      Makes sence that screen ratio when you are limited by the height as you are.

    SVS speakers and subs are totally worth the money. Piano black has a classy look. I would have liked to see this gorgeous setup in a dedicated theatre room as opposed to a living room. Dark gray walls, black ceiling and professional acoustic panels as opposed to less costly FOAM accompanies the speaker quality better.

    I have seen people who pay $85k for a pickup truck, and they have not anywhere close to this amount of enjoyment. Their depreciation in a scad few years matches this! You should do a theater tour ever year as much as your setup changes. Thanks for a great job... (im coming over....)

    Building my theatre room now. Took down a wall in between two small bedrooms for a great space. I hate the look of speakers and equipment out in the open though. Putting all the equipment in the closet, and getting in-wall Klipsch speakers. 7.1 system. Only thing I want sticking out is the projector obviously. Going with a JVC NX5. Looked amazing in person. Just a 128inch screen though. 16x9. Got it all from StarPower for almost half this room (installation, construction, light up theatre seating, etc).

    This was pretty much my first system about 2 years ago. I was rocking Ultra everything when it was announced. I had PB13's at the time, they didn't have the 16's yet. It was decent for movies....but there is a whole other world out there. Also, SVS ultra towers are only 88db effecient and peak at about 300watts, they will always be behind your subs in output. The front stage is the only real weakness in this setup, the ultra center is junk, could never hear a damn thing coming out of it. People who are freaking out at 38k haven't been in audio very long. That isn't that much money, most have that much in amplifiers. Home theater is relatively cheap compared to high end music setups. Good luck in 2020!

    • @shawnregal4876
      @shawnregal4876 4 роки тому +1

      SVS is all about the marketing, way better subs and speakers for the money out there.
      It seems most home theater enthusiasts are Klipsch and SVS fans...
      Dont get me wrong, SVS has decent subs, just better subs out there for the money. HSU, Monolith, PSA, etc.

      I expect that room wasn’t really big enough to get the benefit of so many speakers. 7.2.4 probably would have sounded very similar. But if he’s moving to a larger place it may be better suited. Remember the quality of speakers and electronics is more important than number of speakers, so even 5.1 can sound fantastic with great equipment.

      ALR screen. thats why. The rule of painting your room black really only applies to white or gray screens that are not alr. they bounce light back into the room. I have an ALR screen as well but i still went with flat black ceilings and trim and dark maroon walls and dark carpet. All my main and surround speakers are flushed in the wall at ear level, then i have 2 front height speakers flushed in the wall on both sides of the screen and a total of 12 dolby atmos speakers at a 55 degree angle above the 4 black recliners and the 3person black recliner/couch that is on a raised platform. The dark colors just give a much more immersive experience with the dolby atmos than light colors. Just my opinion though

    Real nice except for one thing in my opinion, when I bui,t my budget and I do mean budget home theater there was one important thing I wanted or didn't want, I didn't want to see anything but the screen, the equipment, the speakers were to be hidden like in a movie theater. I sourced acoustically transparent screen material from Dazian which is located in Norththern new Jersey, they supply theaters with curtains all types of fabric including movie theater screen material, I went there and they sold me the size I needed which was 120 inches measured diagonally. I built a frame and stretched the material across it, I built a cabinet on the left side of the seating area for the gear and found an infocus 72 PJ for 200 on eBay, I don't have fancy speakers, two kef 40 for the front left and right and a paradigm center speaker, two Polk bidirectional speakers for the left and right surround, again budget but it works and I enjoy it, I used to have my desktop computer hooked up to the projector so I could sit on the couch with my wireless mouse and keyboard and view the internet, I also install ed a surround sound card and ran an optical sound cable to the receiver, I would download movies and watch them or use the DVD player in the computer sometimes, would I like better gear? Of course but I don't have the money, I built it in 2009. They do make some nice high end acoustically transparent screens you just need to have enough room behind it to accommodate the speakers, the space around the screen can be made with fabric to also. In my living room I have a 106 inch motorized screen also, I only use that at night because there's too many windows in my old house to block the light from, on cloudy days it watchable though.
