They actually recreated the sets from some of the old videos to make this. They didn't lift the scenes with the girl from "I was Born to Love you", they recreated it! Also, the set from I want to Break Free.
I remember seeing the discomfort of, particularly Brian May, in the first videos. Freddie was behind all this because he was a true showman. I really like you both together, you work well.
Has Hank seen anything from WEMBLEY 86? Or Breakthru... Headlong? Really enjoyed this reaction! Funny about Hank thinking that one wo.an was Roger. I think Roger would draw the line at Freddie diving down on him Lol maybe🤣
That was fun! I had seen it before, but I enjoyed watching Hank enjoy it. The third singer was Peter Straker, very good friend of Freddie's. He is credited with co-writing "I'm Going Slightly Mad" with Freddy, according to Peter Freestone...they always made each other laugh. I have never heard anyone react to "La Japonaise" from the Barcelona album. You will her Freddie and Montserrat Caballe sing in Japanese! It is very beautiful and several videos have been to go with it. I like the one with historical Japanese scenes. Maybe Hank would like to try that one, too. I love your reactions, Sassy. By the way, a Sam Cooke hit I think is great is "You Send Me".
Nice and funny reaction! There is also an extended behind the scenes video of this song, and there is a scene where Freddie shaves his moustache. He never grew it again after that. This single was a one off without album. Freddie just really liked to do this song. Then they needed a b-side, and in one night they improvised another song: "Exercises of free love", that was before the collaboration with Montserrat Caballé. He used it then to show Montserrat what they could do when they first met, and she loved it. It evolved to the Barcelona album song Enueno. You both could react to the Traveling Wilburys, a supergroup with George Harrison, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, Jeff Lynne and Bob Dylan. Maybe their song "Handle with care". Or to the song "Alright now" by the 70's kind of one hit wonder band Free. The singer was Paul Rodgers, who toured with Queen for a while in the early 2000's.
Freddie - I, I haven't got the shape...... Roger, - HE HASN"T GOT THE SHAPE! then you hear Peter shrieking with laughter.. They had so much fun on that shoot! & the video aside, Freddie did great justice to his cover of The Great Pretender. It was excellent.
Thanks for doing the extended version Sassy, they seemed to have an absolute blast. As for the song itself, it's one of the best - if not the best cover I've heard. You're right, little Rogerina looked fabulous,(Roger was always up for shenanigans with Freddie) actually, all three ladies were amazing - and Freddie as a redhead...WOW!!
Hola Sassy and my buddy Hank! I had never heard or seen this one before. Looks like Freddie had a lot of fun doing this one. He could sing ANYTHING. Looking forward to your next Zep related video. Stay safe!
I read that this cover and the video was sort of an homage of what a "great pretender" Freddie really was in revisiting some of the music videos he made with Queen over the years. By the way, the music video of him with the other blond woman was another solo piece of his called "I was born to love you."
Hey girl. Loved the reaction from the both of you. Hank is right. Do some ROY ORBISON. You will love his voice. Some of his best songs were done from a live concert he did for Cinemax. Its called Black and White Night 30. It was done back in 1988. My favorites of his is Blue Bayou In Dreams Crying Leah Oh Pretty Woman. Pick one I just love his voice. I have Freddie Mercury as number 1 best singer and to me Roy Orbison is number 2. Thank you doing the Queen videos. Much love to you my sister. Take care. QUEEN BEE.
loved this so much! you can just see how much fun Freddie & Roger always had, he could ask him to do anything crazy and Roger would always be up to it!! also I know you already reacted to the One Vision Documentary but I would love to see your brother in law’s reaction as well, if you can!! x
Great reaction 🤣🤣 I really love love love this video. Amazing they used fragments of Freddies and Queens music videos. A sort of tribute wise? Much Love for you 2 ❤❤
You must watch an anime ed! Called The great pretender Freddie singing to animated cats! They credit him They went to the trouble of modeling them on his favourite cats and they're singing at the mic like in the video He would have loved it

I hadn’t seen this version either thanks for that .. 🌹
I requested the extended version of this song, and I'm so glad that Hank enjoyed it, and you, too, Sassy!
Great cover from Freddie! You can check out the original by The Platters - The Great Pretender
This was so much fun! Cheers!

Love this song a lot . Love Roger dressed as a female again ! He looks great. They had so much fun with this . Great reaction from you both too.
the other backup singer "woman" was Freddie's best friend Peter Straker. This video is so funny and so great to see them having so much fun with this.
Peter Straker was popular in Britain as a musical theatre singer, in Phantom of the Opera etc.
