Your Q and A’s helped even more than our phone call I’m getting so excited to move there. I’m also really curious about your first time moving to Chicago and that whole adventure if you ever make a video!
If your building doesn't have a ton of laundry machines, DONT take up as many machines as available, especially if you're not planning on switching them right away. People will likely move your stuff, and it's not considerate to take up more than you truly need. (Coming from someone who lived in an 85+ person building with only 3 pairs of machines)
I’ve always lived in the suburbs and visit Chicago (which is an hour or so away from me) 2-3 times a year. Your videos are so helpful! I used to want to live in the city so bad but hearing about all these extra expenses like parking, is something I always forget about. It’s crazy how expensive it is but makes sense. I love your videos by the way! I started watching your channel when you only had 4 videos posted. Love your content! ❤️❤️
LOVE this series!! I really really hope that I match into a residency in Chicago!! I would absolutely love to move to the city and have you as my leasing agent!! I’ll find out for sure in March! Wish me luck :)
As someone who just got done looking for Chicago apartments in September 2021...I can tell you that the rents have gone right back up. No more COVID discount!
I’m loving g vicariously through your videos. It would never happen fur me as my husband is a wee bit older then me with bad health and hates the cold so I’m stuck in fl
Super helpful and on point! Thanks Caira! PS: I want to tell the world cause I’ve been wanting Ventra to do this since it rolled out, but you can now add your Ventra card to your Apple wallet! It’s so convenient!
I’m from the UK, so I don’t really know what the ‘average’ type person would earn as wages each month after taxes. Would you be able to make a little video about this pls? It would just really help understand the coatings of everything and put it all into perspective 😊😉👍👍 Also, how much do ppl generally spend on groceries and then eating out? The cost of living in each different city is so interesting. I’m so jealous of your public transport system!!!! 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
I want to move back to Chicago! I was there when I was younger and I miss it but I don’t know the best areas and that aren’t to expensive for someone in their 20s
personally, too expensive. my roommate and i live downtown in floor-to-ceiling windows on every wall of our corner unit, and our electric went up over a hundred dollars this winter from what it was every month in the summer. and standing near the windows feels like you’re basically outside. we live in a nice high rise building as well! maybe not this way in other places, but i hope that’s kinda helpful!
Honestly I just don’t know that area as well! I don’t get many requests except like Hyde park or south loop. If people requested it from me I would! But my niche is more downtown and north side.

Do you have any recommendations for a channel like yours in Boston? You are so incredibly helpful. I’m planning to look at Chicago and Boston towards the end of the year.
Do you have experience buying and owning apartments in Chicago? any advice? what's the process like and how is it different from buying homes in suburban areas?
As a leasing agent, are you allowed to recommend property management companies? I'm currently in Chicago and my management company unfortunately could be better. And once my lease is up I will be trying to find a better one. If you can recommend it, I would totally watch!
I am wondering what is the process of someone who is self employed and doesn’t have paystubs or a co-signer. How do they want proof of income. Ex. Bank statements or a certain amount of savings?
It totally depends on the apartment. Some require active income. Others might be ok with a certain amount of savings, but there is not clear cut answer.

I’ve never even thought about making a video on it but that’s such a good idea!
Ventra now has mobile passes too! super convenient for people like me who always lose the cards haha
Yes so convenient!!

Oh my gosh that is not enough machines for that many people!!

I show off a bunch of different neighborhoods that I like to hang out in so maybe that will help!
Generally, how much is the electric bill during the winter for heating if you have large windows such as yourself? Do the apartments hold heat well?

Yay u made more videoooos
Yay glad you like it!
How come you never talk about the south side? Or even show buildings in the south side?

Just found your channel as I'm looking to move to Chicago for school in the fall! When would be a good time to contact and start looking at places?
Thank you sooooo much for this video!!! Do you happen to have a point of contact because i am moving from out of state

Do you have experience buying and owning apartments in Chicago? any advice? what's the process like and how is it different from buying homes in suburban areas?
I don’t do sales yet so I’m not sure!
wait i’m obsessed with the apartment in the thumbnail, what building is that?
The Aurelien! Their prices are super high right now but every once in a while they have crazy specials

Yeah! I mean I don’t know them all personally but I can tel you what my clients have loved/haven’t loved.
Is there a general timeframe of when you’re asked about renewing your lease?
90-60 days before your lease ends!

Didn’t know it was other people in Chicago doing UA-cam it’s not a lot😂😭
