- Mountain Biking at Mont Ste Marie is getting better every year. A huge shoutout to Velo MSM and Terrasculpt for building amazing trails. These trails are 1 hour from Ottawa but you would swear you were in Squamish. Everyone in the east should check out Quebec.
After following your videos for the last few years, I find it so fun to watch you ride my local trails! Awesome to see you're enjoying the region and all it has to offer!
Awesome! Yup i love it here. I used to have to rent a car and drive a minimum of 3 hours to get to trails with decent elevation. Very stoked to be in this region where we are surrounded and more are being built.
Headed there tonight for two days of riding. Thank you for making this video. It’s awesome.
Right on! I hope the weather is decent!
"Its not about going fast, just having fun" yeah !
Wooo
Great vid! Been going to MSM for several years now and while your skills are way better than mine, it's still great. Had a blast last summer on the new area other side of the road, shorter runs but sooooo flowy ;)
Gonna have to get over there this season. Looks so frigging nice! Being a Quebecer I can tell you mountain biking is exploding in our province. We have been given the nickname "mini squamish". The laurentians have tons of Loam, the Eastern townships ships have big mountain knar, the Quebec city region has more knar, mont saint anne and other insane places and the Capital region has.....well more knar. We really do have a alot of knar in Quebec....And well I guess that why I ride a Slayer lol!
Slayer is a good call! I just upgraded to a bigger bike myself (Norco Sight). I’m very stoked for this season!
Since when does Squamish have deciduous trees? Looks like it will be trip planning time someday... 👀
Haha good eye. The other side of the mountain has alot of old growth red pines and even more slabage. Stay tuned for more tree content!
Another great vid man. I’ve been about 2 years into riding now and after watching your vids. I wanna venture out to more places like you and gain more experience.
Do it! Travelling is one of the best things about mountain biking
We have been riding about as long. I also have the same urge . If I can get the little to peddle up hill... but I am happy you showed the climb trail, it might encourage her more. She only wants lift access now....
Outstanding job, great looking area for sure. Subscribed and liked.
Yeah they have done an incredible job!
Well done in Lager ! I've been riding there for a few years now, it's nice see some being so stoked ! Looking foward to see your Maibock and Boneshaker video, awesome content!
Very stoked to be near these trails. I am really enjoying the region and it's proximity to a ton of great riding. I can't wait to get on boneshaker and maibock
Awesome riding. Looking forward to the next video.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it
So want to check the riding out up there soon!
Yes guy! I will happily show you around
WOW! That was an amazing trail. You totally nailed when you said that Quebec does not get as much coverage as they should. I have been killing this winter time with researching all that Ontario and the surrounding area has to offer and there don't seem to be as many Quebec videos as there should be. I love at 12:33 -- not about going fast.... you proceed to Send It. LOL just speaks to your skill! i feel like i maybe could hit that trail but definitely not as Fast! Cheers!
I really hope you get a chance to go ride here! The trails are worth the drive from just about anywhere in Ontario! It's worth spending 2 days and grabbing an airbnb on the hill or enjoy free camping in the parking lot!
@@GoodTrails yep, it is a possibility this summer. Here is a question you probably get a lot: will my 130/115 shock travel be a big issue? I am not new to riding but new to Full Squish. Lol
My previous bike was a 2005 Trek 6700 XC bike. This bike is a 2021 Giant Trance. Just getting used to how much i can push it.
Great video! Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
great riding, these trails looked sick!!
The best!
Great riding and play-by-play commentary. Loving the stoke level. Lager is under-rated for sure, but the trail is no joke. Need to be on your A-game for some of those rowdy sections. MSM and Fortune are def the keystones in this region.
MSM and Fortune make for a fantastic Saturday/Sunday combo.
Agreed, i am hoping alot of my subscribers from Toronto will see how good the trails are here and plan a few weekends to come out.
@@GoodTrails we tried, plans fell apart. Thinking MSS ... there is a person not me, rule 2, avoid pedaling.
Do yourself a favour and go to Bromont
@@GoodTrails that much of a difference? MSS looks simple. Thank you. I will take it to heart. Aka maybe hit both. But bromonte is closer ....
I've been waiting for you to go to MSM for years! Glad you enjoyed Lager so much! I love it too. One of my favs anywhere. I was hoping you would film Maibock. That's a gorgeous trail. Quite steep and tech and no let up.
I have been looking at MSM on Trailforks for years. Can't beleive I waited so long. I'll be riding Maibock asap!
@@GoodTrails It's all pine forest. Will be beautiful in the fall.
@@Atomb ive skiied there and the ride up the lift is a beauty
@@GoodTrails I'm going to have to get back there in the winter to see it as it's intended. Anyway, hopefully I'll bump into you up there one day. It would be fun to do a lap with you.
Awesome Video .... Living in Australia It's hard to fathom the length of decent you can achieve and that wasn't a (in your words) big mountain 🤘
Haha it's the biggest mountain within in an hour of my place! But, it's nothing compared to the Rocky Mountains or even the stuff in Northern Quebec
Coming from NY (and lived in Quebec for 3 years), this is a cute little hill.
Nice man thanks !
No problem!
Crazy good trail work. The addention to detail is too notch.
Yeah dude, best trails!
That was sick!!!
Thanks Jaime!
Hey, new to your channel and liking the content! Lived in Montreal my whole life and never checked this place out😲. Guess i am due to visit. You still riding? Haven't seen a new video in awhile. Cheers🤙
Right on! I was just on Mont Ste Marie on Monday and the trails are great! Will have a vid from that day up soon!
SSSht!! SSSSSHT! Noooo! DONT TELL ANYBODY ABOUT THIS PLACE!
haha too late
Hey @Good Trails I'm currently working on a video featuring a couple of glamping cabins and interesting spots around LSM, and I stumbled upon your awesome Good Trails content. Your skiing and biking clips from Mont Ste Marie caught my eye for their realism and fun vibe. Would it be okay if I use a couple of short segments from these clips in my video? Of course, I'll be sure to credit you appropriately in the description. Please let me know sincerely, and thanks a bunch in advance!
Go for it!
Rly nice video man.... as always!! suuuper gnarly trail!!! do you use token in your fork? or what about weight-psi? same bike here o/. ty
Not sure what my pressure is, I just set it so it feels nice. But, I know that I don't have any tokens in the fork
Hey there, your channel was recommended by a reddit user. I am plannig a short trip this summer and I am wondering if there is an easier way to chat than using the commnet section. Let me know. If this is the best way, all good. Thanks in advance!
Hey man, message me on instagram at goodtrails_tyler
how's the Spesh been holding up? you've been running it for quite a while.
Its starting to creak alot. I think it needs some TLC
