Great review Franklyn! Overall, they are cute and some have fantastic detail to them. I'm one of those collectors that has limited space, which is why I loved Sodas. They are small and don't take up a lot space. If Brian makes a product like a Soda character, I might be interested, but for now my wallet is safe!
I don’t see myself collecting these. I’m already drowning in pops lmaooo I plan to move into the anime statue hobby a bit more seriously than I am now. Thrilljoy feels like a higher end Funko to me. The mascot needs some lore to make me want to buy it, similar to how the Gastlecast has one for their Gastley figures. I’m not a fan of the Leonardo being different piece count than the Michelangelo, lots of other characters to turn into chase pieces imo. I don’t mind different character chases, it’s likely I can get the common on the secondary market or local, etc for same cost or lower.
Great review. Had not heard of them before. The cool packaging is a nice idea for collector’s like me who keep their pops in box. Price point is high for me though.
I was at the NYCC and ran across these. I picked up Chucky. Didn’t get the chance but I think the common has a better mold holding the Voodoo doll and knife in each hand rather then just a hammer (Chase)
I like the warrior nun and the van gogh. Huckleberry hound chase looks cool also but price point may keep me to just getting warrior nun and that's it. I personally don't care about counts on anything. I collect for myself.
Unfortunately they are not available in Australia but they are pretty cool, the only one I'd be remotely interested in would be the harry potter one, I personally think they are a little on the expensive side and plus too big, the beauty of funko is that they are inexpensive unless you are after grails plus the size of them, but I do like them
I am all in! I like these way more than Funko. I like the molds better, the piece counts, the packaging and so far the licenses. Funko has become stale and this is the creative injection the collecting community has needed. I will probably sell my Funko collection and go all in with Thrilljoy.
Hi Franklyn! once again thanks for the info, I had no idea about this new brand. Literally it’s a mystery mini in a nicer package… Also it’s price tag is way too expensive imo. I know that the Funko concept was created by Brian, but the similarities here are kind of obvious.
Awesome info video and you have a point on the chase aspect because I’m a Tmnt fan and would like the leo… but having to drop another 50 if I get the chase will see. Thanks again
Honestly I think the idea is cool like I like how the pix figures are in frames like a picture but I was looking at the website even before you said that in the vid and each one costs $50? Ehhh I would buy them if they were $20. Plus, $125 for the Mega Pix? I would pay maybe $50 for that but thinking positively, this is just for the launch until he starts getting money again…I just hope he and the company don’t end up in bankruptcy or something. Thanks for the video by the way!
I fully agree with you. Some of these look cool. Like the Harry Potter, Lotr and van Gogh. But I won't collect these. These don't feel high end for me. The box etc looks cool. The figure itself look simple and like a line Funko could run besides Pop. (Like Soda, Rewind.) So nice try, but a no for me.
It is all the same formula and that is the problem with collecting today. A character that will be dressed up as other characters plus a few variants of that character that he is dressed as. Add on some of these having a limited number of pieces and everyone runs just to grab the for that reason. It all gets old. This formula and the overpricing of everything are the reasons why I struggle with enjoying collecting nowadays.
I’m not going for these given the high price and trying not to collect too many things at this point I think it’s cool for that throwback but at the end of the day, I can’t really see these really making a big splash
I think the star wars / chase was a mistake , Funko must have done something wrong and decided to make it a chase. Reason is the figures have different numbers, when they did Laserbeak / Buzzsaw chase from transformers, the figures have the same number like they should, a chase of a figure should have the same number as the original to be a chase. In my opinion, that's why I think something happened and Funko made a last minute decision to make it a chase, I agree the chase should be a variation of the original, the $50 price and the larger size put me off. We all know how much space pops take up, and who collects something only to collect a small quantity, so people will run out of room faster. I don't see a way to use a protector either, because it would look bad, and what happens if you drop one or one falls off the wall. If they do turn out top be popular they will be a nightmare to get ahold of, low piece counts, flippers, the already expensive $50 retail price, so flip price will start at $100...... they are nice but I'm not rich enough for the way I collect

I was surprised that Thrilljoy didn't launch with a smaller product. Space is a concern for most collectors.
It looks like another line Funko would already make to try to diversify from the pops.

What do you think about the size of PIX?
I like them! But the price range and also space, they are a little big.
I like the warrior nun and the van gogh. Huckleberry hound chase looks cool also but price point may keep me to just getting warrior nun and that's it. I personally don't care about counts on anything. I collect for myself.
I might check them out once they start adding some anime or game characters to their line up.
I also don’t care for the cards, they don’t look pretty like Pokemon cards so it’s just taking up space.
Interesting. First time hearing this. Thanks for the infor.

I do wish the company success, and maybe they'll be able to expand to different markets in the future.

I ordered the Martian today. Need Killer Klowns!
Agreed

Unless you are extremely lucky to find a chase of these in the wild...the 2nd market prices will be too nuts for what you get.
I fully agree with you.

Real 😔
I'm not going down that rabbit hole.
I’m not going for these given the high price and trying not to collect too many things at this point I think it’s cool for that throwback but at the end of the day, I can’t really see these really making a big splash
They need like a wall easel but just a simple one made of only 2"x4"s

i feel no thrill or joy for these figures personally. i predict this may last about as long as 3L sodas or Gold figures... but we'll see
Cool figures but they just take up too much space
I seen one with Brandon Lee The Crow.. I want to get… if I see it at Comic Con tomorrow I will get it.
🤞 Have fun.
@@FranklynFMMcInnisThank you!!
They just look too childish
