I really appreciate that Kirby will ask a question and allow an answer to be fully spoken before responding with his own thoughts. It is very refreshing to see content like this.
This was a surprise. I've been watching both your channels for years but never imagined the two of you should meet in real life. I really enjoy these unexpected encounters. Kirby, you should have your own TV-show!
As I've watched Teddy over the years, he's really become one of the greats in the watch world. His expertise is so deep, he has no need to show off or talk down (or worse, talk smack)--just loves the art and history and loves to share his knowledge. The gentleman of the watch community, to be sure. Great guest.
I love Teddy’s genuine enthusiasm for the entry level level watches. Sadly this is not reciprocated by Kirby, he moves on swiftly through the “cheap end!” Kirby’s only becomes animated when talking about what is perceived as exclusive. No opportunity to to mention Patek or his Chopard, or his Grandfathers Rolex was missed. Well done Teddy, you are are truly “all inclusive!”.
@@daniell2217 hi Daniel, I’m not sure if you’re responding to my post? If you are... Kirby’s suits, or his stage set, were not my concerns. My issue was of courteous attentiveness, basic good manners.
I love the collaboration between Teddy and Kirby. Maybe in a future episode, Kirby could lay out a business casual, suit and tie, and jeans ensemble for Teddy to match a watch to the outfit. Could be fun to see trying to match dials, bands, and shoes to each type of outfit.
Great collaboration! Teddy does such an amazing job at highlighting affordable models from good brands that don't cost 5 figures, when most of the UA-camr's are obsessed with watches as investments. (which won't last!)

@@gregabc5702 It is INFLATION who's been outperforming everything to be fair. Both watches and real estate are not worth their price in gold. Gold would have to go to 50K per oz just to justify paying 30k for a 18k gold watch.

One of this guys is a real gentleman, that understand the huge platform and range of his content, so he is really honest about that brod audience reality, so he keeps insisting to bring great value and accessible products for a environment of snob and rich community. Teddy is a great man.
You know Teddy is a watch dealer, right? He’s in the business of selling low-to-mid priced watches online. Not saying he doesn’t come across as a good guy, he does. But, Teddy’s never gonna say that everything not named VC, PP, AP, or Rolex is inferior trash. Doing so would be bad business.
@@2K9s does anyone use the watches what they're intended for? Generally no. Because the manufacturer generally charges more then Teddy and other watch dealers. And he's doing what the majority do when it comes to selling watches. It's called retail...
I was subscribed to Teddy and all the other watch channels like TGV , until I filled up my 10 piece watchbox. Ironically, I just narrowed down to 8 due to a new watchbox purchase that had 2 drawers for straps and cuff links. If I sell all my watches today, I wouldn’t have enough to buy me a 2nd hand Rolex. But the emotional value and memories attached I have with my collection, is priceless.

This is great, im a big fan of Teddy. I have several watches, but Longines and Tudor are by far my favorite for under $5k. In fact if anyone has a budget of under $2k, look at the Longines Conquest line.. incredible
Surprised no one seems to talk about the Longines Heritage Conquest 35mm models. These are pure vintage watches at vintage sizes, and they look way more expensive than they are.
When people today reference Louis Breguet as the inventor of the tourbillon they fail to give due credit to John Arnold, who was the first to develop the concept of a tourbillon, and whose initial work on the mechanism was curtailed by his death. However, Arnold passed his work to Breguet, who personally acknowledged Arnold’s contribution to the invention of the tourbillon by placing his first tourbillon not into one of his own watches, but into one of John Arnold’s early pocket chronometers, Arnold No. 11, which he presented to John Arnold’s son, having also had it engraved with the following inscription: “The first Tourbillon timekeeper by Breguet incorporated into one of the first works of Arnold. Breguet's homage to the revered memory of Arnold, given to his son AD 1808."
Love that you brought the Marlin. The silver dial 34mm one is what I wear the most. Wish I could find a 34 mm black dial (non california dial) version.
Adam, four years ago there was a limited-edition black-dial version of the Marlin model shown in this video: the Blackout version designed by Todd Snyder. It's a beaut, with an embossed lizard print strap in black patent leather. You might be able to find one on the second-hand market.

I’d like to mention Kuoe which is a newer company in Kyoto Japan. On my last trip I stopped by and grabbed one and it’s a solid and elegant looking watch

Kirby you mentioned a couple times leaving your watches to your sons. Love it, but also don’t neglect to leave at least one to your daughter as well. I have no doubt she would wear and cherish a watch from her father as much as your sons would!
I always had a pocket watch when watches were more affordable for more people. I bought a Bullseye brand, which only cost me $1. Obviously, they were called dollar watches. Mr. Allison: Your advice please: I would love to start wearing some of the watches I purchased in the 1980s which have been tucked away for lots of years but I really like having my FitBit on to keep track of my heart, calories burned, etc. It would seem dorky to wear a classic tank watch on one wrist and my FitBit on the other wrist. I used to buy cheaper mechanical watches, you know like Stauer that would advertise in the backs of magazines, but I haven't gotten an automatic mechanical watch since my wife gave me an Oris over 11 years ago. I'm contemplating getting a new one for my 50th birthday next year.
