    Love all the information you’re providing and the transparency - always refreshing to hear you speak on what you do and not being shy about sharing your knowledge.
    The only thing that I disagree about - not about being a leasing agent (I can’t speak specifically to that) but work in general - someone can be putting in their absolute all and still not get the same (or even similar) results as someone else. I think it’s detrimental for people to hear “you get back what you give” or something similar because that’s just not necessarily the reality. You might have a knack for something that someone else doesn’t and vice versa. I’ll also mention that someone’s personal finances, familial commitments, physical ability, mental ability, age, sex, gender, sexuality, race, religion, ethnicity, nationality and more can contribute to their success depending on an industry’s biases and/or clientele’s biases.
    I know for certain that you work your butt off. I see it every single day, and I’m miles and miles away from you.
    I felt the need to comment because I truly believe think it’s a half truth to suggest if someone gives it their all, they’ll succeed. Everyone has different barriers they’re fighting against in any given situation. They can give their all, they can work harder than anyone has ever worked before and still not see the same success as someone else.
    All my love and support ❤️

      This is so true and I really appreciate this being said!! Definitely something I need to keep in mind.
      I more so meant that being commission based, instead of being salaried where the effort you put in doesn’t have an immediate impact on how much you make (obviously there’s raises but not instant), the amount of work you put in gives the instant gratification of how much money you make. Hope that makes sense!

    So from what you are saying even though I am a licensed real estate agent I would need to get leasing license separately. Now when it comes to Chicago Association of realtors do I need to join them if I am already a member of Main Street organization of realtors?

    Of the commision that the landlord provides the leasing agent, how much of that do you get to keep and how much does the brokerage keep?

    Nice video thanks. I am thinking of doing a career change and was looking at leasing in NYC. Currently in my 40's with high level executive business experience. I get the impression these jobs are very entry level. Do you see a lot of people coming from different careers and is there a path to use past experience to fast track in the real estate field that you have seen? Thank you for any insight.

    In October I applied for the 120 day permit while with a company. I’m currently with a different company. My question is, can I switch my permit to the current company I’m with? Hope to hear from you soon!

    • @jesustapia9737
      @jesustapia9737 3 роки тому +4

      Not possible. Once the 120 permit is obtained within the company you started using it under it can’t be transferable. You would have to finish the 120 within that company, while during that period you are seeking license courses and passing your exam to obtain either agent/brokers/leasing license. Once you acquire your official license as such, you can choose to work under a brokerage of your choice.

    What would you say is the benefit of leasing as opposed to being a broker? Have you considered moving into real estate?

    How do you transfer from a job to leasing agent? I'm moving to Chicago and in the process of getting my leasing license. I've been an assistant manager/leasing agent for an apartment complex for a year in Norcal, but its a tax credit property so its different and its hourly. I can't risk not having an income right away. I'm a single mom.... tips?

    • @CairaButton

      A lot of people will do a side gig like a serving job while they get started. It’s a tough career to jump into since it’s 100% commission based and no hourly.

      having a real estate license means you can use it to do residential, commercial, leasing, property management, transaction coordinator, or become a team leader.

      @@raymondcaruso507 I'd get your real estate license if you want to switch around. I personally wouldn't get just your leasing license. I found it really odd when I heard some places can give you just a leasing license, kind of like what this lady is talking about in her video. If you don't like leasing then you could switch to something else for sure if you get the real estate license. I just recently passed my state exam.
