Oh, yes, Peter Straker, leading light of British musical theater for over 50 years. His Heart Be Still is absolutely beautiful, you're sure right about that. I listen to it often...wish I could find Peter's CD that it is on. I think the guy you mentioned that Freddie tackles is Kenny Everett. That was so funny, it makes me laugh too.

Unfortunately when he was alive nobody got it when they all dressed up. Then they shot this. It was only then every got it. They were not as they seemed. Such a sham. Queen was way Way ahead of their time. But I do believe Freddie would find Queens resurgence quiet amusing. And would say. Why not darlings??!!!

On the flip side of the single, there was "Exercises in Free love", as a first glimpse of the opera album with Montserrat Caballé, that followed up. They definitely had a lot of fun. Peter Straker was the third "background girl". He was a quite successful actor and singer in the UK, doing mostly musical theater, and he was Freddie's long time friend. In another even more extended making of version for this video, one could see Freddie shaving off his moustache, and that was it. He never grew it again.
I think the original music video is the better one. The extended version is pretty distracting if you just want to listen to the song. They have included the making of it in the same video but imo they should be watched seperately. I do love this song. And that he recreated some of his other videos. ❤ It makes me feel nostalgic even though I wasn't there lol. React to I Want It All.
