      Bubbles dont matter with stain, they do however matter with polyurethane

    Him: It doesn't have to be so complicated.
    Everyone: Poly, lacquer, shellac, towels, strip, don't shake, no wait don't stir, special roller, special towel, stir it with gold rods made from the tombs in Egypt!
    Him: ughhhh...nah
    .
    I love how everyone is telling this dude to do what every other UA-cam video says and he literally said in the beginning "it doesn't have to be that complicated" ...
    He's aware of all yalls steps and 42 different methods, he just doesn't care and all the comments are telling him how to do what he does not want to do lololol

      It doesn't have to be complicated if the goal isn't to make a lasting finish

    Looks good. Try sealing with a polyurethane on top of that. Makes the natural wood grain pop out

    When staining, just get it on there as fast as possible so it takes more evenly. Then wipe off

    I have a raised dog dish that I bought off of Etsy, and it came stained with a coat of urethane on it, but my dog on the water side it all came off most of it and so I went out and bought steel wool and sanded it all down and stained it again but the stain only adhered to where I didn’t really send it. Is there a reason why? And since it looks all messed up, should I send it all the way down again with sandpaper this time or shall I paint it give me some advice. Thank you.

    how do I prepare the wood before staining? do I need to sand?

    • @BrynhildRose
      @BrynhildRose 7 місяців тому

      I always do at least a light sanding before I stain. In my experience it seems to help for a more even finish without splotches or "blobs" of darker areas.

    Quest for everyone here, is there an all in one product to stain and protect from rain? I have a bar and a tony bit of it might hit the side of the bar?

      Yes, search sealing stain or something on google, I was in the store the other day and saw some but I can’t remember what brand it was, I think it said weather seal maybe. If you search sealing stain I’m sure it would come up.

    Why you put stain if you had to take it out right away ?

    • @DuckyChair
      @DuckyChair 9 місяців тому

      Wiping it takes the excess stain off the table but leaves the stain that has soaked into the table.

    Is there a special kind of roller you use?

    • @everjoelvalladares2271
      @everjoelvalladares2271 4 місяці тому

      You can use any roller but use one that u think you can do more progress when you apply, try to use one used or make sure your new roller don’t let small things on the wood

      Or a polyurethane coat on top

    • @BrynhildRose
      @BrynhildRose 7 місяців тому

      Adding a poly topcoat (I've had the best luck with 2 thin layers) is going to last you for quite a while if taken care of correctly. I would lightly sand out the water rings with a high grit 220 + sandpaper and then do the 2 thin coats of poly with a light sanding in between coats.
