When the NHS is underfunded but services needed to be provided what do they do.....pay private sector fees, thus increasing the cost of treatment. There should not be the need for private healthcare, if the NHS was funded correctly, allowing for sufficient facilities and staff there would be no need for private healthcare at all. The sad truth is that more money can be made if services are outsourced to private contractors....our NHS contributions, in part, go to these parasites. When the NHS is constantly being used as a political football and undergoing what seems like never ending reorganisation then what do they think will be result….it’s chaos and now the NHS is about to face another major reorganisation so more chaos will follow. When is the last time or first time these ministers visited the NHS to speak to patients? The NHS was the jewel in the crown of public services but not now and while I’m proud of the past 75 years of the NHS I am fearful of what generations to follow us will be left with! It seems people nowadays expect wealth, because they follow a dumbass influencer on UA-cam, and don't want to work for it.
So the Tories have tried to be clever on aiming their policies in the last 13 years to whoever will follow their agenda. They agenda is based on...rich get richer, poor get poorer.
They used the racist vote for Brexit, and Wow has that shown up now what a desperate attempt to fuck over the future of this Country, just to get a majority at their next election.
The Tories don't give a monkeys for anyone other than themselves and their rich donors and business associates.

The tories plan is to privatise the NHS.
So they've made massive funding cuts in real terms adjusted for inflation for the NHS since 2010 and I guess at some point when they have virtually destroyed our NHS they will just say it doesn't work we have to privatise it. But that isn't true, they could have actually continued to properly fund all of our public services including the NHS since 2010. But instead they chose to slash funding for all public services. And since 2010 they've been giving big tax cuts for big corporate businesses, the wealthy and higher payed, and spaffed billions of pounds up the wall during a global pandemic. And the UK now has the lowest corporation tax of any Nation in the G7 & most likely many more besides. So yes the money was available but tories chose another policy. Even the United Nations condemned the UK in 2015. They condemned the UK for the high levels of poverty, homelessness and inequality etc And they said it was caused by our conservative governments austerity policies since 2010, and it absolutely wasn't necessary, it was purely a political decision. They also said the problem started under the last conversative government in the 1980's

'Number one priority of bringing down inflation'? Not to safeguard the health and lives of those they are supposed to serve? Who caused the inflation? On whose watch did it get to current levels?

I was in (private) hospital in Birmingham for three operations in 2016/2017.
The staff were mostly from Continental Europe.
They were marvellous and gave me excellent care, although they were often working double shifts.
    I thought at the time...
    A) If these medical staff are under the pump in private Healthcare, I can't imagine how NHS are stretched to breaking point.
    B) how the hell is any hospital in England going to run at all now that Brexiteers have decided to send all the trained talent, experience and knowledge "back to where they came from"?
Murdoch's Conservatives have had the death of socialised Healthcare as their aim for as long as the NHS has existed.
Thanks to the current Cabinet of nepotistic Eton schoolboys, the inhabitants of England, Scotland, Wales and NI are very much the poorer, very much the unhappier and very much unhealthier.... While the likes of oily creeps like Johnson and Sunak become obscenely wealthy.

6% is peanuts and the Tories are still not willing to accept that. Given that benefits rose by 10.1% this year, why shouldn’t public servants receive at least that percentage at a minimum?

I got a 20% payrise last year for cost of living, still only equal to others in similar roles elsewhere, the public sector is horrific

They'll be happy to depreciate public sector pay down to the benefit level and then; sure they may have inflation matching pay rises. Hopefully, they won't be in office for too much longer and for a very long time hence.

It's a disgrace that people waiting for years to get an operation only to find themselves having other issue's cropping up before the first issue is treated . leaving them in a viscous circle with a ever decreasing quality of life in their mid to older stage of life ,
example 1 ,A neighbour of mine 4 yrs ago needed a hip op he used to sit on his bike and scoot along with his good leg to get about , then he went to a waling frame , now he can't get out at all . I have watched his deterioration in real time with my own eye's . and this is Treatable .
example 2 , a life long friend also needs a hip opp was told to lose X amount of wait when they achieved that the DR moved the goal posts and when they Achieved that they now are saying they have applied for the funding ( it's the NHS ) and are waiting for that to be agreed to , see you in six months . From first seeing the DR to seeing the consultant jumping through the hoops has been four years as of now . they are starting to think they are being gaslit . left to hobble around the house on crouches and get around on a mobility chair , neither would be necessary if the opp was done , It is also Treatable
example 3 , concerns myself i have been waiting to see a spinal consultant for a neck injury for over a year now ( not including the GP phase of investigations and several misdiagnosis spread over at least 18 months and have my first appointment in September. while i have been waiting i have other issues crop up and am now waiting patiently for those to be looked at .
When people are moving from middle age into older age , years of waiting people for Treatable Remedy are painfully aware that the hour glass is rapidly running out , They are left in pain/ discomfort , left unnecessarily with mobility issues etc . and they are the ones that have payed their subs for the longest .
Here are just three of the many i am aware of in my area and i shudder to think what this looks like across the UK
The politicians still think bullshit is the best policy .
