gitlab.com/mike-koch/hitman-maps/tree/master/public/img/jpg . The "backgrounds" folder has the background for each location, while "mission-backgrounds" has each mission's background (which you see when on the planning/objectives screen).
Been waiting for this! After the introduction it sounds like some sort of Minecraft music Sad the extraction music is just the Miami one. Is there a 'default' extraction theme which doesn't use instruments specific to any level? I assumed there was, but they've chosen not to use it
As far as I know there is no generic extraction theme, unlike say for combat themes. At least they explicitely reused the Miami tracks in the DLC files, unlike combat which is absent (and uses the generic fallback).
I include that type of extra tracks in a separate video. Besides, the gym music is merely the Santa Fortuna drummer house song, only receiving speed up post-processing.

Niels Bye Nielsen is fantastic.
Idk, I find it really catchy. I keep catching myself humming the ost everytime
@@dusathemaid hah same i keep humming "shark hut" like im at the resort, and that song at the pool is awesome!
In hitman 2 soundtracks really better than hitman 2016.
@James Brennan 50/50, good but boring

Especially with the storm building on the horizon. Just **chefs kiss**

True
The use of hand pans or steel tongue drums in any soundtrack is my absolute favorite.
I've been thinking every day since Haven came out, "when is Salem going to put up the soundtrack mix?" Thank you!!

@@Salem33 Hey salem! Does the extraction sound like The finish lines extraction?
One of the best hitman maps to date, hope hitman 3 maps are all like this!
Agreed
for now we have the dubai map 😍
Baptiste Martin I really hope Dubai doesn't reuse Mumbai's music
@@nickitysplit1232 Why would they do that ?? Of course il will be a new music
Baptiste Martin It's just a thought considering some of Miami's music was reused in Haven Island
I like the villa soundtrack it feels very mystic
you're providing a REALLY needed content, thank you so much :)
0:59 Gosh, that cutscene where they showed the plane flying towards Haven in the Intro cutscene gave me chills. Felt like a proper infiltration.

23:26 AWESOME. Thanks for the upload !
Was wondering about this today, thank God. The first songs fits with flying in Just Cause 3 for some reason.
I had the same feeling while listening! How strange! That game's score deserves more recognition than it got, too.
Well, I was playing JC3 and got a biplane. For some reason I just felt it was necessary to say, “Paradise, 47”.
20:25 isn't that the sound effect that's used a ton in Hell's Kitchen?
Man, I love the Villa theme.
I like how atmosphere changes after killing 2 targets
Shark hut reminds me of Far Cry 3's pause music. Love the first part.
Thanks for the soundtrack, Salem, you're the man!

The server farm music would’ve strangely fitted in well with “The Graveyard Shift” from Hitman 2 (2002)
They can make anything sound like action music.
OMG, loving it
westworld vibes, hitman osts never fail to impress.
0:57 Santa 47 speeding towards island very fast
Nielsen certainly nailed it with this one
If anyone is looking for the music on the private island - the one that plays on the radio
It’s a soundtrack from the Mumbai barbershop
I’m soooo obsessed with the “Underwater Server Farm” track, it really reflects on my dark side hahah
0:57 and i love the WOA motif
Shark hut theme is the best 🤤
At 12:15, I just heard in the back of my mind...
“”I DON’T SEEE HIM! MOVE TO FLANKING POSITIONS!!”
I came here searching for the 23:24 part. I love it
Where does 4:06 play? I played the last resort quite often and never heard that theme, can anyone tell me where you hear that?
It in Villa basement when you destroy servers i think
the best map in hitman history
Mr. "to buy his reaper"
