After have 2 horrible back fusions. I have lots of back pain and Sciatica. The spin bike is the 1 thing I can do. I am able to load it pretty good. I just can't load it real heavy for sprint's. I used to love to lift and cardio kick boxing. I didn't think I would be able to do much of anything anymore. I am so thankful I tried the bike.
I have low back problems, cannot ride an upright at all. Stationary recumbents lack adjustments, but recumbent bikes have quite a bit of adjustment. I can still ride outdoors on my recumbents, but not road bikes, mountain bikes, hybrids, etc. My favorite is my recumbent tadpole trike.
Great video !! What you saying is 100% correct .. after 11 months of healing process from my herniated disc , was very conservative for any sport activity ..i went last week to a cycling class ..i felt really great after and guess what im pain free now i have no idea what happened but all discomfort went away ..i’ll try it again
Thanks for this, my sister bought me the excercise peddler where I had to sit in a normal chair, it was really uncomfortable for me but I was enjoying the cycling aspect, so tomorrow we're going to pick up a spin bike which I've found, I'm very excited about it!
If 14 minutes is too long for you as well; 1 - stay away from recumbent bikes where you can adjust your position easier. (smooth terrain or stationary best) 2 - Respect your personal pain threshold for length/frequency (up to 4/10 pain level should be good) 3 - Mindset, subconsciously allow yourself to slowly introduce more challenges to relax body and stop overprotecting and you'll see overtime improvement. 4 - Understand where you are physically before jumping in so you don't overdue it. One day at a time and wait to see how you feel after 48 hrs. Fine-tune and expand limits. Build resilience. Understand your pain don't avoid it.
This really sucks for me two fusion now another blow disc and severe sciatica. To top it off they just completed a 15 mile bike trail in my small Arkansas town 😭
Hii, i just had a surgery on my l5s1 for disc herniated 6 months ago and I’m still so uncomfortable, I don’t know where to star, the rehab at the hospital wasn’t so good because the type of exercises, just hurts… I’m worry because I don’t want be back at that ciática pain 😭😭😭
@@antonioj.castaneda7377 I’m good, to be honest I haven’t been able to do exercise since 1 year ago so I have weakness on my core and back pain regularly.. it is not chronic but I know it’s because I haven’t been doing things as I should. In fact , this week I started again. My left leg was the one hurt and after the surgery it’s really important the exercises correctly, as I said, A year without them brought me wear and tear on my left knee. I totally recommend you William’s videos and routines, Im doing them and I know they are really good, I did surgery because I hurt my back doing terrible exercises with a lot of weight, I was doing ALL wrong. So one day I wake up with sciatica and 2 months later I wasn’t feeling my left foot and the entire leg.. emergency and then surgery. 13mm of herniated disc .. 😭😭😭please don’t be like me lol… do exercises correctly and my blessings for you❤️ you will be fine.
@@NathalieCeda I am so sorry to hear that! I have a disc bulge that I am recovering from, and yes, trying to be much more smart and proactive about this condition. It's for life, unfortunately. Stay as positive as you can and work with a specialized therapist that doesn't just give you generic stretches and exercises to do. This channel is awesome, I have been following it for almost a year now. I have faith that with commitment, patience, faith, and strong work, you will make a perfect recovery. God bless you!

I used to be a mountain biker but haven’t rode for two years due to two herniated discs. Yet again you have provided great advice.
