- Here is a quick video of two log splitter modifications I wouldn't be without. The rack to hold and catch logs while splitting is a real back saver. And the stroke limiter saves time while splitting.
That stroke limiter is a stroke of genius! 🤣👍
YES a vid on How you did the RACK would be fantastic . It looks to be VERY STURDY ..Thanks this is a very good video ..
Please do a video on how to add a rack…..I have a champion 27 ton and not seen anything on market….
I've split 5 cords through it so far. Does what I need it to. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxUyQswtttSffRMblGbrhCvZn7JkhtG1-7 I scrounge all my firewood and am not equipped to handle big wood, but for logs up to 24 inch diameter or so, it works great. I've been amazed by some of the gnarly bur oak and elm crotches it has split. For the tougher stuff within it's size range, you might have to study the piece a bit to decide the best attack, but if you split smart it's up to the job. It did arrive low on oil, and I was would have nicked it half a star for that, but it has regained my full confidence. UPDATE NOVEMBER 2021: Still going strong after all these years. I love the one-handed operation. Hope it's still in production if I ever need to replace it
That is an excellent design for the stroke limiter. I see it is not stressing the wedge or piston at all due to the brilliant design.
Would really like to see how you make the log table. That's an awesome idea and yours looks solidly built.
Excellent ideas! I just made a stroke limiter myself. A viewer told me to come check your video out. Nice design, mine is adjustable too.
I have the same splitter.. thanks for the video, i've had the same thoughts about the rack and stroke limiter. I approve of the idea and execution.
Really like all your mods, most of which I’ve already done to my splitter except for the stroke limiter….nice simple execution 👍
That stroke limiter is a pretty slick idea!
Nice setup. I will be duplicating the adjustable auto stop. Thanks for sharing your improvements!
Nice Ideas! The stroke limiter is a very good one! Well done video.
That’s awesome! Thanks it’s just what I needed
I really like the stroke limiter idea.
Nice job, good ideas, make the video of the stroke limiter 👍👍
Thanks. Here is the follow up video.

Very good stroke limiter idea. tks.
A simpler limiter would be to drill a few holes in the bed and drop a bolt in behind the ram head. Easy adjustment by moving the bolt. Just had that idea, hope it helps.
Great job on everything
Looks good, great ideas
liked that, we use similar length rounds for our stove too...
Brilliant! I have to do this to mine.
dude. that limiter is 900 IQ. love it
more like 1200 IQ !
Better patent that stroke limiter. Smells like a brilliant idea someone will make some $$$$ off of. Great video
Nice mod on the stroke limiter
Good ideas - thanks for sharing
Love to see a video on the log splitter rack with engine guard.
That is CLEVER!
I bought a new bushhog and it had remivable stroke limiters on the chrome rod to limit the stroke. They were clamp on collars about 2" thick. Tractor supply sells them
Great mods!
Limiter looks great
Well done, thanks
Nice job.
like the adjustable stroke limiter
Very nice!
I would like to see how you made the log rack.
Excellent!
VERY NICE
I need this on my 27 ton Champion, a large log went off my splitter and put a small dent in the top of the gas tank. I also like the other idea to stop the return.
The engines just hang out there asking to get damaged on these things! I should have gotten a "Champion" splitter....the name just seem more appropriate!
@@championacres It's a great brand!!!
The stroke limiter is a brilliant idea. I would have some failsafe in the release mechanism in case there is a jam or something. You really don't want to tear your control valve apart. Maybe a spring or even a decent pair a magnets that will work as a shear pin.
That's a great idea. I'll have to think about how to integrate a fail safe.
Good ideas
Genius!
ive protected my engine side but plan on protecting the hydraulic side too...already have a dentin the hyd filter........
hi there well done i made a large heavy table off the far side . i use a loader bucket fill it up with rounds and set it up on the table loader is my log lift . . stops the WSMGR wood splitter merry go round . kind of don't think it would work for you . anyway you did real good john
Good idea! Sounds like a good way to justify having a loader or large tractor.....back saver!
Nice job god bless
I just drilled a hole in the ram track and stuck a bolt in it. A new home position
Wise to cover engine with all the plastic parts now a days lol I made mine solid and hinges up to access fuel tank it keeps debris from smouldering on hot muffler
Thumbs up.
Here is a video with more details on building the stroke limiter...

Wrjight, I do that !!!
Do you know of any 4 wedge attachment that works well?
Does the log frequently stick to the wedge on the rod as it retracts? My splitter has the wedge as stationary, plate on rod and I want to change around.
It can stick depending on what I'm splitting. Some oak and really knotty fir can be problematic. Usually once it's split once though you are home free.
Very few people know how to use a hydraulic on wedge splitter....
So many people carve a piece at a time when in actuality many shallow splits will tare the grain especially if there is a good center protrusion on the base
Interested in how you construed the rack.
I don't have a video on building the rack. But it's just 1/2" black pipe....sold at hardware stores or in 20' lengths at metal supply stores.
Which model splitter is this? 40 ton? Any issues or complaints with the County Line splitter?
Did you ever make a video on the stroke limiter?

Quiro saver como ajustar la valvula para que travaje mas Rapido
Good show future
What is the brand name of the splitter?
its a countryline splitter. Sold by local farm store. Seems to be a rebranded speeco splitter.
