I was recently accepted to UChicago, and this video is absolutely amazing! Thank you so much for sharing. I loved that you addressed the financial aid benefits, which I think people who have the luxury of overlooking tend to forget about. I have had friends bash top schools that I have worked years to get accepted into on the basis of them being "elite private schools" but the truth is that many public schools will not offer you a debt-free education and in today's society that is invaluable, and as a minority and a first-generation college student from a low-income background, those kinds of opportunities don't show up too often.
So glad that you found the video helpful! Financial aid is SUCH a huge indicator - institutional financial aid is very high for "elite schools" given their allocated endowment/alumni donations. UChicago's aid packages are better than 95% of schools by far, and let me tell you, graduating debt-free is very liberating haha. Congratulations on getting into UChicago!! :)
When you were talking about studying in three different libraries everyday to make the most of UChicago, I found that to be so poetically beautiful. It's just such a deeply sensitive awareness to have. Luv that!

My daughter just got accepted to UChicago, Can you do a video on how to best manage the cold weather? We are from socal and have no idea what to get her for her dorm and what are student necessities to be comfortable. Perhaps there are things that are specific to living on campus?
Hey I'm applying to UChicago as a history major and one of the quirky prompts asks us to reimagine a map. I'm answering this by making a literal graphic map 🗺️ and writing a story with it. Do you think that's a good idea or should I stick with a story?
I love that! I think that sounds great - I truly believe that the UChicago prompts are for you to wholly write/create whatever feels right to you! I personally think a graphic map would be a great visual, and it definitely relates to the prompt. :) Good luck writing!! (uchicago history classes are so cool, I minored in history and they were some of my favorite classes at uchicago!)
